There is one report (unconfirmed), that the factory produces chemicals. That could mean anything,I guess, but if people are on the run with a cocktail of dangerous chemicals that seems bad.

Innocent people is a relative notion. In their twisted minds, none of us is innocent if your governement act against Daesh. Or so I guess.

It's terrible for the victims. But it sound like it could have been much worse, if the terrorsit's explosives had been more powerfull.

:(
I'm just tired of all this.

Go spill your hatred in Syria where no one will care if you die.

Thoughts and prayers with the relatives of the vitcim.

We are already guilty of not being daesh. But I could believe that they have personal beef with france now. Maybe not though, not quite sure what's going on in the heads of these nuts, maybe they just threw a dice.

And the problem is less the factory and more what they took from it. I hope french forces can stop them before they can do whatever they want to do with whatever they got.

Syrians are humans too, with kids and husbands and dreams. Writing that is just mean.

There are a bunch of reports citing this was very ramshackle in approach and seemed ill-planned - very unlike the Charlie Hebdo attack early in the year. So, not trained people involved.

The head was apparently place/pinned on the entrance gates so it would be the first thing police would see on arrival

I dont like this!

The arrested people are always known to intelligence. That's what makes it so insulting when these events are used to push for stronger powers.

That is true. There is always reports later on how this and that person was under surveillance.

I don't really see the need for media to report the gory details - isn't that just helping the terrorists spreading fear/message etc. ?

Not much to be done about it though

Being "known" isn't even being "under surveillance". There are thousands of people known to intelligence, for the mere fact of having contact with specific networks, being close to other "known" people or just having posted inflamatory messages on social networks. It doesn't mean all those people have policemen tracking them and checking on their daily activity...

At least these barbarians didn't manage to set off a major explosion. Sounds like that was their plan. There is no other reason to raid a gas factory.

That's because you only ever hear about the suspects that slipped through the net. There are thousands of these idiots to keep track of. In Europe, a lot of counterterrorism interventions don't end in arrests and are out of the public eye.

That too, but I think it primarily enrages people which makes it easier to rally them together to show a closed front against daesh. I think it's ok to report that.

Personally I think it's way more important to hide the recent progress, what police knows and doesn't know. Not a single news about how close the police is to catching them should be made until they actually did it. A successful operation is more important than us knowing everythung immediately.

I cannot help thinking about that poor man waking up this morning just like all of us, having coffee, breakfast, maybe kissing his family goodbye just to be decapitated a few hours later by some fanatics.. Jesus, this is getting out of control, where could we be safe these days?

Damn must be frustrating to only have your failures made public :/
