Chances of a non-school girl Sakura rising.

chances of Sakura being in the game period is rising.

Ken broke the whole notion of there being only one shoto. And everyone in the cast for SFV so far is from Alpha 2. Cammy was added to Alpha 2 in later revisions, and it was implied that she's there due to popular demand as opposed to normal planning.

Hey FGC-GAF going to Evo, anyone up for a Thursday night hang out like I did last year in my room? I can bring a monitor and if anyone wants to bring USF4 or a game with a 360 that would be awesome.

Good luck in SF4 3DS brother

I might come through if I don't go to that EVO pre-party, if thats cool

That don't look like no Akuma to me
Looks like a new version of Blanka.

I'm totally up for it. Hell I'll be there since Wednesday so if anyone wants to organize something that day I'll also be up for it...just actually tell me where this time lol

For sure. Last year we had around 10 people hanging out, shooting the breeze, and getting some USF4 in.

I'll post again next Wednesday and then people can PM me or tweet at me on Thursday for room number/time stuff

Yeah that's definitely a shoto.

Combofiend with the obvious PR lie to build up hype.

It's basically a Capcom curse at this point. You can't be at Capcom without saying some completely bull shit or false statement.

I thought Combofiend only said that Ken is different than Ryu?
He said that they want to shy away from clones (specifically shoto clones).

I mean yeah Ken and Ryu aren't "clones" in the strictest sense but they aren't different enough in their moveset to be saying otherwise. They are still within the same archetype of having fireballs, SRK and Hurricane kicks.

I was right. The V trigger makes you auto dash forward.

It's a (quick) run, and you can do different attacks out of it. Basically his step kicks/fakes/etc all come out of his run depending on your input.

He can also V-Skill run cancel his normals, according to people on twitter.

Neat. Looks like Ken has Orochi Chris style double fire uppercuts. Those are pretty nice and the tatsu that dashes in fast and lifts them looks good too. Plus that damage...hit confirms into Shoryuken will MATTER with him.

I think you should check your facts before accusing someone of lying. Combofiend never said Ken wasn't a shoto, in their reveal slides they called him a shoto, the confusion started because of Max's tweet.

And you should read my previous post.

Combofiend clearly implied that they want to shy away from shoto clones in SFV in his past interview. They announce a shoto character in SFV after already showcasing Ryu. So his previous statement about shying away from clones is false, it's obvious that Capcom is still ok with having these archetypes.

I wasn't even talking about Max's tweet.

On a side note though Ken's fire effects are really nice.

Street Fighter V looks great so far. Also, it's great to see Capcom take a classic like Ken and change him quite a bit.

It's like you're a Smash player all of a sudden with the talk of clones. Ken looks like he plays radically different from Ryu, but you're insisting with your incorrect link a few posts above that Combofiend is saying there are no clones whatsoever.

i dunno, gameplay wise they look pretty different now.

Ken's hair looks way better in motion. In fact, screen shots don't do SFV justice at all.

I'm glad they made Ken more of his own thing. It's been a long time coming. Still wish he had Sean's wheel kick and Ryu had his mule kick, though.

Also, I was really hoping they would save his fire effects for his V-Trigger but he seems to get a fiery SRK on HP like usual. He's got a Shakunetsu so the Ryu/Electricity & Ken/Flames dynamic is still there.

By the way, what does his V-Trigger actually do? Just more damage?

Yeah. I mean, that's why people, including me, thought Ken wasn't going to be on the initial roster
I thought that either Ken wasn't going to be in it or if he was going to be in it he would basically not have a Fireball and would have completely different kick moves (and just retain his fire DP). He retains all of his stuff from SF4, just the tweaks that all the other characters got as well like Ryu/Chun Li. They didn't even give him a kick fireball from Omega mode.

Bison received a much bigger change than Ken when all is said and done.

I personally don't mind any of this but you can't say something in an interview and then release something contradictory. It's why people don't put much stock into PR lip service these days (or at least they shouldn't).

I read your link, where does he implies anything about shoto clones? Give me a quote.
And Ken plays differently from Ryu, so right now we have only two shotos that play differently, I don't see any problem with supposed "clones".

Today's focus is on character selection as well as pacing. One of the more blatant tips from Combofiend: "Our goal is to make sure there's a character for everyone's style... We want to shy away from clones."
.

Ken played different from Ryu in SF4 as well but they were still both shotos just like they are shotos in SFV as well. Again I don't have an issue with them being shotos or clones or whatever... I just have an issue with them saying something and delivering something else.

It's pretty silly to make some of these conclusions when no one has had enough time with the character (or game for that matter). Having similar moves isn't indicative of anything.

Shying away means only one shoto?

They're not clones though. What he says there isn't a lie or false.
