I'm thrilled that the source material basically gives Platinum free-reign to design a ton of humanoid bosses, which they're, like, the best at. Music and presentation are already off the charts. Just hope the scenario design holds up.

Hot Rod needs another chance in cartoons already. The UK Comics had him and his Rodimus persona in a lot stories, and the current comics are doing him justice.

Yes he did in fact have a space craft modled after his head made; and it works too!
Hell you guys worry about him 'killing Optimus', in the comics he reimnded Optimus why he is THE PRIME, and why makes the title of a Prime great and noble.

I wonder how that would work the the emphasis on shooting? Might be why there isn't one. I hope the S rank requirements are similar to Rising's, where most fights only require a fast time and no damage. Fuck style, I'm all bout dat efficiency

Platinum games is a Japanese studio right? These guys are all over the place these days, and rightfully so because this looks bad ass. Takes me back to my childhood sitting in front of the TV on Saturday mornings watching cartoons.

I barely remember G1 but I have been reading IDW's G1 Reboot lately, hope we get a sequel with Arcee, Drift, Whirl, Windblade, Jazz & Ultra Magnus.

I've been hardly thinking about or playing games for over a year since all this adult stuff started happening in my life and I haven't jumped into current gen because I thought I might be done playing for good, but this game looks so amazing - I'm so excited to play it!! I might buy a PS4 just for this!

The people doubting this are weird to me. Platinum has had one major misstep in Korra amongst their stellar track record. The only people I can see not being interested in this are those who just aren't into fast-paced character action (but then why would they be in a thread about a P* game anyway?).

Holy shit, that looks absolutely great. I still can't get over how they went with the classic Generation 1 aesthetic and rounded up all those original voice actors. Such a good decision.
If The Touch is in this game I will freak.

Played this (VERY) briefly at E3. I'm not a Transformers fanatic, as I never got into the show as a kid, but it was pretty fun.
Nope. You're better off reading the new comic series by IDW.

I've been thinking, and the bosses we've seen are reminding me of Rising's in terms of types. We've seen a ton of "humanoid" bosses (Megatron, Constructicons, Soundwave, Starscream) and only one large boss (Devastator). Platinum does the best humanoid bosses by far, so I'm hoping there's a Rising-style distribution with a large number of smaller bosses and just a few large bosses to keep things interesting.

That's the one that got me. I'm so fed up of the BayFormers "Bumblebee can't talk" shtick that even managed to sneak into the the High Moon games.
From what I hear, Dan Gilvezan was pretty irritated by it, too. Imagine seeing all these other voice actors from back in the day suddenly getting work again as these characters make a massive resurgence with a string of international blockbusters and cross media products, with your character more central than ever before...and they made him mute. This is the kind of thing that inspires Shakespearean rage monologues.

Changing the Beast Within/Transformation input to a hold instead of a double tap definitely resembles the Vanquish powerslide, and we've never seen subweapons more seamlessly integrated into a Platinum game. These Transformers have Bayonetta's Witch Time and Wicked Weaves, Raiden's parry (and hopefully his bosses, too), Sam Gideon's powerslide and Korra's graphics

Watch the 1986 movie. The marvel 80s comics are good too, with more complex history than the cartoon.
I don't even get why Korra gets so much hate. It's a super budget game. The combat still ended up pretty good and the last boss was straight up Platinum craziness.

It was a pretty decent game considering how small the budget from Acti must have been.

If you want actual good Generation 1 stuff, read the 80s UK and Marvel comics (they're collected).

I think it's just due to Optimus' charisma and the fact that he transforms into a simple bad-ass semi truck. Plus, Optimus was battling an all-star roster of legendary Decepticons at the height of Transfomers popularity. I mean classic villains like Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Ravage, Rumble, Constructicons / Devastator, Hot Rod...
Rodimus got stuck with Galvatron and the Sweeps.
Hot Rod's design and personality were really cool, but Rodimus was eh... Plus Rodimus' design was kind of weak. Like what did he transform into back in the day? A rocket-powered RV?
Hot Rod getting a second chance in cartoons or this game (!!) would be great, as long as he doesn't become Rodimus. Or get in Optimus' way agai- wait.
How awesome would it be if there was team battle in this game and you could pick Hot Rod? The trolling would be glorious! How often do you think we'd see Hot Rod players intentionally getting in the way of others' shots, especially Prime's? Haha! This needs to happen! I couldn't even really get mad at it
The movie is. Not sure I'd recommend the series itself though.
I love it, but it's rough. I doubt someone without nostalgia would enjoy it. Watch the movie though, it's insanely good.

Great to be able to hear the voices, music and sound effects without all the interview chatter. Actually being able to hear Sideswipe's voice, I think they got Michael Bell as well. Just excellent. Shame Devastator sounds so wimpy.

I would love co-op but i'd say its out if we haven't seen it by now.
Coming to think of it, I can't think of any co-op Platinum games except for Bayo 2, Anarchy Reigns & W101, all of which had very good co-op game play.
