Suicide Squad Official Trailer Drop

Not feeling it. Trying way too hard to jump on the Marvel cash train. Might actually turn out to be fun if I go in with 0% expectations. :D Same as Batman Vs Superman.

Lol. Other than it being a movie about super heroes these two are nothing like Marvel's films. DCs been on that train a long time.

Not really interested at all in the whole "ooh dark and edgy" thing DCU seems to be going for to distinguish themselves from MCU. No chance of these being anywhere near as successful as MCU movies, they just don't look fun in any way, shape, or form.
Worked for Dark Knight & Rises destroying everything but Avengers and a hype riding Iron Man 3.

If the YT views for Batman v Superman are any indication, that movie's going to be huge regardless. It's a name that sells itself. Suicide Squad coming on the heels of BvS mean its huge success will most likely be tied to BvS being decent.

Will Smith is in this, so none of this matters.

It feels like Will Smith took this role to sort of regain good will among mass audiences. He's usually does films where he is the sole star or at least the clear lead but after After Earth and most of his recent output it feels like he knows comic book movies are hot and he needs to get in on the action. I'm not complaining, I like Smith, it just struck me as odd to see the once king of the box office as a character most have never heard off in a very large ensemble with those who are better known, Joker/Harley etc.

Would you prefer they go the lighthearted route like Marvel? Looks like a hell of a lot of fun to me. I don't need jokes for something to be fun. Maybe try expanding your tastes? I can find the fun in both styles.

Dwelling on Capn. Boomerang, since the CW is separate from the cinematic universe does his existence mean Flash is already established in the DCU?

i'm glad the forehead tattoos aren't there (at least from what i can see)

I don't even really know what the premise of the movie is but it looks cool

Yo you left someone out but don't worry I got you covered.

He won't make it out of the film, so no worries

Sticking with her dying.
Extended Batfamily character with absolutely zero use for the foreseeable DCCU future,
Killing her gives them an easy off that can affect Batman but has zero impact on potential future Batman movies.
Especially after the "good guys" line in the Batman v Superman trailer.

If Batgirl, Huntress, Canary seemed like a possibility then I could see them saving her for a potential Birds of Prey movie.

She'll probably end up in Justice League Dark, assuming that's the sword totem/Soul sword. Her whole thing later on ends up being a spiritual warrior.

She never became a member of JLD though, which was upsetting. She worked so well during Trinity War...

Plus, she has been pushed a good bit, so I'm not banking on her dying. In fact, I don't think many people will die. Slipknot and El Diablo. Hopefully Killer Croc (I don't understand the fascination with this character) in order to make way for King Shark.

Depends. Boomerang could predate Flash in this 'verse, or they could have cropped up after MoS/BvS.

Boomerang's origin doesn't have to be tied to Flash. Though it sounds like Flash might exist in some form already

Ah I see I see. I was only musing because Flash seems like he's usually the one who turns in his rogues but I guess Waller's opening lines could be interpreted as her and her men being the ones who apprehend everyone to start.

The people complaining for the most part don't read comics though.

Which is exactly why they dont know who any of the other characters are. Joker and Harley are bigger than just the comics, they have a strong pop culture presence. That is why so much attention is focused on them.

+ Leto's Joker cackle / pale white look
+ Music is great in the trailer, "the joke is on me"
+ Love Croc's design, I hope he throws a giant rock at the Batman
- Will Smith looks out of place

It would be crazy if the Joker was torturing Robin in that scene, but it's probably Harley?

No, I think it's just you because apparently you don't like Daredevil the TV show version. You think it's boring and just meh. It seems like dark and gritty superhero movies and TV shows are just not for you and that's fine!

No kidding, I personally thought this blew away the BvS trailer. I was scratching my head for the longest time wondering how the movie would work with the characters they assembled, and I had pretty mixed feelings about the actor choices (boy were we wrong about Leto), but right now they sold me on the tone of this trailer. It's the easily the most refreshing thing I've seen out of cape flicks these few years, bar GotG.

Looks good, trailer interested me a lot more than the Bat v Sup one.

Killer Croc completely practical make up and effects?

Would you care to make any ban bets regarding how well the movies will do? :)

I had zero interest in this which has now been bumped up a good deal. I'm still confused as to why DC has decided to use a villain supergroup movie full of characters most have never heard of as one of the films tasked with getting the DCCU off the ground. Yes, GotG was a bunch of characters no one knew but at that point Marvel had gained enough of a reputation and we all knew it was connected to the previous films we loved. I'm even more confused why they would decide to finally use Harley in a live action film only to leave her most memorable characteristic, her accent, in the transition.

I actually love that it's the opposite of Guardians.

Both are brilliant ways to introduce Z-level characters to mainstream audiences.

Well, you will always have the Disney movies.

The only sore spot is Will Smith playing bald Will Smith.

I'm guessing Arrow's Deadshot will remain better.

He even delivers the "suicide squad" line better.

"Welcome to the Suicide Squaaaaad."

I completely disagree. I love the dark and edgyness they are going for. Getting tired of the themepark, disneyland "feel" of the latest marvel movies.

I'm kind of glad I can enjoy both the lighthearted stuff Marvel pumps out and these gritty movies DC is doing.

No need to take sides for me.

More likely to be Harleen, from the looks of it.

That's Cara again, as is the shot with Kinnaman(?) in that office.

Why is that the only one people responded to? Lol.

I'm laughing at the butthurt of Warner's posting on Facebook. What the fuck did they expect?

Will Smith talking like Will Smith does in every movie he "acts" in ruined all potential for me. So out of place.

Such a shit actor.

No kidding. The Marvel movies rock but I totally welcome the morbid tone of this movie. It's gonna have funny more than likely obviously but anyone expecting something as bouncy and friendly as GotG will be out of luck from the looks of it.

Unlike Marvel, DC doesn't need to rely on bad humor to be fun. Action and actually interesting characters are all DC needs.
