While I've enjoyed many games on the Wii U, and as always I'll pick up Nintendos next hardware release whether it's a handheld, console, or streaming device (unlikely).
I honestly think the console will flop. Like even worse than the Wii U. I grew up on Nintendo, so have a "soft spot" for them for some reason, but they seem to be losing their way.
Let's face it they got lucky with the Wii, and they seem to be obsessed with trying to find another gimmick to capture non-gamers who lets be honest don't give a shit about buying another Nintendo console.
To be honest I don't think Nintendo can do anything for their next hardware to be a hit, if they go traditional I,e console and normal controller they'll flop, go with a gimmick they'll flop.
The reality is their next hardware will be based around a gimmick that loses its novelty, and there'll be an even stronger emphasis on buying plastic toys to unlock content.
The long term future for Nintendo will likely be to go back to being a toy company....I can't see them making many more consoles after their next release.
