Guess you are right. Birdie is in there already. For some reason I always forget him. While he has a really good redesign it's still kinda an unremarkable character to me.
They said they ship out on the 20th.

We're not even sure it even WILL be streamed, but capcom has promised to release details on capcom unity after the event and in the event that nobody streams or persicopes it, I'd imagine several EVO-goers will no doubt be doing live blogs/tweets as the info comes in so I wouldn't worry too much

Since when we count Birdie as a grappler? He's always been a hybrid. Although it may be different in SFV compared to Alpha,which despite his command grabs hit seems like he was more of a rush down with grab compliments.

That's kind of what a grappler is, a rushdown character with a focus on several command grabs. His headbutt rushes are secondary to his main game, at least in V

Exactly. In Alpha 3 I don't recall it being secondary (mostly due to V-ism). Although his chain grab had s strong presence as well.
But I still see it as the same as Karin's command grab.

Black hair on his head and gray eyebrows is a bad color combination, IMO. He would have looked better with a more uniform color.
Also, thats his neck underneath his jaw, right? Not a double chin? Capcom seem to like fatties.

Yeah, but he has more command grabs now so seems like Capcom is pushing him to be more of a grappler - unless I'm mistaken and he had all these 4 grabs in Alpha, haven't played that in forever.
It's a terrible shot. Not even meant to be used for what we're using it for. It was meant to be a quick and dirty tease. We'll have a much better look at him whenever he's revealed properly.

It appears we are getting both, (Laura for Brazil, the mystery guy from the trailer is NZ.) Other two newbies are Rachid from North Africa and Zen from India, per Ken Bogard.
NZ reveal should be coming up at 5 EST.

No, he gave us 3 names and 3 locations, people just tied them together since each name makes sense for a region.
Someone earlier in one of the other threads noted that the spelling Rachid (instead of Rashid) is specific to arabic people in North Africa. Laura is a very common Brazillian name, and Zen ties into Buddhism for India.

The PC version is apparently being pushed in large part to reach out to overseas markets where people would be more likely to have a PC. It's unlikely to be an accident that we have 0 Americans and (probably) 0 white people among the newbies. (Think this info was from Bogard as well.)

Ken Bogard never matched any of the characters to a country. The guy translating him speculated that on his own, and everyone else just attributed it to Bogard.

At any rate, a new character with sharp claws or other bladed weapons would be nice. I was always a Sabretooth fan in the vs games.
