Halo MCC Playlist Popularity, Ordered by Population

Thanks! I'll skip the preorder this time then, just in case we have another mess on our hands like MCC.

By the way, why can't I find Halo 5 when searching for it in Amazon? I can search Google for it and find the link, but inside Amazon itself, there is no way to find the game...

I don't know. Just tried to and it doesn't appear. It does appear as a recommended title when you check Black Ops 3 though.
That's odd. Won't show up for me either when searching.

Sprint doesn't belong in Halo period.
Agreed to disagree there. Sprint is fantastic in Halo, and that's part of what makes halo 4 MP so much fun.

Sprint just feels like it goes against the spirit of those old halo games.

But then again, as soon as i loaded the MCC i set the controls for all of the games to be identical to COD

So perhaps im part of the problem

I changed my universal Halo controls to match Destiny's controls. I tried to play with the default and just couldn't do it.

Gross.. I use universal reclaimer I think or recon I can't remember inverted of course as well. Anything else is herasey and they should be burned at the thumbs.

haha! I just like the melee button on my right thumbstick. The zoom is the most problematic part i have to get used to.

I guess i could try other ones. I've been using GreenThumb since halo 2. Mainly because we had games just where everyone melee'd and didn't shoot. LOL
So fun and hilarious when a group of 8 people are in a circle trying to get that double hit before others. lol

Yeah, it can definitely be annoying. Know what might be cool though? A rotation of power weapons. For example, say Rockets spawn at the start of the match, maybe instead of Rockets spawning again there would be a Railgun that spawns next. Then Rockets again or another weapon, and obviously have it known which weapons spawn next.

Could be interesting.

They tried this in halo 4 iirc but pros and "hardcore" players complained. I thought it was interesting but w/e I didn't lose any matches over the decision.

Lol I've used it once for this mortal combat map and game type I made. I think ur has the right bumper melee too and left stick zoom as well.

I will never stop being amazed at the disparity in opinions of Halo fans regarding which games are good and which ones are shit. I love all four of them for different reasons, but that's just me I guess.

One thing I will say though, the Rumble Pit they have currently in MCC deserves to be bottom of the barrel. Way too much Slayer, No Regicide or Juggernaut, No Halo 1 gametypes. It's nuts that they have all these tools available and they pump out such a stale experience.

Exactly what i thought would happen. Give people the option to play them all and they will end up playing the last one that came out. No surprise here.

As a person who got all the original Halo 4 achievements and defended parts of the game, no. Halo 4 does not deserve to be the top multiplayer. But it is. So now I'm the minority here.

I wonder if it has to do with max party size.
BTB and Halo 4 are the only playlists supporting more than 4 players.

I know that's why my group most often ends up in BTB.

I assume the people who liked Halo 4 and 343 tolerated the MCC's bugs, while the people who liked the first 3 Halos but didn't like Halo 4 and thus had a bad opinion of 343 already weren't as tolerant of the MCC's bugs and dropped the game earlier.

What about the people who liked 1-3 and 4 after the patches? I fall into that category and I'm sure many others do too. Like another poster said, I like them all for different reasons. I particularly like swat in 4.

H2A is probably the best playing playlist, but it needs more remade maps. I enjoy BTB a lot, glad to see it up there.

Halo 4 being that high is more a testament to it being the most recent game. Every time I play Halo 4 I remember how much better Halo 5 feels. Also how much better Halo 2 and 3 were.

It's entirely anecdotal but when I buy video game bundles, I put the most time into the newest game. I assume he did the same.

Also, anecdotal... but I tend to just play them in chronological order to avoid newer games pre-emptively invalidating the older ones.

For something like MCC though, I'd just play whatever game came up in a playlist, and would only actively select a playlist for a single game once I have a preference for one.

EDIT: I'd also register H2A as being the newest game... :P

If the spirit of the old Halo games is for it to take ages to get back to the combat, then I'm all for changing it.

Don't read too much into it. It got measured based on 4 days and without any numbers they are pretty much useless. Playlists could be 2-3 people apart from each other or even 1000.

That's funny. Maps got larger, because they had to design maps arround Sprint. If we didn't have Sprint, the maps would be smaller again.

Sprint bringing you faster to combat is an illusion. You could also increase the movement speed and get at the same time to the combat. And here comes the best part about increased movement speed: You can actually shoot and "run" at the same time. Mind blown!

Hope so! also your right about sprint and vault. they now make the maps for them, we didn't need them before!

I knew someone would point this out, but there are plenty of occasions in both SP and MP, pre-sprint, where it takes longer than necessary to get back to the fight. I just completed ODST again, and I literally groaned on Mombassa Streets when it showed me a marker greater than 300m to the next target because I knew how long it was going to take me.

Read my edit. :P

Only thing I currently play in TMCC is Big Team Battle.

Lack of TrueSkill matchmaking on competitive playlists completely puts me off of playing those.

I still disagree. If combat if centred on one focal point on the map (as it often is in BTB) then increasing speed will of course get you there faster.

Do you also say "he'll not get there any sooner" when being overtaken on the road? XD

I'm not sure I follow? You just said you want to get faster from one point to an other and increasing movement speed does this.

Sprint is increasing speed. It's better than increasing all movement speed because then the core Halo gameplay stays largely the same. Adding sprint lets you get across distance quicker on demand, rather than all the time.

h4/h2a are the only games in the package where the gunplay doesn't feel off in some way. i really enjoyed h3 but the br feels extremely wonky in mcc.

That's a terrible argument.

Here's why below:

That's funny. Maps got larger, because they had to design maps arround Sprint. If we didn't have Sprint, the maps would be smaller again.

Halo maps just keep getting bigger and bigger, thx to 343i. Sprint is not needed for Halo's gameplay but here's the thing. It sorta is now. Maps are way oversized. The small maps in the beta still felt like you needed to sprint. But I guess if you're building a modern fps, its got to have sprint. Its the "in" thing to do.
