If you have an original 3DS Gamestop is running a promo where they'll give you $100 towards the purchase of New 3DS XL. Not too bad considering a used og 3DS generally sells for under that amount.

If you're talking about the battery bank things, yes, they're very useful. I use mine for all sorts of things. There are even pricier ones that can jump start a car battery when it's dead.

Also I didn't realize the A40s were wired so now I'm sad. Looking for a serviceable set of wireless cans that's swiss army knife-esque.

The one plus about the A40 is that you can also just plug them directly into your game controller. The audio isn't nearly as good as it is using the mixamp though.
