Why the hell Konami still thinks they can get away with this shit after past months shitstorms? It doesn't make sense even if they are leaving the game industry as is just generating PR disasters.
I will support the game because Kojima has worked so hard on it along with his team...I say to anyone doubtful about buying it don't be. Kojima and his team want us all to enjoy the hard work they have done for us the fans. We know who made it and Kojima knows as well they will be very grateful for it. Just remember that it will be the last bit of money the company will ever see from you after the fact.
I said he's pretty narcissistic, not exactly the same thing as calling someone a straight narcissist.
I have a feeling if, hypothetically, you were to ask Kojima personally about whether you should buy the game or not - he would tell you to buy it.The stupidest thing would be to say 'fuck you konami' but still go ahead and give them money. Kojima and team still got paid, this way Konami don't.
I have a good feeling this will be the reality. Look at the amount of effort Konami has put into to distance themselves from Kojima, as if taking out a few lines of code is beyond their petty ways.
side note: I wish publishers would stop with this day one nonsense. it just adds some boring DLC in most cases and ruins the box art. Put a sticker or something instead.

Every hands on impression of the latest build suggest the references a still there and still plentiful. Can we stop making suppositions just based on the box art?
All of ya'll boycotting Konami are gonna totally break when they release a new Suikoden.
I agree he would still tell you to buy it but the only people profiting from this decision will be Konami. Like I said it's a double edged sword but the most important thing (imo) is to not support a company that engages in this sort of behaviour. Stroking Kojima's ego is neither here nor there.

This, I guess? They are mostly leaving the console game industry
Konami doesn care, at the end, either way. They truly doesn't care if people buy another game after this, they just want to get out as dickish as they can get away. So don't worry, they will not notice you support (or lack of it) as the sounds of pachinko machines are louder to them.
If everyone thought this way, years of hard work and sacrifice would go completely to waste. It's not entirely to do with Kojima's ego. He's not only (seemingly?) innocent person who would be negatively impacted by enough people making the same decision as you.
Konami acting petty would not be a good justification for that.
Okay then let's consider the hypothetical that the game flops because people boycott it (This isn't going to happen, but let's just go with it), what exactly do you expect to come of that? What do you want to happen? People don't get to enjoy the game that Kojima and his team worked so hard to deliver to fans. Sure, Konami gets less profit but who wins in this scenario? So if you spent millions of dollars releasing a product and didn't recoup any of those costs you wouldn't care? Lies! lol They will care if it flops, that much is guranteed.
It only needs to happen this one time. It wouldn't be a waste, judging by past sales of Metal Gear Solid games with Kojima's name on it selling well then vs a game that gets released without his name on it that flops.
Well...
This, I guess?
it's not like the reaction of the MGS hardcore fanbase it's going to make a dent on their pachislot, gambling and mobile endeavors.

So you're not even interested in the game, right. Why does there have to be a winner, isn't denying Konami boatloads of cash enough? The choice is easy for me because I am over these games so I really don't have to do a thing to know that i'm not supporting the slimey bastards over at Konami and that's all that matters to me.
What a total goatfuck.
Uhhh, his and their name will undoubtedly be in the actual game. It doesn't have to be on the case to count.Fucking shameful.
Can't even give the man and his studio credit.
Boxart looks awful anyways. Ill print off some shinkawa art and stick it in there
I posted this in the MGS OT community thread, but I've made a Shinkawa cover for TPP based off the GZ alt cover. Enjoy!

Is anyone else concerned that no news outlets are running this?
Are they that afraid of "bad relations" to run a story?

This is better than the US version of the MGS4 boxart in my opinion.even without the whole labeling fuck up, this is easily the worst MGS box art,
why the hell would you not continue to use Shinkawa art, its so damn cool!
eh, i guess it wont actually matter to me since ill just be getting it on steam.

Someone post the CODMW2 Steam boycott group image.
Miss out on the last Metal Gear Solid game worth a damn? You fucking crazy?
Rendering all the years of hard work and passion done by Kojima and his team as meaningless? No thanks.
Better to show them what a good thing they had with Kojima when it sells gangbusters and the next iteration tanks spectacularly.
No way. That doesn't really help Kojima and his team, honestly. Won't support Konami's future releases of Metal Gear, though, no matter how good it may be. (That's just me, though.)
Correct.
No, we boycott MGS6 when it's released in a few years without Kojima's input.
KojiPro worked hard on 5, no need to refuse to give their work the support it deserves. This will likely be the last time I give Konami money.
No we can fucking not because let's not forget it was Kojima who kept his team together in this hard times. He said he promised to make great quality game for fans. So you better buy this last farwell to his fans after that you can boycott Konami as much as you want but always remember that Kojima Productions finished MGSV: The Phantom Pain under horrible conditions just for you guys. If it wasn't for us Kojima would have left Konami already. Always remember that.
