PC: Ori and the Blind Forest 75%off - 4.99$ @Steam (possible price mistake)

Bought. Thanks OP!

How long is this game? Wondering if I can knock it out quickly to avoid it sinking into my backlog.

Is it immoral to buy this if it's on sale as a mistake? Will the devs get less than they should?

I look at it this way: I wasn't going to buy Ori for some time, until a big sale anyway. Now they have my money for sure, months sooner. It's a sale that may not otherwise have happened.

They can probably get more out of sales by slowly staggering out the discounts, I'm sure they have a plan for it, but maybe we shouldn't worry too much for them suddenly getting a bunch of buzz and unexpected sales on a digital product, even if they aren't getting as much out of it as they would at normal price.

Thanks OP, bought it. Would have waited for a similar price anyway before buying it, so I don't have to feel bad if it's really a price error.

My thoughts go like this:

I wasn't going to buy the game until much later (2016 Summer sale) but this price is too good to pass up, so instead of not getting my money until down the road (or never) they are getting it now.

not sure if its a pricing mistake or not but I wanted to play this since it came out and I no longer have an xbox one console.

for 5$. I just bought it.

Of course it's not immoral.

The company is offering a good for a price. You agree to price, you receive the good.

If a company fails to perform its diligence in checking the price before putting it for sale, that is the company's own failure, and says nothing of the morality of a consumer being willing to accept that offer of sale.

Agreeing to an offered price is not immoral. It's commerce.

Damnit, of course, PayPal is being a bitch. Shitty echeques. Oh well, I guess I'll get this some other time.

Is it worth it to buy another copy and try to get a refund on a copy bought during the Summer sale? It's been more than 2 weeks and I played it for 6 hours (completed it once).

edit: I can't even find the dialog choice for refunding it because it was cheaper.

Thanks for your thoughts, all. Certainly curious to hear what Thomas has to say.

In the meantime, assuming the sale is intentional and still live this evening, am I correct in thinking I can play it on a Mac w/ Bootcamp? Is there any other way?

Okay, just found a post from two weeks ago by Thomas Mahler saying that Ori won't go lower than 40% for the rest of the year. So, yeah, this definitely looks like a pricing error.

or there is a mind change due to poor sales maybe ?

I seriously was looking at picking it up finally for the One about 2 hours ago and held off.
Perfect timing OP. Thank you.
Hope my 660 Ti plays it decently. If not will check it out when I build my new PC later in the year.

Shovel Knight devs said something similar and went back on it multiple times. It is entirely possible that this is something they want to do rather than a mistake. Equally so, it could be a mistake

Everybody buy this its perfect and one of the best game of 2015.

Bought it for $14 and it was worth every penny.

Pretty damn good for an indie platformer.

Will be interesting to see what that number is in a couple of days to see how many folks jumped on this deal.

It's still up. How long does it take them to fix pricing mistakes? Could it be intentional? The timing makes it a great FU to Microsoft and the X1 sale. Awfully convenient.

That's a really shitty thing to do.

Tell me you're kidding.
