All I know is there's no reason for me to even try entering the beta because I'd just be stuck reluctantly playing Cammy.
Congrats for those who like him I guess but I suspect the people he appeals to already have characters in the current beta roster they'd actually be happy to play.
Heck, the fact there's only 2 female characters in the current selection wouldn't be so bad if they didn't highlight that they're both sitting ontop of each other on that playstyle chart (easy to technical, fast to power) while the boys spread out across it.
Meh. Take my rant with a pinch of salt. I'm just bitter because I like where they're taking SFV but all the characters I care about are uncertain and merely 'rumour' at best.
Technically this could be the boss character Ken Bogard mentioned.

We aren't sure. Ken Bogard didn't leaked any name for 4th newcomer. It's possible that the names (Laura, Rashid and Zen) could change during development phase.

I'm well aware. I'm just salty because I got to go to a hands on of SFV and was struck that even though I had the opportunity to actually play it there's nobody i currently want to play in it. I got a bit more annoyed when they started beta sign-ups and all I could think is "no point in me signing up for it"

Before you attempt to apply logic to this, if I don't like the aesthetic of a character then i don't enjoy playing them. It's that simple. Believe me, i've tried, but even if a character has a moveset i love, if I don't like the actual character then it makes me pissed off and I inevitably quit the character or the game.

IDK, obviously everyone's different but the idea of writing off a character entirely because they're not an anime girl seems pretty unreasonable to me.
Please just try him out. I've had it happened were I completely did not like a characters aesthetic design, but ended up loving them in the end because of they played. Don't just completely write someone off just from looks. I'm not saying to main him, but just try him before making your final judgement.

Hugo has like, no answers to fire balls besides outplaying the opponent. But he's like 10 feet tall andre the giant, has cool hair and has a sick summer alt.

Also, 'anime girl'? I'm sorry but you seem to be mistaking me for a 'waifu' person. I just like having some female rep or at least something cute. No requirement for it to be 'anime'.
I appreciate the sentiment but I already pointed out that i've tried multiple times in the past to play characters that don't appeal to me visually but my vanity runs deep I'm afraid. Not happening

Hehe, I have a friend who's the same. He prefers either the huge tough guys or the 'badass' types like Auron or Misturugi. You'd never catch him playing any of the characters I tend to end up playing

It is easier said than done. I also put a lot of value in a character's look and I am willing to play them even if their gameplay isn't exactly my thing if I like the design. Doing the opposite is really hard. For example, I enjoy how Zero Suit Samus (Smash) play but I am never playing that character because of her design, regardless of how fun her play style is.

I'm pretty confident that Alex will be in the initial roster, and I'm sure we'll get Zany eventually.
Now that the character models actually look appealing, it's much more fun to look forward to the beefcake characters. Throw in Abel, Eagle and T. Hawk and I'll be in heaven.

Yup yup! From the matches I had it feels a lot cleaner: I didn't get a lot of the input issues that plague me when I'm trying to play SF4
Kept forgetting to use V-trigger but that's just because it's still 'new', I'm sure with some experience I'd use it whenever it's available :3

Usually the male to female ratio is around 4:1, so I would expect Juri and 1 new female.Same, though that list is super male heavy without the 2 DLC characters. It'll probably go that way though because I always tend to get screwed over character-wise when it comes to these things
