Is it her? The cat?

Scrunchy?

Wait what? Morgana? I thought the cat's name was Luxuria.

UGH please tell me that she doesn't transform into a human like one of those animes

I was all set to have the cat as my fave. A talking cat with sass (Like Luna in Sailor Moon)

It will be exactly like one of your Japanese Animes.

Also she's your adopted little sister.

Nope, that screen listed the seven deadly sins in latin.

Luxuria = lust
Invidia = envy
Superbia = pride
Acedia = sloth
Ira = wrath
Gula = gluttony
Avaritia = greed

And two words that don't belong to the above.

Irritia = void
Cavum = hollow

I'm still wondering how these all tie up to the story.
My theory is that there's a character (and maybe a plot arc) for every sin.

If P5 follows the same structure as P4, then I'm guessing that the sins will be the basis for the game's dungeons, with nine or so in all.

Ah I see!

So...... that hints at 9 main playable party members then, doesn't it?

MC is greed?

So far, I think it points more towards the protagonists and the thief Personas they assume than that. The main character would be wrath based on his blood motif, his expressions and what Arsene says. Morgana would apparently be pride based on how she talks. Lust could be Anne based on her costume.

Whatever the case, no Persona game has followed the same dungeon motif as the previous one (counting P2 as a whole).

I've never played a Persona game before, but this is easily my most wanted game atm. :3

Go play Persona 3 and 4 NOW! Even the original PS2 version of 4 is great if you don't have a Vita!

Be warned, Persona 1 and 2 are nothing like 3 and 4, as 5 follows the mold 3/4 set.

MC and villain (new guy in the trailer?) are Irritia and Cavum imho.

Probably a safe bet.

Also a safe bet.

Seriously, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't exactly this.

I don't think Persona 3 Portable will be the best way to start out. They had to strip a lot of things out to make it playable on that thing.

MC is greed?

The obvious guess would of course be that the main character is greed because he's a thief, but I'd like to think that they're not that lazy and are throwing a curveball, with the thing going deeper than that.

Could also be hollow (cavum), as in empty, zero, like a wild card.
If he was hollow then there was room for 7 party members representing the sins, and one antagonist (void).

If we're relating the characters with the sins, I can't see how it could be anything else but wrath based on what's been shown. Even his footsteps generate blood puddles.

Maybe all of the characters have blood attached to them like that, though, but it's only been shown for the MC so far.

I started with P4 on ps2 then went backwards to 3, 2,and 1.

I actually prefer the story in P1 and P2 but the gameplay in P4 is the best I've seen in the series.

Why are Atlus pulling down the trailers?

Don't they want people to see their game?

Atlus pull down a lot of relatively minor stuff from YouTube. They were removing PV01 trailers uploaded by other people when that first went up. There's no way they wouldn't do the same for a trailer that isn't even supposed to be officially released to the public yet.

Its the internet.
Why not try and hold the tide back with your hands.

They should of expected this and just rolled with it.

Heh, you should go back and read the objections to how Atlus does things people talked about in this thread.

Whatever you might reason, it's Atlus and that's just how they do things. Hopefully, they're aware and realized that a leak would be inevitable going in.

In this case, just "rolling with it" would be disrespecting the people who were pushed to buy Persona 4: Dancing All Night early for the Persona 5 special movie Blu-ray disc. They can't just sit idly by when it's tied with purchases in an exclusive capacity like that.

Lets be honest here anyone who was daft enough to buy a game just to see a trailer for a game that would end up on the internet within hours deserves no sympathy at all.

Being pushed to buy it early. Maybe people would buy P4D down the line, but they wanted to get the first-print copy bonuses such as the free DLC costumes combined with the Blu-ray. This is the reason first-print copy bonuses even exist, and Atlus has done this before with Shin Megami Tensei IV in 2012 when that game's debut trailer was exclusively available with Soul Hackers 3DS.

Again, it doesn't matter how you reason it, Atlus is doing it right now for these very reasons even though, as it was discussed before, they might not necessarily be good ones.

Yup, started to watch the trailer and stopped 7 seconds in. Not going to spoil anything. Went into P4 completely blind and am now on blackout for P5. I will make my own way...

MC is greed?

MC is red, so wrath. Ryuji is yellow, so greed. Anne would be envy.

You can see their eye colors changing in the PV01 and such.

When I think of greed, I instantly think of this fucker right here:

fullmetal%20alchemist%20greed%20fma%201280x800%20wallpaper_www.wallpaperhi.com_71.jpg

Let's see if Ryuji can live up to that.

The obvious guess would of course be that the main character is greed because he's a thief, but I'd like to think that they're not that lazy and are throwing a curveball, with the thing going deeper than that.

That makes too much sense though, so it's probably right.

But I have to say, it's hard not to think of wrath for the MC with this PV02.

I know this really shouldn't be questioned after how P3/4 made switching personas big, but do you think since these personas are based off things like the sins that they won't be able to switch around? Or will they introduce multiple personas to all the team again?

I think they'll be able to switch. It'll make the game better mechanically. The game seems more SMT like than the rest of the series.

It also fits with Arsene's ranting about punishing criminals.

I'm hoping P5 will have something like sub-personas for your none wildcard party members.

I don't know, but I'd sure like to have multiple personae back.

Can we possibly have a GAF member who works for Atlus USA or Atlus JP let us know? :P

Maybe

Do we know if the MC is a wildcard or are we just assuming...?

If P5 is gonna follow in p3 and p4 footsteps, is he. But I'm pretty sure it was confirmed, as if I remember in the first PV when you shows that weapon shop he's listed as "Joker" as in a Fool.

Also, to get back to that seven deadly sin idea, that casino we keep seeing is gonna be our greed dungeon (duh). It'd be pretty interesting how they're gonna represent the other sin, some are pretty obvious tho (strip joint or a love hotel for lust, a jewelry store for envy, for example). Not sure how they will represent something like pride.

A gallery filled with paintings and sculptures of someone, maybe?
