This is kind of why I went with the $100 option. I will be honored and happy to have my name in the credits of a game many thought was never going to happen. I love this series so much my first tattoo was Shenmue inspired, and I've also always though Yu Suzuki was one of the greatest creators of our time. So I couldn't be happier than to help out with his dream project.
tell us more about the tattoo.
Will I still have the PS4 physical option?
I'm already at 100, and name in the credits would be cool. But I wanted to be certain I had the boxed console release.

I've been looking for a reaction video of the E3 venue at the moment of the reveal. With the full uncut audio of the audience at the auditory (in the official stream they rapidly cut the audio to the Yu Suzuki video). And I think I more or less found it:

I think that just because he is listed as a character we can call doesn't mean he won't show up. There's so much they could do with the story that anything is possible. Wouldn't rule it out.
My buddy agreed to pay for my first tattoo as a gift for being the best man at his wedding. I wanted something Shenmue related and decided on getting the dragon and phoenix mirror. I had a really hard time finding reference pictures with clear lines for the artist to use and eventually came across this picture.

Didn't want him to use the same color palette but to use it as a reference for his own idea. He produced the tattoo below, which I'm happy with, but I know I want my next Shenmue tattoo to be more recognizable.
As first tattoos go, it could be much worse, but now I'm on the hunt for a good reference photo for a future Shenmue tattoo. Any suggestions? =P
Nozomi English voice actress was probably the best English language actor in the first Shenmue.

Shenmue had a pretty big impact in the UK. It's definitely well thought of amongst gamers I know and even people who don't play anymore.
Incidentally I was at a Games Exhibition at the National Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland a few months ago and Yu Suzuki was one of the featured creators, they had a bunch of his games there including Shenmue running on a Dreamcast on playable display.
This was alongside Mario and Pac-Man games etc.
It was real nice.

That's awesome Hello Games is backing Shenmue 3.
Maybe they can announce publishing support for the XB1 version. I'd be happy with Shenmue 1 & 2 HD announcement.
Sitting through the credits for Shenmue 1 & 2 was an accomplished itself, they were so long lol. Dat music though...very few games have made me feel like I've been through such a journey as those two games.

yeah it shows on mobile. nice tattoo. most gaming tattoos are kinda junk but that one really works.
Pledged $60, which was my limit, but that $80 reward is tempting, and then $20 more I have my name in the credits, a (tiny) part of Shenmue history forever...
Then again looks like there will be maybe 10,000 people with that reward. Will take one hell of a long time for those credits to roll and to spot my name, haha! The funds keep rolling in quite nicely. I hope it keeps up. 5 million will be surpassed in less than a day, I think we might reach 7 by the end, BEFORE any last minute influx of backers. Fingers crossed! We're going to get an actual, honest to god, new Shenmue game in a couple of years (or so, I expect delays to be fair).

Hey thanks. He wanted to make it fit my leg better than the disc shape would.
Still open to suggestions for other Shenmue related tattoos if anyone comes up with anything lol.

Shenmue is a tree that Yu invented. It's flowers are called Shenhua which is where Shenhua gets her name.

I tend to think that he refers to Baisha as main area. I think we will see others locations,like Chi Yu Men HQ and probably Shenmue 2's Guilin at least

Bailu and Chobu will be in the game no matter what as well. But yeah, at 5 mill we will get the full sized Baisha, which seems to be the most important area in the game.
