Street Fighter V Roster Discussion: P-P-P-P-PATTERN BREAKER

Vega makes the game not fun to play at all, especially if you main grapplers so fuck him.
I wouldn't mind Guile and I think he will show up eventually , by the final version this game will have double the cast or even more. Still waiting for Sodom, he has been my main in all the alpha series .

As for Remy i think he was the most interesting charger Capcom ever made but for some reasons the fans hated him so the chances of seeing him in another game are small...

Then again, I'm sure many here would rather see Blanka gone anyway, or at least the goofy Blanka from Alpha and IV (which I also like less than his classic more intimidating version from II).

I do agree with your wish for characters by the way, Q and Adon in particular.

I know people say he's a huge troll, but trolling your own favorite character to that character's home country and teasing it months in advance is beyond being a troll. If he honestly did that he'd be a complete prick.

I don't think either are going to make the release version.

I think Dudley is a medium chance of getting added later, he's placed 17th on the popularity poll so he's fairly popular. Play style is unique but he was in 3 and 4 and isn't super popular so I don't think he'll be an early add on.

Eagle is unlikely. He placed about 12th from last and was just barely above the characters who were never seen since SF1 despite him being higher profile due to his CvS2/PSP Alpha 3 appearence.

That being said I'd really like to see both make it.
 
I'd be disappointed if they don't bring Dudley back at all. He's one of my favorite Street Fighter characters. Thankfully it seems like plenty of other people like him as well so I'm not too worried. He definitely won't be in the initial roster, though.

No idea about Eagle, but it would be cool to see him back for sure. I would have preferred him over Birdie honestly.

It would be very weird to see a street fighter game without a boxer, and it's hard to imagine Capcom making a better boxer than Dudley.

I'll be waiting in anticipation though. I'm really just hoping this won't be like SF4 in that I don't have anyone on the initial roster I like.

The ridiculous amount of blanka references in the video make it obvious he's joking and that it's not about blanka at all.
I'm still puzzled how some people can take it at face value. The ultimate troll would actually be a blanka announcement.

By the way, odds are he will indeed announce a brazilian character, a real one, Blanka not being exaclty what people have in mind when they think about Brazil.
And if KB is to be believed it should be a new character named Laura.

I doubt they took that into consideration for the starting roster, but that's encouraging for future add ons. Would love to see him again.

Now that you mention it, they have all had boxers. I really don't think they would put more than two English characters in, but I'd be surprised if Balrog (Or Mike if they are even different characters) made it in.

I guess we'll see what happens. I feel you on SF4 though, I ended up using characters I would have normally not touched as my mains until Super came out.

Well I don't know how this guy does things and I'd honestly prefer no Blanka anyway. Regardless time will tell.

I love Remy, his juggle heavy play style, his melodramatic character, his contextless WTF story that's still kind of sad. I really put myself in a weird place when I choose Alex, Sean, and Remy as my mains in 3S.
 
I hope if R. Mika is in that her redesign is nice. I want a more mature and grown up R. Mika this time around.

I was thinking, urien comes back with birdie level of redesign. He still does his Barrier super but now instead of doing that push, he bounces people off with his stomach
 
Just to be clear, Capcom doesn't own the rights to the Street Fighter EX series characters, right? So I should pre-emptively give up on Garuda and Pullum making it in.

If it follows the current theme of anti-zoning, his v-skill would probably be a new move or the knee drop.

Maybe his v-skill would be an aegis reflector that broke after one hit and his v-trigger would make them last longer. It's very unlikely, but I think it could be cool.

Can't make a timer without a specific time. Unless you just mean when EVO itself starts, but keep in mind it lasts for like 3 days.

Cute grapplers are a rarity and she's the closest SF has come that made it past the actual design stage (RIP Abel's original design) That or maybe Mika could mature and Laura could be a cute grappler using BJJ or something instead :P

Well yeah... Sak is the most popular Zero/Alpha character hands down... polled the 6th highest in Capcom's official SF poll and Karin is pretty much her "Ken", would make more storyline sense... (and yeah I know Mika has ties to Karin too in Z/A 3)

We'll see @ TGS....

I'm guessing 2 characters @ Evo, NZ maori + someone, 2 characters @ TGS Karin + Mika/Sak and than the new Brazilian character @ the brazil event.

I dunno. Just going off the pic you chose it feels like there she's just kind of falling into the roles fulfilled by the existing female cast. We don't really have much of anything in regards to a more comic or non-serious girls except Sakura who feels less like she's intended to be amusing/silly and more like they're just trying too hard with the go-happy-lucky thing and punching right through into annoying (at least for me, I appreciate some like her XD )
Mika could definitely use some refining but making her chill or too serious kind of removes a lot of her uniqueness for me :3
For a point of reference, I play Platinum the trinity and May so that's the kind of ballpark of where I'm thinking when I say I appreciate someone who has some youthful energy and is a bit less serious :o

I always love it when I read about how popular Juri and Sakura are. They're both really good characters and nobody plays them. Gameplay has nothing to do with why those two shitty character designs are popular.
