Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

So.... Can I finally play walking dead season 2 on my xbox one using my xbox 360 save file from season 1?

What do you guys think is the possibility Rocksteady allows Asylum and City to be backwards compatible? I'm looking for a reason to stow away my 360 forever.

I suspect it's already being worked on, Arkham Asylum first though

What are the chances of soul calibur 4 being one of them? I used to play that so much

And does anyone think we will get an announcement of the next wave of BC titles before August?

Unless there is licensing problems or a remaster, and the game doesn't fit into the "no" category (Kinect/peripherals and yearly sports titles, i'd wager) then I don't see why they wouldn't be good if SC4 doesn't hit that group.

It just depends if MS can get the publisher on board, given they don't have to do any work i'd be surprised if it didn't happen at some point.

I've seen both Soul Calibur and Soul Calibur 4, but as with most of them, I don't know if these are ready to go or if they are simply being tested.

Oh nice that must mean they are guaranteed if they are being tested otherwise why would they waste time on testing them if they were not sure whether namco bandai would be cool with them being backwards compatible or not, so that is awesome to know, thanks

I don't know why your telltale account can't just sync up your decisions, it would be like a 3kb text file.

I actually went into it thinking that was the case :(

Now I doubt I'll ever play S2 which makes me sad

Namco was one of the publishers that did have a couple games in the backwards compatible title cards shown at E3 so I'd say there is a very good chance of Soul Calibur making its way over.

What do you suppose is the QA process is for BC games on the XB1? I'd imagine they wouldn't do something too involved or expensive for each one. Maybe they'll just crowd source it to preview members?

Im sure they probably set up some sort of testing environment but I suspect they also have people just play through the games too

i hope we get new games this Tuesday :(

Is there anything special about tuesday? I only got my xbox one last week so still learning, is tuesday when microsoft usually updates it store on the xbox or something? Or could they add new titles on whatever day they want like monday or thursday for example?

Monday midnight gmt the store starts updating the deals with gold but they can add new titles whenever they want, there's no specific day like playstation. If there are new titles tonight then it'll probably be more of a coincidence than anything else.

Cool thanks for the information, hopefully not too long now before more titles get added to the BC list

I'm currently playing through Perfect Dark AND Perfect Dark Zero.

I don't remember half of the PDZ levels....yet I remember every piece of the original PD..lol.

Does anyone else think that for this being such a big deal to so many and a potential game changer that MS has been kinda quite about it?

Yea, after the initial reaction from E3 their was a lot of talk and speculation about the "vodoo magic" they must be pulling but other than that, zip, nada from them.

I guess I thought they would have added more games by now. I know it's only been a month since it's reveal but if it's relatively easy and painless what are they waiting for?

it will ramp up in time to start marketing for the holiday. expect spin like 'thanks to the 360 library, the xbox one has THE MOST critically acclaimed titles of any console' or something.

It's in the preview program for a reason, they said it would be live with the 100+ titles this holiday for everyone.

I know I'd love to have everything working now, but odds are they allotted this time to getting things working right for a holiday launch of BC, and rushing out titles now isn't a priority.

Hopefully we get a couple new titles soon though.

I have to imagine the amount of preview program members is still relatively small compared to the overall user base.

Yeah there's no need to talk too much right now when we're only in the testing phase and it doesn't release officially until a few months. If they start promising major support and people start buying consoles right now, they will face some disappointment.

Wonder how does stuff like rock band and guitar hero work. Are the legally able to grant bc even if some music licensing is expired.

Only thing I remember from PDZ was the arrows in Campaign telling you where to go all the time, and the really cool jump jet suits in Mutliplayer.

I know it's not confirmed right now, but Red Dead Redemption is $7.49 for Gold members right now. Better to be prepared with a digital copy!

SC4 does have guest characters from Star Wars in the game (Yoda and the Apprentice from Force Unleashed on Xbox 360, Darth Vader as DLC). Not sure if that would affect anything.

Does geowars feel a tad bit off for anyone else? It's as if there's an ever so slight input lag to the game that makes me feel like I'm always reacting too late.

It's basically in preview.

It will no doubt get a massive push come this fall. What I've found constantly interesting is MS must have numbers on how many people are still on their 360's. I would imagine various conversations were had at the best way to shift those people to X1 while still retaining the value of their old games.

The biggest difference to me this gen is PS360 games still look good on my HDTV.

So is tales of vesperia any good or did it only get attention because it was a 360 exclusive? Might pick it up in the hopes it's a backwards compatible title

Phil's alluded to that being one of the biggest factors that led to them developing BC for XB1.

What do you guys think will happen with the pricing of the 360 games when they hit the store on xbox one? If I remember correctly xbox originals were all the same price on xbox 360.
