BOOT warrior (Cody)Sooo what styles are we still missing?
- Heavy grappler (Zangief)
- Range zoner (Remy, Guile, Gouken, Dhalsim)
- Ninja (Claw, Ibuki)
- Ground pressure (Dudley, Feilong)
- Buffer/edge (Juri)
- Weird-ass hit properties (Blanka, Elena)
- Stances (Gen)
Naw cody is Litteral actual street fighter. Cody is more street fighter than most of the cast of street fighter.BOOT warrior (Cody)
Pants are cool things that keep your legs warmThat's a leotard though.
Cammy looks stupid to me, could definitely have used a major makeover.
Fill me in on some story from 3rd strike if you don't mind?I suppose that's true. Although I'm pretty sure Akuma finds Bison to be pretty pathetic as he relies on a source of power that Akuma finds to be artificial. This would hold even more true for Juri, as the source of her power is the Feng Shui Engine, so she would probably get wrecked.
No idea about Akuma in 3S. I'd like to think Ryu's training with Oro actually made him more powerful without the Satsui no Hado, but I don't really know.

What's the root of Bison's Psycho power? You said it's an artificial source?
Also, who's Oro and why would he train Ryu? Did Ryu master the Dark Hadou by 3rd strike and go completely down his master's path?
Yah Cammy is kind of dumb. When you have western developers going more conservative with female designs, Japan has double downed on their designs. Just look at Lucky Chloe.. Anyway I hope this isn't the trend with all the female characters in SF5. That is to say I'm not entirely against fan service, but with new Cammy it's so blatant (that weird twist when she activates V-trigger lol). Not even just the pants. I think Cammys idle stance/fight animation just looks stupid.
Dudleys 3s idle animation is GOAT
Edit:
Bulge and all
That means nothing to the EMPERORWe already have Cammy.
I feel comfortable with my theory that she wants to kill everybody; especially powerful people.
She doesn't have the balls to go after Akuma though.
I am pretty out of my depth here but I'll give it a shot.Fill me in on some story from 3rd strike if you don't mind?

Gouki/Akuma would wreck her shit.
By the way where can I catch up on SF lore? Canonically what was the ending for IV?

As far as I know it's not explicitly stated in the games where Psycho Power comes from. Although I believe in the Alpha games his power was being enhanced by a machine called the Psycho Drive. There is a comic (not necessarily canon, but could be) that essentially establishes Psycho Power as a branch of Soul Power (used by Rose), which forces one to completely eliminate the "good" elements of one's soul in exchange for strength. This is somewhat supported by the fact that Rose supposedly possesses the elements from Bison's soul that he discarded. This is totally speculation on my part, but it could stand to reason that Soul and Psycho Power are things that have to be "acquired", whereas Akuma's power, the Satsui no Hado, is something that is latent within him (along with Ryu and possibly Sakura). Whatever the reason, Akuma doesn't respect Bison's power at all and pretty much destroys him. If Bison couldn't move his consciousness into a new body, he wouldn't even be alive for SF4.
As for Oro, he sees Ryu as a potential successor to his art. I am now speculating based on something I read in the wiki like 5 minutes ago, but it seems like Oro feels the path to martial arts mastery is through peace and not through murderous intent. This is something Ryu pursues relentlessly to understand, in part because it's what his master Gouken taught him, and also because Ryu is often tempted to succumb to the Satsui no Hado.

I seriously doubt SFxT is a good source to look at for returning character hints but it amused me all the same
It's been verified by several people, including someone who checked the texture files and there's a bunch more screenies of it from different players who went hunting for it. It's off-stage so you have to do stuff like ultras that swing the camera if you want to see it without modding tools (it's just to the left of Ken's foot here)Are we sure that that isn't fanmade? Haggar looks almost identical to his MvC3 art, minus the buckle on his belt-sash-thing:
Also the Mika picture is made from the figure you can buy and as you mentioned the Haggar is just the MvC3 art. I'm guessing they were lazy because it's just a background easter egg most players would never even see
I feel the opposite way. I am glad there are still companies willing to risk making beautiful female characters.Yah Cammy is kind of dumb. Not sure on the Alex one, but i'm not too familiar with Alex's artwork ^.^;Wow that is kinda next-level lazy even considering it's not something that's easy to see. They made new art for the Alex billboard, didn't they?

We already knew about Haggar and Guy, but this is the first time we've seen Maki and Cody.
That's an interesting finding, but that is from a 4 year old game and I doubt they were planning SF5 back then. The pic from SF5 with Maki, Guy, Cody, and Haggar is old news too,but I don't think it means too much. Maybe that one of this will be in SF5?Not sure on the Alex one, but i'm not too familiar with Alex's artwork ^.^;

I was checking out Maki in SvC2 and instead of run slides/kicks, she does run grabs... Was she the template for El Feurte?Maki plssss

The thing that bugs me the most about this topic is that the side often so against it always say they want equality...which is great and amazing but their equality often doesn't come from adding something new but rather changing the existing (in this example Cammy) which in the end pisses off and alienates the fans who liked her current design (potentially)

I doubt they planned El Fuerte 7 years before SF4![]()
I think he means when creating el fuerte they looked at her as a basis for his play style.

Akuma doesn't strike me as the kind of character one "goes after", though. If you're powerful enough or interesting enough, he will find you. Which basically means either be really powerful, like Bison, or mess with Ryu.
I kind of want to know why Akuma stopped following Ryu by 3rd Strike, though. Did he get his awesome fight, or something? They're both alive, so I guess Ryu won, but what gives?

This
If you all get that pissed off by cammy wearing pants, odds are you never liked cammy in the first place.

People got pissed that Ken put his hair up and let the top of his gi hang...
The hardcore base is pretty hardcore over small things
They could've been in very early planning stages. This guy does some backtracking based on the kid robot figures and estimates mid 2012 as the point in time where the final roster was set. That's an interesting finding, but that is from a 4 year old game and I doubt they were planning SF5 back then. It's a kind of risk. You might get called a 13-year-old boy despite being an accomplished adult artist, for example. If you think that's a risk you are nuts
Sure, but in general, showing skin is more appealing to the eyes than not showing skin. Unless the character is design to appeal to men that get off on shy girls or classy women. Then more clothing is just accentuating a different kind of sexual appeal. You can make a beautiful female character without having T&A pandering plastered all over the place.
From what I understand, by 3rd strike, ryu had gotten past all the dark hado stuff. Its why he wasn't the " main " guy anymore. I guess with his Darkside suppressed, he held no interest in akuma and Bison.
They'll live.
Again, not agaist character design critique, but this is a lot less severe than say nudante. Ken got a bun and put on a different shirt and in the hypothetical cammy put on pants, they would be fine.

Is there a way this could not be true? ;-)It is most likely either before Street Fighter III or after Street Fighter III.
I never said otherwise.that isn't going to effect their sales. Which is the bottom line

I wish we could get Cody in his Final Fight attire and no handcuffs.
Bingo.Make a hot sexy character- just don't treat the camera like it's a 12yo boy directing Game of Thrones. That's what makes it awkward instead of something you can gloss over.
Cammy's design is nearly identical to her past designs. So how exactly are they doubling down? Her design is the same just like basically every other design unveiled in SFV so far. Ken has the biggest change in terms of design, and that's just him putting his top down and wearing a compression shirt.
