Fighting Games Weekly | July 27 - Aug 2 | Beta luck next time

you know what, you are right and i apologize. i should have asked if you have a problem like autism that makes you socially stupid or awkward. do you?

I have a wife, two kids, a mortgage and balding. Half my conversations are with people that still use sippy cups or was just previously wiping their poop. The other half are parents where we talk about their children's poop but in a serious discussion. So yes.

You go straight for top tiers a lot of the time?

Yup. When I started playing AE2012, I went the "logical" route and tried finding a character that had as close to 5-5 matchups as possible so I'd deserve both my wins and my losses. Turns out, that's some bullshit philosophy, not me. Since I was a little kid I always wanted to have better stuff than the others, and overpowered game pieces are no exception.

It's nothing glamorous or noble, but picking the broken stuff is me, for better or worse. I also happen to love mobility and tools, and top tiers tend to have a shitton of top tier tools.

Besides which if I pick them I can't blame my losses on my characters and get to be free of the counterpick circus of some games - if I lose with a god tier character it's on me, period. That's tremendously helpful for maintaining a good attitude.

I fed my daughter a bunch of peas the other day, and there were several of them pretty much still fully formed in her poop later. I guess her digestive system isn't quite advanced enough yet.

My son now eats what we eat but in chopped up form. Its real. Its really real..... Trying to get him to potty train is tough. The boy talks to me about different types of dinosaurs while I wipe his bottom but can't figure out the potty.

Nice, that's the complete opposite of me heh.

Nice concern troll there buddy.

In any case, Tragic is streaming some Rising Thunder :

The bots being played right now look like Evangelion units.

Thank you for being so understanding at least.

I see people with the same issues all the time at locals. Don't worry about making people upset by asking to play. I don't know of a singe scene that wants less people to get games with.

Just ask in-between their games if you can hop on next. It can be intimidating, especially when people look like they are deep into some shit, but I don't know of a anyone (at least here) that would be enough of an asshole to push a new potential training partner away.

It reminds me of Astro-Boy Tezuka style robots.

Also the grappler is just straight up Gigantor

Most of the times I don't go to locals because the NYC Scene is terribly cliquish and it's not as good as it think in the grand scheme. :P

Toronto, but the few times that I tried playing offline it just didn't go well.

You're from Toronto too? GTA or downtown?

Yeah, Toronto's one of the best scenes in NA- for a wide variety of games, not just SF.

Always been a good KOF scene there as well.

In my experience, it's 90% SF. Then again I dont live downtown, so going to A&C weeklies is pretty much out of the question for me. A&C is the local where you find the variety.

Yo. Chill.

I'm digging what I'm seeing from Rising Thunder so far, based on watching Trag's stream. The robot designs remind of classic Japanese sentai robots, like something I would see in Power Rangers. The character Edge looks like a Megazord.

It doesn't look like I got sent an invite on this current wave that was sent out. Oh well, I will await the next wave~!

Looks cool.
Didn't get an invite either.

Toronto VF scene is strong enough that the game hit CECC2, Toryuken 4 and Canada Cup
it was at none of those events last year

GTA, Thornhill. A&C is still kinda far away and driving/parking downtown I imagine is still a huge hassle.

Best place to go then would be to TOSF HQ locals in Scarborough or Heroes World in Markham. If I were to rank the scenes based on competition and game variety it would go:

A&C>TOSF>Heroes World

Try making it out to TOSF HQ on Fridays if you can. The drive shouldnt be too bad. It takes me about 15 minutes from Markham. The variety is pretty good as theres always a good number of people and setups. If you're not sure if a game will be there just bring it with you and start playing on a setup, eventually someone will wanna play. I'll probably be there this week.

Heroes World is good if youre too far away to go to A&C on Wednesdays and are mainly looking to play SF4

i was being genuine idk why all the shock posts...im asking if lostandconfused has a problem...
Bro, read your post over again with a sarcastic tone. How is dude supposed to take it after your previous posts saying you're disgusted with him? Only natural people are going to take it as you weirdly shitting on him.
Social Butterfly? WTF?
Whoa, this is a face I haven't seen in a while. Been so long I thought you got perm'd or something!

What games do you play? It is pretty cliquish here but I don't think anyone will be an asshole if you ask them to play.

When I am in my other houses in FL and Cali I try those places. Central Florida and Nor Cal probably have better players than NY anyhow.

Is Dauntless supposed to be the main character?
Rare to see a boxer as one and a female one to boot.
Sounds like a young kid rather than a female.

The female robot (Chel) is the Ryu archetype of the game.

Dauntless feels like a shout out to Real Steel:

People who tried to connect, and couldn't get in will also receive the incentive that Capcom is offering to beta users.

To clarify, he says that connecting or failing to connect to the beta aren't what qualify you for the beta. I imagine you just get something for registering for the betas. At least I hope so as I didn't actually get home to download the beta until Sunday night.

Oh man he got banned? I really hope it wasn't for long. FGW is full of colorful personalities to say the least, can't really take anything too seriously and be offended by it.
