I think a lot of this is due to how badly online functionality is handled and how fractured communities in the US are. It's much less of an issue in Japan due to the population density. Yeah, there are tons of scrubs in Japan, especially in the more popular games. We just never see them. Even in the smaller games, there can be a much wider spread of skill (even if the overall floor or much higher than it would be with a more popular game).
If Capcom can really nail this with SF5, I suspect a lot of that gap is going to close.
Then I'd claim that zero is #1 all around. More tools for me to use!

This is the stupidest thing about reddit. That post is from a year ago and barely anyone ever saw it because Koogy made the post in response to someone who didn't have the full story on the donation drive. Enough people downvoted the misinformed post that the entire thread including Koogy's response was automatically hidden.

well I guess I should be clear, i meant top players and not just randoms. I think Dota 2 and League take the cake for just random online play for worst playerbase.

I guess as a quick side note I'll shed some light on my demeanor. I have this mild medical condition called Glbert's Syndrome. It's pretty much 100% a non-issue and doesn't matter much however the side effects are as follows: feeling tired all the time (fatigue), difficulty maintaining concentration, unusual patterns of anxiety, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, loss of weight, itching (with no rash), and others
Because of the bolded, I'm pretty much always just kinda quiet and I end up looking exhausted constantly. I'm kind of a piece of shit but the lack of energy sometimes doesn't allow it, especially after travelling across the continent compounded with a constant state of fatigue.
I dunno, I'd say a good 95% of the English speaking population use could or can care less instead of couldn't.

I just didn't like seeing him win because I'm not keen on him? I wouldn't see that as venomous tbh. Me and Vulva were bagging on the game during the whole weekend, lol. I like the game but also like, that Top 8 (aside from Frutsy, and I was damn mad when his momentum got thrown off because they had to restart that first match) wasn't my favorite of the day, especially not considering how great all of the others were (only caught GF of MKX though).

TBH I only wanted to get into doa because it was "easy" tekken and the female cast.
Tekken just got to daunting for me. + getting older and all that stuff makes it hard to get into the game. Its why I prefer Soul Cal over tekken.
I really wanted to get into GG as well... but never had the time or I procrastinate to much. Not even sure who I would play since I never took GG serious. I want to learn elphelt but I think sol is more fitting for me.

if I had to go on twitter... its money related. I saw a twitter post about "so about that gas money for driving you to super and evo..." and various other mentions about "begging".
Seems like there are real reasons for why people don't like KBR. I don't know him personally and he looks like a swell guy. But then again so did flash metroid for a little bit...and early PL.
But in the end, you can't really talk shit about KBR performance at EVO. It was on point.
He bummed off of people apparently. Ate their food and whatnot.
I actually don't know, and I don't care much. I just know people I like and trust have problems and I leave it at that. I just want to put it out there that some people can be offput by him being around and it's not without reason, so it's not fair to just tell them they're wrong.

I don't know how bad it was, but I thought it was weird how there was a boom after every hit in SF4. Someone got hit by a Hadouken, BOOM.

Well...yeah. That is pretty widely known. I even introduced him to my wife that way. He goes around, asks to stay at people's places, and chills there while focusing on Marvel. Simple solution seems to be to not let him stay at your place, or work that stuff out ahead of time.
It's hard to take objections seriously when they arent backed by reasoning.
I don't think his character was part of the conversation until a few folks here brought it up. All of the "respect" talk was with regard to his play. If folks have personal beef with him, then air it out within that context.

So Ricky is right in calling him a bum if that's the case. I could see it but then again when you do things you do it out of the goodness of your heart. Like for me If I helped someone up to their feet and years later they become millionaires or something I'm not expecting to get something from them nor would I want anything from them. That's just me though. Obviously everyone is different.

Oh Master and Morris were shady indeed. But PL always had the air of drama queen around him. Scene was definatly disfunctional back then but Master has mellowed out somewhat and the old power structure is dead and that's why DOA is healthy at this moment.
You can still give props to someone even if you don't like them personally or just don't say anything at all
You don't get to be disrespectful and hide behind the "personal reasons" excuse and then not even say what those reasons are. Private stop being private when you put it in the public eye.
