You sons'a bitches told me The Impossible was on Netflix, I feel lied to.
That was probably me, sorry! It's available on Netflix Brazil, I don't know about other regions.

This will be my only post in here, because I don't want to be a Debbie Downer.

I have lost all interest in Spiderman, and this casting does nothing for me. I wanted an older Spiderman. I am sick of Origin and teens angst Spiderman.

Theyre not doing the original story and spider-man has barely been a teenager on film

Wasn't Spider-Man 2 Peter grown Peter for the most part? There was no teen angst there.

Getting fired and working shit jobs, having rent to pay, dragging his weight through college, tons of stress physically and emotionally, girl issues, and so on? I'm so glad that those movies ditched HS quick tbh. TASM really should've skipped the origin but Sony for some reason thinks people cannot identity with Spider-Man unless we watch his uncle die again.

I'm confused, do people want a married Spider-Dad who juggles a job, family, and superhero identity? Because I feel like Raimi covered the struggle Spidey, who had to make shit work as a man.

Edit:

I'm gonna try and keep an open mind about them going this young even though I was against it initially. Now it's a wait and see thing for me.

No biggie, I'll just rent through Amazon.

What I want, and what some others have expressed, is a Spider-Man that adds some new and unique dynamics to The Avengers roster. Scott Lang is your struggling father Avenger, what Spidey adds is that younger perspective who can both annoy the adults and surprise them with his more youthful outlook. We've seen that not all of the team is a complete moral saint - having a younger Spidey calling Stark out on his bullshit would be a great thing to see.

Yeah, I can get behind that.

I think Spider-Man adds so much to this team mainly because how dynamic he is. He'd have something interesting to say to each one of these characters, and depending on how they pull it off, it could be great. It's all in the writers hands now, but I'm hoping the interactions as well as the individual character moments are well worth. I'm being extremely cautions though, and not really expecting much. Just hoping.

I hope he beefs up at least as much as McGuire did for his spiderman 1 transformation, Andrew Garfields transformation was pathetic, he looked like a real weedy superhero.

Andrew Garfield's physique was more akin to Spiderman's than Toby's, Toby always looked "chunky" to me... even more so when wearing the costume. Spiderman is slender not chunky. And the new dude has an alright physique for Spiderman already going by some of his Instagram pics.

More akin to Spider-Man? The Adult version? No. Spider-Man is quite beefed up but not so much as compared to other Superheroes. Yes, the younger version (Ultimate Spider-Man) is slender but not the original Earth-616 version.

Yeah I prefer rami's interpretation. Juts because its source material, that does not automatically make it superior.

I like this guy. He does indeed look like a highshooler.

Only concern is he is 19. Given how long movies take to make, for how many movies will his looks hold up?

all I can think of still is this kid doing backflips while crying

can you imagine being 19, relatively unknown, and suddenly you ARE Spider-Man

can you imagine the amount of losing your shit he's going through

Garfield physically speaking was probably the best we've had. But I always liked a more slender Spidey personally speaking. Tobey looked real good in SM1.

I don't know why they keep insisting on looking for people fresh out of film school to direct their $250million blockbusters? It didn't work so well with Marc Webb. If it did, there wouldn't be another reboot so soon. I guess it is just easier for producers to control these fresh young new guys than some older more accomplished director.

Webb got shafted by Sony as much as Garfield. I don't blame him for the design by comittee disaster ASM films.

It's Marvel Studios who's producing the film, not Sony.

Sony suits had a hand in the shortcomings of the TASM franchise too, why the fuck should Kaz Hirai have any say what goes in the film? Lol.

you never noticed Tom Cruise is short? 😦

I feel like they mask it pretty well in relation to other actors.

So he knew it since last year.

only if he's psychic...

screen test on May 30 in Atlanta, where Civil War is currently shooting.....Unable to decide between them, they asked for a second screen test that occurred the week of June 8

Also, the list of the final six is interesting....
Holland, Asa Butterfield, Judah Lewis, Matthew Lintz, Charlie Plummer and Charlie Rowe

Lintz would have been such a young choice:

And I really wouldn't have minded Charlie Rowe

In fact, I don't know enough about Holland to give an opinion, but since it came down to him and Rowe, I can say I'm very happy with the direction casting went.
