Bumblebee didn't get Optimus killedHot Rod > Bumblebee
Bumblebee didn't get Optimus killed
Are we expecting Platinum to deliver a great action game based on a beloved franchise? Hmm.
Have you ever played a Platinum game before? They have their duds like Korra but games like Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta 2 are amazing action games
You? IDK. Me? Thinking of Korra.
Alright. Now from everything except the character art, does this look more like Korra or like MGR/Bayo design? Be honest.
I could be completely wrong here and I'll be the first one happy about a great TF game (I loved the first Cybertron game, will check out 2 as well), but I just can't imagine this turning out great.
shrug
it's the truth, and we all know it. They stick out like a sore thumb in almost all platinum games
Just because the combat is their bread and butter doesn't mean other aspects should be off limits for criticism

o say the gameplay itself looks bad ? No, no it doesn't. Korra wasn't a bad game either, it was just obviously a cut down PG game but even that's better than a lot of other games.
Game looks great. The transformers themselves look spot on. If you want to stare at gorgeous backgrounds go "play" something else. The backgrounds just match the art of the game and the old cartoon. Go load up an old G1 episode. These environments are true to that. They are simple and your attention is drawn to what matters. The huge transforming robots fighting.
The people throwing around the term generic for the combat are making me sick. At least this game has a pretty decent chance to be fun to play as opposed to the usual dire combat we get from pretty games like Batman and TW3.

I think Hot Rod atoned when he threw Galvatron into deep space and obliterated Unicron.
Unfortunately those brave actions were tainted because he had to become boring, bland-ass Rodimus to do it, and that's after screwing Ultra Magnus. Hotrod, although cool, was a smh screw up. And honestly, nothing atones for getting Optimus killed. I know that seems unfair, but that's just the way it is
But on to brighter topics. My main robot Soundwave better be in this. I see that hack Shockwave made the cut, but I haven't noticed Soundwave. No Ke- er... Soundwave, no buy.
Here's in. There's video footage of his boss fight, but I don't have the link offhand.Unfortunately those brave actions were tainted because he had to become boring, bland-ass Rodimus to do it, and that's after screwing Ultra Magnus. The transformations and slow motion dodging has me thinking of Bayonetta 2 and I just get a Rising feeling in general watching the combat. Obviously we're looking at a lower budget but I think Korra always looked pretty dull. Mechanically, this looks much more fun than that game.
I'm really in love with the 'Spark' effect when in combos.

Is Grimlock's VA still around? Talk about inimitable.
I don't know how anyone can call this one way or another yet. There are kinda bland arenas in Bayonetta 1/2 and MGR that you could use as a one off showing that would make you think "Ehh, there isn't much to this game." Likewise, there are encounters in Korra when you unlock all the bending styles and moves that could make you think "That has to be part of a big Platinum Games campaign." We don't really know a lot at this point.

Would Optimus have even shot Megatron before he grabbed the blaster if Hotrod didn't run in though?
Bayformers Optimus? He'd have shot out Megatron's eyes, ripped his arms off, and beaten him with them.
Not sure if this was already posted, but here's a direct feed playthrough of the demo level from Gamespot. Battle music is goddamn amazing, like omg. Some nice implications for the third-person shooter mechanics.
I thought it was the Korra game the Rising team was working on? Who did Korra then?

Transformers is directed by Kenji Saito (the director of Rising). Korra wasn't IIRC. No clue about the rest of the staff.
I'm pretty sure at E3 they mentioned a lot of the Bayo2 staff moving over to this project.
Man, this shit really is Bayonetta, right down to the transformation combo enders replacing wicked weaves, vehicle transform for panther within, there's a bat within teleport, even a lot of similar animations.

I don't think we've seen an equivalent to Moon of Mahla Kahla or MGR's parry yet. I wonder if there is one.
