Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

Have a quick question maybe someone here may know since I did just a bit of looking around and found no info on it.

Since the 360 os is used through the X1 does anyone know if that allows you to play your custom music soundtracks while playing as you could on the 360?

If so how do you go about transferring your saved soundtracks over to the X1 if possible?Is it possible to save those to the cloud and transfer like you can with game saves etc?

I would try it out myself but not possible at moment since I have let my niece borrow my 360 for awhile. Any info would be appreciated.
 
Does Mass Effect from the Mass Effect Trilogy game work or does it have to be the stand-alone Mass Effect game that was originally published my Microsoft?
 
Have they said anything about adding games to Preview over the coming months or is the current selection all we'll have until it goes public?
 
I'm enjoying the fact that I can play mass effect again but man the slowdown in some of the combat areas is quite bad now, dunno if it's because i'm in more detailed areas or the emulation is having issues, sometimes it feels more then just vsync causing the frame drops.

I hope we can test an update sooner rather then later for the game.

I turned off grain and blur and it still plays way too terrible for me. I'm back to playing it on my 360 for now. =\
 
Just played Viva Piñata, Super Meatboy, and Zuma in case anyone wants to add games from my account. All played well, great feature! Want Geo Wars 2 please.

So basically the method to play BC games you own if you're not on the preview is not working anymore.

Any other workaround?

Would like to play some battle block theater :(

geo wars 2? I thought it was the first one only as i'm not seeing retro evolved 2 appear in my download listing.
 
So with getting access to BC stuff that you previously had as a downloadable title, do you have to do any license transfers, or does it just pull it directly from your account history?

As of now, you don't have to do anything besides putting your saves into the cloud and redownload the game.
 
Are there any guides or faqs out there for moving old saves and/or game settings to the cloud storage and make it available to the BC layer. I think I understand some of it but still feel a little intimated and would appreciate something I could read through.

Go to your storage tab in the 360 settings, find the game you want to move saves on, find the save file and/or settings file, hit a, and select move or copy to cloud storage. Some games don't let you copy saves so you may just have to move them.

After that, they'll show up in the cloud storage on the one.
 
They need to bring an XB360 store to XB1 with the BC games. I love to just be able to buy them from there. I never bothered to download games to my XB360 because I only had the 20GB version.

I agree that this would be nice, however they need to fix the current version of the store first. It's already a disorganized mess; throwing a bunch of 360 games into the mix would just make it worse.

A single tab or category for Xbox 360 games surely wouldn't be messy.

I hate downloading On X360. IP locked, region locked and to top it off, can't use MS credit on the website.

Sigh...

back when the store used microsoft points you could use them right? such a silly change to limit it to credit card only after so many years.

A 360 section of the store would be awesome but I think the overall presentation of the xbox one store needs a redesign, hopefully in the next big dash update.

Yeah, no MS credit via store is bizarre.

They really hate my money.
 
OK so my Xbox 360 has had multiple accounts on it, games and DLC were spread across all of the accounts but I no longer have access to all the accounts. Is there any way to get the licenses transferred to an account, or even to the X1? Do you think they'll add the option?
 
I wonder what will happen with games where the IP is in limbo. Something like Kingdoms of Amalur, for example. IIRC no one bought the rights in the auction so will it never receive bc? I assume games like Too Human won't be backwards compatible since Silicone Knights isn't allowed to sell it anymore after the lawsuit.

Unlikely. They don't move content between accounts, doubly so if you don't have access to them....

For any you do still have, just sign them in on the x1 and bingo.

Yep. You can also get thief right now (not sure if this will be BC though since there's a next gen version, but it's worth a try). www.xbox.com search for the games and you should be able to purchase them.

When Gears 3 becomes available, go to the Xbox website and "buy" the game there. It'll be added to your 360 library regardless if you have a 360. You'll obviously need to have an active XBL Gold subscription before you do this though.

For a game to become BC, the publisher needs to grant permission, so, yeah.

sadly you need access to the account and even then you would have to log into it on xbox one to get the content and play it.

I have geowars1, SotN, Sonic 1 and some other early xbla games on an old account but I don't remember the login for it as it was a long time ago and the account got nuked due to microsofts credit card removal policies back then.
