Oh, the character isn't filler. Just the fight with him was filler. In the manga they show up to the temple and begin their attack, then it cuts back to Naruto training, then it cuts back to Hidan and Kakuzu having killed everyone. All of this was the same chapter where it showed them having killed the two-tails jinchuriki, who they also off-paneled, and was shown while Kakashi was still explaining how the training was going to work.

There isn't much Filler in One Piece and most of it is incorporated in canon scenes in a way that makes it impossible to remove. One Piece Kai wouldn't be as helpful as Dragonball Kai was.

Yeah the Funi dvd's have a marathon option on the main menu screen which basically plays all the episode like a full movie

Plays first OP and last ED, IIRC if the OP/ED changes during a disc they'll play the ED the last time it plays and the new OP for it's first episode
