Can you not report nasty online players to Nintendo?

All I can find is a method through MiiVerse, but this guy apparently doesn't have a profile set up. Google turns up nothing else. Isn't there an email address or web form somewhere? This feels pretty ridiculous.

Since folks will ask what I am reporting:
After beating a For Glory player on Smash a lot, my dog started whining like she had to go out. She is 15, and if I wait she tends to piss the floor. So I let her out mid-match, causing me to lose my first match against this player (ZootedMagician).

When we get back to the CSS, he starts changing his tag to stuff like "SUKMYDICK", "UPUSSY", and "FUKYOU". In the moment, I grab my phone and take pictures of two of them. Obviously, this guy doesn't belong in an online atmosphere with young people. How do I make sure he gets the boot?

Edit: A response to critics:

Has happened to me before as well on Smash, beat someone 8 times in a row then they beat me once, then they started spamming expletives in the name box saying I'm shit and whatnot.

To get their information simply go to your friend list then click users played with on the bottom. You can then get to their Miiverse profile, click the wrench in the top-right and click report.

Well there's always gonna be people like that. I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but why not just leave the room and play with somebody else?

Carrier pigeon support when?

He doesn't have a Miiverse profile. Read the OP man.

Because somewhere, this guy is going to spam "SUKMYDICK" to an 8 year old, and that is not okay. I like to do my part to keep my community nice.

Eh...Those are normal behaviors for young people.
Am I missing something about young people+internet?

Even without the internet, it was still the norm during playground period.

Even if you are concerned for young children, well, it is up the parents to monitor these young kids online activities in the end.

Good for you for wanting to report it. Why not tweet Reggie or someone senior to ask?

Carrier pigeon support when?

Nintendo have carrier pigeon support already, but it's tied to hardware - you can't transfer messages from one pigeon to another yet.

They're apparently setting up a registration system so that you can be assigned multiple pigeons under one username though.

If your childhood had this as the norm, you have my pity.

Wii U.

Good idea. I will do that.

Cool.
I don't need your pity though because I grew up not caring about super bad words that might destroy my ears.
What other concern do you want to hear about the world so I can keep receiving your pity?

Apparently to report someone in Smash, you just "tap their icon on the results screen and press Y to report."

Too late at this point I guess, though.

Clearly you aren't upset about it at all.

He did it after the match, anyway. I wouldn't have been inclined to report him when I had that chance. I tweeted NOA and Trinen. Rather unexpected that Nintendo has no option for this, since Sony and MS do.

With all that Nintendo is dealing with right now, in a time of sadness and mourning within the company, you tweeted this to NOA AND TRINEN?!?!?!

Jesus, jimmies rustled, I'm out for my own sanity.

Not really.
Because parents are responsible for their kids.
It is already dangerous enough that Facebook is encouraging young kids to join in a network with potential pedophiles wanting to be friend. The pressure is coming from the top too with school wanting these kids to create an online profile so they can Like the school and be friend with the staff.

But seriously, how can you police everyone?

You keep that sanity nice and safe, you hear?

I can't speak for every school, but I have never heard of a school doing that. Quite the opposite. Most schools disallow staff from friending their students, or strongly discourage it.

You make it sound like I am a Deathnote character. "Police everyone". Oi.

It's actually surprising that Smash broadcasts your character's name tag to people online. It seems unnecessary.

You can report stuff on Miiverse, but in games I have not seen an option.
Same for Splatoon feeding Miiverse drawings into the game's main hub. Seen some lewd drawings make the cut, but you can't report it from the hub as it doesn't link to the actual Miiverse post. Potentially I could 'yeah' the post, go on Miiverse, check my 'yeah's and then report it.. But I'm not that passionate about reporting stuff either.

Well I don't play Smash online so I can't help with that.

There are pedophiles on facebook?

Since the creation of the internet and with the fast growth of online chat, forum and social media? It is the norm to read news story about pedophiles using social media to create a trusted authority/figure with young kids.
Nothing is more dangerous than knowing your kids have a social media account with zero privacy setting. It scares the hell out of me sometime that I am thinking of buying a network monitoring software and blacklisting twitter/vine/myspace/ect on my home network like on the scale of a corporate level settings.

My middle school drilled me that everyone was a predator if they used Xx_xX, boy/girl or cute/cool/hipster/slang words in their name in order to pretend to be hip with their prey.
And I became paranoid for nearly 2 decades...justifiable though with how Silk Road and other sex rings that the FBI brought in these past years.

That sounds incredibly odd that a school would encourage that. I know none around here would.

are you new to how online gaming works? Just let it go, the fact you made this thread means that this person has gotten to you and therefore beat you.

If you go to your friends list on Wii U, you can bring up a list of people you've played online with recently. From there, you can at least block them from interacting with you. I don't recall if there's a report button, but I can't check right now, because I'm on my way to work.

You can report people on Smash WiiU.
At least on 3DS. On the Winner screen there an option to report (press Y i think it is)

If you need the ability to report people and that requires an optional profile, just ensure the other players have their profile set before you interact with them.

Btw, what happened to friend codes?

Wii U never had those.

OP, let it go. If you care about those morons, they "win". It's probably a kid anyway.

You shouldn't play against other people if you cannot handle some trash talk. And if you cannot handle trash-talk/insults just mute/block them instantly.

Maybe with Nintendo it is a bit different because of the children. Are there any requirements for creating online accounts?

Yeah, it's a convoluted. Only way to report them is after you beat a match. You also can't say what you're reporting them for so I feel like it's probably not very effective.

I dislike this whole attitude that amounts to "man up you pussy". Why should someone playing online have to deal with harassment or trash talk or slurs or vulgarity in a fucking childrens game? Yeah, online interactions aren't rated blah blah. That still doesn't mean you should just roll over and take shit. That stuff needs to be punished in a way to prevent people from being shits. Yeah, they can just make another account but then, they have to make another account. It's busy work they will have to go through as a price for being a shit online.

Like, what about when you beat someone online in a game and then get a PSN or XBL message calling you a faggot cunt nigger? That should be allowed right and we should all just man up because that should be the standard because 4chan and bullshit right? I dunno about you guys but if someone harasses me I like to report them and maybe they will get banned.

And they "win" by keeping their accounts and keeping the ability to harass and spew shit, they lose by getting their accounts banned and having to make a new one (and on PS4/XB buying more Gold).
