Fighting Games Weekly | July 20-26 | No Gods or Kings, Only Tears

So I just wanna point out something I noticed about the JP Persona players. Those players are way too clean, their play is more or less spotless in high pressure situations. We're not that far behind them, I'd argue we're better in some aspects, but when it comes down to it they are so safe and on point you have to really outplay them in 2/3. Especially when it comes to risk they will take the low risks options more often or be way more confident in dealing with your shit.

My goal now is to get clean like that and to drop my risk level way down :<

I wish I got to go to the anime suite to play some of them. Only played Chou in pools and well... I could not find an answer to 1.1 Ken and Koro.

It's unfortunate that a lot of the US players just choked this tourney (Grover, Jona, etc), but a lot of others went pretty far.
And then we ended up eliminating each other in losers bracket.

A bunch of gofundmes are popping up. Most of them are fake obviously since people are doing it to make fun of Justin, etc. Some of them are really funny.

Is there any chance of p4 getting a sequel or update before next year? I really like it and some of the movement stuff like the kof roll and manual air side switch should be in more arcsys games

There was a lot of choke. Americans are worse at tourney for numerous reasons, especially P4U players since most of us are young and can't travel. I was a part of choke squad and got put into the death bracket.

Um, P4U2 2.0 is due out eventually. I fully believe we'll get it but I have no clue when it will be.

Thanks man, I was beyond nervous for this match and I did a lot of studying beforehand. Then I got on stage and forgot a lot of what I had planned for. It's so nerve wracking to be up on stage in front of tens of thousands of people on the main stage against such a strong player. I honestly feel like a couple different decisions and I could have maybe won, but I still am pretty proud of my play on stage despite the nerves.

What a fun evo and I hope I can do better next year in 5.

Ya man you were on point. Seth even bigged you up

I never picked up Persona 2 cause I felt like there'd be so much I'd have to learn again on top of learning more.

If P4 ever gets another update, I might actually try to invest time into the game again. 1.1 just came at a really bad time for me so I basically never played.
While 2.0 patch would be nice, I'm actually hoping for something like a 2.1 for both arcade and consoles to get me really excited.

Fingers crossed for a PS4 version.

I kinda meant beyond 2.0 but I guess that's kinda a long shot.

Still would like to see the game with some more thought put into the shadow system cuz s. Chie or mitsuru seems hella dumb

Wait, Gamerbee is 38? Damn. He looks way younger.

Asians bruh.

I thought it was funny that the "lesson to be learned" in that DP Patrick video was to "get a life".

Am I the only one who automatically translates "get a life" to "I'm a moron"? I've never seen this phrase used in a way that didn't make the speaker look like an idiot.

It certainly doesn't have the same ring to it as "fall back nerd"

So, uh... I don't know how to phrase this, exactly, because it's a question borne of total ignorance on my part.

If there were some sort of crowdfunding thing to raise money for the prize pot at Evo, what would the impact be to the tournament, do you think? Would we see dramatically higher prize amounts, would there be more interest in specific games than there is now? I'm imagining a scenario in which the Smash community raises $200,000 and Daigo mains Jigglypuff for a year.

Daigo isn't going to pick up Smash for $200,000.

MAYBE if it's $20 million.

I think he was trying to be sarcastic, since he then hinted that his "life" during that same time was spent masturbating.

I really hated that video :/

Reminds me of that one vid with a guy making fun of the Bionic Arm moment.
