SHENMUE 3 kickstarter (PC/PS4) - FINAL DAY - NEW KS RECORD GO GO GO!

Finally, a physical version for the PS4! Now I'm hoping for a Steelbook version.

Seems like they will be able to hit the $5 million mark, although I really hope they can hit the $10 million mark.
 
Amazing, look at the backer and pledges go up!

And we still have Twitter Q&A with Suzuki later tonight. Now we need updates on Shenmue 1 & 2 HD before end of campaign.
 
Awesome day for the Kickstarter. They really turned this around today. Hoping the momentum can keep on coming. Let's hope they add the Bro Edition soon, guys!

So... Was the phyiscal PS4 shenmue 3 announcement what just caused GAF to go down? What a time to be alive. If someone told you this would be happening this time last year you'd think they were nuts!
 
welcome back, GAF!

amazed some of the larger tiers are still open. this groundswell of support is coming from the bottom. this bodes well for the end when the final rush comes in.

Nah, GAF was down way before that.

It's great to see the campaign moving again, let's hope they'll have something in stock keep the interest until the end.
 
This is already the 4th best day for the Kickstarter. Could end end the day as the third if the pace keeps up.

I pledged $60 today myself, for the PC version.
 
Awesome day for Shenmue 3! Very pleased to see that 30 on the 3rd was having a real effect even before the reward additions today!

Also, AJ apologized which was cool, but also unnecessary. The ship has been righted and it is clear they have been listening to us even without that apology! At least now maybe the insane rabid people calling for their jobs will take it down a notch.

Let's all bask in it today. The whole day is clearly a big win for all of us.
 
over 6 and a half hours left of 'today' according to kicktraq. we could easily break 4,200,000 at this rate. or even higher.

feels good after the last two weeks. really setting the tone for the next two i hope. 5 million must be a cert by now. god, maybe even 6 is totally in the bag at this rate.
 
Just upped from $5 to $60 for that PS4 physical edition. I'm enjoying watching the counter go up!

By the way, are AJ apologising for the red shirt guy, or just for the stream going down for a few minutes at the beginning?
 
annnd we're back. Haven't done anything else tonight other than watch the figures go up and follow twitter hehe.

Those new rewards, physical PS4, $30 on the 3rd in conjunction with the tweetathon are going really well. We'll be passing Torment as the 2nd most funded game on KS later on tonight if this keeps up! GJ guys :D
 
Can someone describe what type of game Shenmue is to me? Looking at some gameplay videos on Youtube, it seems like visual novel with some exploration. Is that correct? What genre would you classify these games as?
 
just added $30 to my pledge. The Kickstarter should be way more interesting now that we're actually close to some new stretch goals again
 
This has really taken off today. With the campaign and new rewards. >$120k from the PS4 physical. Even more than that for the new higher tier rewards.
 
Good.. Its now on Pace on being the highest Kickstarter for a game ever....Lets try to push it as close to 10 million as we can... NOTHING STOPS THIS TRAI- I MEAN FORKLIFT!!!!

AJ apology was nice but the next 14 days are crucial. I hope they step their game up in tonight's Twitter Q&A with Suzuki. In addition they need to release new video and polish What's Shenmue section as it's still a little unclear.

Still it's great to see the momentum and excitement back in campaign.
 
Man I so wanted to be in here with you guys for all of this. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the PS4 physical version added and read the update. What a fucking spectacular day for the campaign. We had so much planned from the fans and AJ just electrocuted everyone with some awe-inspiring and momentum generating updates that have acted as a powerful catalyst and sky rocketed funding over 200K today so far. And the major updates were only three hours ago. Just wait until the wider games press post stories about this over the coming days. The momentum should hold IMO. This is the most momentum we've seen since the start of the campaign. We're almost definitely surpassing Bloodstained now. Even Kavinksy gave us a shout out!

I was so desperate to get in here during all of this. I got my fix over at ShenmueDojo instead and hung out with those guys for all the chaos lol.

It's like that but if you mixed in a bit of Virtua Fighter, racing and kitten petting.

action RPG with life sim aspects, mini-games, and a modified virtua fighter fighting system

poor Awesome Japan apologizing made me feel bad...things are improving guys, keep it up.
 
Hope we knock down these $4 million+ goals easily. Not going to lie though. That $5.1 million - $6 million gap in the stretch goals is going to be hard.

It's hard to really describe. Certainly has a lot more freedom than a visual novel. You're free to do whatever you want. You can move the story along if you wish or get lost in the world. There's people with schedules you can follow if you really wanted. Tons of mini games and sometimes classic games made by You Suzuki to pass time while you wait for a certain time in the game. Shenmue 2 has more free battles to participate in, finding move scrolls to level up, different jobs to make money, gamble, hidden easter eggs like duck racing and underground fights.
 
Wow, that made a huge difference! Awesome news. Glad they made some very necessary improvements to their KS, I hope they will keep this ball rolling. Next two weeks will be interesting!
 
I'm not a fan of Shenmue (Never played it) but GAF hype has me interested in the franchise and seeing all the huge pledges are incredible to see. Fans are truly making this game happen and as an industry element I find this amazing.

I want to get into Shenmue but I will have to wait for the almost inevitable Shenmue HD Collection, because after this successful E3 reveal -> Kickstarter it has been hugely popular, "Project Berkely" will be revived and if SEGA allow it to happen, Shenmue 1 & 2 using Unreal Engine 4 will be sweet and I will get it, I already have a friend interested in Shenmue too.
The fan hype is what excites us, seeing the hardcore fans that have stuck with the game since the beginning all these years, and especially the famous GT reaction video that I've watched about a dozen times (among other FF7R and Shenmue 3 reaction videos)
 
Yay, hugs and handshakes for ShenmueIII-GAF on this momentous day. I upped my pledge from $30 to $160 and I am in for that physical PS4.

I can't believe how quickly we passed not just Mighty no.9, but Project Eternity as well and got the first Baisha expansion stretch goal, a buttload of new pledgers (over 600 for today already) and the days not over yet.

3rd highest game and 11th highest of all time.

A question I've been meaning to ask, since I'm now dealing with physical goods, does it figure in shipping costs itself or do I have to figure that out myself?

Yeah the community outreach has been amazing.

I would wait to see if they release a Shenmue 1 & 2 HD which I think has to be on the cards. Now let's hope Sega can their act in gear.
