Abel does pretty well against divekick characters

I disagree. His anti-air tools are lacking and while he does have options, they all require really key spacing and timing or else your moves get counter hit. High-pressure chars (which most dive-kick chars are) also tend to be an issue simply because his escape options are low without meter and even then are not completely safe and require a lot of guessing. It's nice that he has a lot of health and does a lot of damage while dive-kick chars are usually low health, but those matchups are still more frustrating than most.
