Goddamn, Hems has a good foot up on the kid lol.

Hemsworth's neck and head looks like it should be on another body. A long neck and massive head.

Makes me think of that BF3 long neck glitch.

It's shocking how much I don't care about this. Marvel took way too long to announce; the only thing that would've got me excited is Rowe.

I don't know anything about the director either, which is super lame.

Finally, an announcement!

I haven't seen Holland's work, but he looks the part.

Also, the people making fun of his mole, fuck you guys. That's not cool at all. Let's all laugh and point at someone who looks different! You're the reason why people like me (I have vitiligo), are absolutely mortified to go outside and interact with people. The stares, finger points, and comments I hear on a daily basis are soul crushing. If it wasn't for my wife, I don't know what I would have done to deal with it. This kid just had a mole on his chin. Sheesh.

Back on topic, I'm also not familiar with Watt's work, but I'm willing to give them both a chance. Making a movie isn't solely on the hands of the director and the cast. It's a huge production, with a lot of moving parts. There are literally hundreds of people that make films, but generally, the director and actors get all the praise (and criticisms!).

I'm just stoked to see Spider-Man alongside the Avengers. It's a dream I never thought would be a reality.

So he's had the chin mole removed like the A list stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Enrique Igloos-ears before him.

Just got the remaining side-nose mole, acne and greasy hair to clear up and he's all set for Hollywood stardom.

I hope, that like my post, they are posting with some irony.

Seriously. People crack me up sometimes. We complain about how inaccurate teens are portrayed in films and the first complaints flung out are "OMG acne?!?" God forbid he looks like 90% of teens in the world.

The kid for sure looks the part and has the physical capability (based on all his insta-flips). Let's just hope he nails the wit that's been missing and this director delivers.

I can clearly recall Gaffers complaining that Andrew Garfield was too attractive to be a convincing Parker. And wrote their post out in a way that made it sound like Peter should be some pizza faced nerd.

never thought I'd be defending Americans, but yeah, I can see someone's gonna be a bit tired of English actors playing American icons. I mean, I'd be pissed too if some US guy played Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, or Sweeney Todd, or Jane Austen, or Lara Croft, or Bert from Mary Poppins

super stoked..YEAH we got another one!

cool. i dont know who either are and everyone will be hating now but next year when the movie comes out everyone is going to be loving it and placing among their favorite mcu movies.

I like this. Tom Holland's Spider-Man is going to be interacting with all these ridiculous, exaggerated, larger than life figures. I love the idea that he'll be a young, relatively unimposing figure among them, but also more experienced out of the gate than most (all?) cinematic Spider-Mans have been. Young + skipping the origin story is a great combination, and should work pretty well within the MCU's overall dynamic.

This is great.

Looks like he's already worked with Thor in the upcoming film "In the Heart of the Sea"

Have to agree that those old pics don't do justice, but based on his Insta he def. looks like a pretty good choice. That height difference between him and Hemsworth is crazy though.
Good it should be, he's a kid lol

This is going to be like the ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, all the avengers are going to be this big opposing figures, and he is just going to roll up, be tiny but strong as all hell

Looking forward to the adventures of Peter Parker in the 6th grade.

Dude looks like he's 12, seriously.

High Schoolers honestly all look younger than we're preconditioned to think. I feel like expectations of how old someone should look in high school have been morphed by movies and television shows always casting someone in their mid to late twenties as a high schooler.

God if he ever decided to go method to play a guy who gets abuse on a regular basis he can just scroll through GAF and read some of the ridiculously stupid comments made here.

I assumed people complaining about the mole were joking.

No one would actually write off an actor for something like that, would they?
