Anybody else trying to check on their "Order Status" on Best Buy and it's saying:

"We're Sorry
Order information is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

That function of their site has been down all day. I was trying to check an earlier order this afternoon and got the same error.

Yeesh... Best Buy hijacked the hell out of this thread.

I'll ask again... Any Amazon.ca people in the house? Is anything happening yet? Any deals confirmed?

ordered 1, then my friend said he already moved to a new house... and reorder another one. if they end up honoring the 1st order... welp there goes my $15 haha

There is absolutely no way he has that high of a limit on his credit card. I call bullshit.

Don't wanna be too specific since there are weirdos out there, but I know someone who has about a $40k limit on their card. And that's only two years out of college. If you have good credit and start making money, companies will start offering crazy limit increases.

I think they funny part is people really think this is not going to get cancelled, especially when you have people *potentially* doing this:

This is extremely likely to be fake of course, but this is fucking huge on Slickdeals, not just GAF. It's not going through.

i just love to imagine someone making a life out of best buy gift cards. buys enough old dvds to build a reasonable size fort and enough cashier side gatorades and candies to feed their families.

Holy crap! lol

What the fuck is that guy gonna do with half a million dollars of Best Buy funny money?

lmao the dream is over folks. It is officially trending on twitter, which means they have probably sold millions of cards, and yea Bestbuy doesnt even have that much money to give out. Waiting on my cancel email, not even expecting 5$ coupon or anything anymore.

Could spend the next couple years of his life selling them for 75% value online, easily.

Anyone buying a ton are hurting their odds. They are going to be cancelled. Anyone who thinks there's even a chance they will limit people to just one are absolutely delusional. There will be a few lucky people who slip through, and buying a fuck ton ensures you're not going to be one of those lucky few.

Wow, I didn't know that. Damn.
I'm still iffy of that post for some reason though.

Are you kidding? It's an electronics store, I'm sure he'll find something awesome to spend it on.. :P

Haha hypothetically if that guy with the 57,000 dollar order got them all to go through he could make almost 400K just selling these individually on those gift-card resale sites where you list a 200 dollar card at like 180 and the site takes 5%.

Man. My credit score is 800+ and I have no debt. My credit limit is 5K.

What the Hell.

Bought 2 cards and paid with Paypal.

Looked at my bank account and Paypal charged my card already, I got the email from them as well about the charge, but this it's all pending right now.

Still no email from BB either about it.

It'd be crazy if this goes through, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a cancelled order when I wake up tomorrow lol.

...and then some gaffer decided to make a thread about this at 1:07 AM EST.

Goes along with what I said earlier here. Too late regardless, but I guess it's nice of him to alert people in case the entirety of the internet passed them by at this point.

Playstation 4 Last of Us edition just went down to a whole $444.99 on Amazon.ca.

Edit:

Was at $449.99 moments ago. Save a whole $5! Wooooo!

Edit 2:

BETTER DEALS THAN BLACK FRIDAY.

fucking stupid internet service provider. Wake up at 5.30am, grab a coffee and expect to zombie onto the computer to grab the logitech webcam and have a look at the SSD price. No fucking internet. wtf? It has been completely fine til now.

I managed to scramble to get a hotspot set up on my phone even though my reception is shitty, and log on with my computer at just after 6:10 and luckily the webcams aren't going quickly so I nabbed one (was about to buy one last week for £58, so £29.99 is a great price). All the SSDs gone but the price isn't that great - I'd be happy with the standard EVO and you can get 2x500GB for that price already. So I'll have a look at the 1TB EVO this evening and see if that is worth getting.

What the Hell.

How long have you had your card? He has had this one for years. The company offered an increase online, and he took it. A couple months later they sent him a letter in the mail saying they upped it again. Didn't ask that time or anything. Just did it, and it was something like doubling the limit.

I have another friend whose parents got a card in his name when he was young and it actually worked out well for him. They didn't fuck it up, and he got through college without fucking it up himself. A rare feat on both counts. Last I knew he had somewhere around a $20k limit. And that was years ago, so probably higher by now. I use to joke about taking his card to go buy a fucking car, which seemed insane to me back then as I couldn't even get a store card 'cause I had zero credit.

Any way. If you're making decent money and aren't carrying a large balance every month, with your credit score you should easily be able to ask them to raise your limit if you want.

Looking forward to the inevitable tears and raging when these get cancelled en masse.

There's always those people who feel they are owed something for nothing.

Expecting at the very least 5 customers demanding to speak to a manager tomorrow ordering us to GIVE them the 10 $200 gift cards they bought.
