His name is on the covers of MGS1-4 so it's a bit weird and given the circumstances and rumors of him being 'fired' and Konamis treatments of their IPs, it's not surprising some are annoyed. I mean, you may assume it's egoism, but for all we know Konami may have put his name on the covers to garner attention at the time(like Suda51) and now they're just done with him for whatever reason.

Taking his name of the cover is similar to erasing his name from the credits, in the context of this being a Hideo Kojima game. So this thread is definitely warranted. I just hope that one day we know what actually happened, and what Kojima will do subsequently.

(And if he will be able to use the Fox engine for his next project.)

If anything I'd hazard a guess he might have retained the rights to the Kojima Productions name and with his leaving/ousting from Konami they can't/won't use that trademark in promotional materials for a Konami owned property.

I'm guessing buying the last Kojima Metal Gear and then NOT buying the next Hideo-less Metal Gear will send a clear message. Right or wrong, that's what I'm doing.

Off-topic but has anyone ordered the CE from Target.com? I've had no e-mail about a cancellation but anytime I look at orders I get nothing. Konami already said they're staffing up for a new Metal Gear game. They're going to get their money's worth of the massive investment it was to make Fox Engine. So expect a new Metal Gear in two years.
