I thought it would be everyones name who pledge would be added to the temple? Might be a bit of a paint trying to find your own though xD Then the scroll probably comes as an additional code.
I was doing the same in my last playthrough, so much time wasted X.x
But then anyone could do it. Stare at a name and you will get a scroll...
I appreciate his passion but he doesn't sell the games well at all.
It's only for those who selected the reward. I assume there'll be a player specific code to unlock this stuff?

$80 tier seems like a great idea & just the kinda thing they should be doing; costs them prolly next to nothing, does something fans dig & encourages all the $60 physical backers to go in just a bit more

I don't like content exclusive stuff like this, same for Bloodstained, but I understand why it's being done to encourage more funds.

They should add a stretch goal or two to fill that 900,000 gap between 5.1 and 6 million. One at 5.6 would be good so we can aim for being the most funded game project on Kickstarter!
It's written "spoiler" at the begining so i'm not sure many new players will watch it.

The 80$ reward thing i think is pretty fair.
For people that can't or don't want to up their pledge, think of it this way: You are giving up on some phone calls in exchange of a better combat system and other goals.
It's something pretty small to miss in exchange of reaching those goals.

They really should add lower costs tiers like the $80.00 stuff or even lower. There are surely many people that would jump in to simply help out who aren't invested into the game as much as we are.
For example (and I doubt this would be possible) but what if they offered a tier with PC versions of the first and second games? Maybe smaller tiers with just T-shirts, small knick knacks, or soundtracks...They (in my opinion) are focusing too much on higher tiers and what most people aren't willing to buy.

391 so far for today.
With crowdfunded funded more so than other game I find the negative reactions to the walling off of content less understandable, especially with digital rewards versus physical rewards. Once the dialogue and scenes for the telephone calls/ flashbacks are in game they can be duplicated with little additional expense, so the more people who are pledging at those tiers the less the overall cost of the reward is and the more of the total those people have raised can go towards game development, which benefits everyone who gets the game.
While I don't think anybody's contribution level should be poo-poo'd, the simple fact of the matter is that some people have contributed way more to increasing the funding than others and yet everyone benefits from that.

Oh man I got too excited. It's all good. The two new rewards are keeping it going at a good pace. Might end up going to that tier near the end of this.
I just want to clarify that not everyone who dislikes game content behind Kickstarter tiers is lacking the money to get said content. I'm currently at $175 and would still prefer game content be left off the rewards table. If you assume everyone who isn't happy with this specific reward just can't afford it, it's very easy to dismiss these people as simply envious.

The update says that tiers higher than $80 also receive it, so yes that should be the case.

I'm surprised that they haven't added a Phoenix adn Dragon Mirror tier yet. Maybe they can't find an artisan who can make them for cheap enough?

Does it make sense for Ryo to have Nozomi's number since she up an moved? If not then have it be something gained later in the game after some weeks pass and several calls to Ine and Fuku. Like eventually they get a letter from Nozomi with her new number included to pass along to Ryo. Or Ine gets it early on but says nothing cause she's upset or worried about Ryo, an later on Fuku finds out an spills the beans.
Also it would be dumb if all the calls were available the first opportunity ya get ta use a phone. Different peeps should be available at different times ya know.

Yeah that definitely sounds plausible and I agree. It'll probably be a case of Ryo ringing and not getting any answer or something. I'm sure they'll work it in well.
Let's just hope that Goro is one of those other characters, guys. Hopefully you'll just be walking past the payphone one day and it's ringing. you pick it up and it's Goro and he's like "Brooooo, where have you beeeeeeeeen?!"

I don't see the big deal with this content...I'd be more concerned over exclusive quests or something like that.
Guys...Shenmue III is happening. Just last year, if all of us were given the choice of missing out on a conversation or two in the game vs the game not existing at all, we'd all take the deal. Let's look on the bright side a bit, huh?

That would be cool too. Problem is with something like that is trying to fit it in to the higher tiers. Like which higher tiers would get the steelbook and which won't? You can't rewrite them so it might cause problems with the tier pricing. You would have to create multiple accounts just to buy it separately. Unless they add "add-ons". You can see how it could get complicated.
