So the cast should not have taken time out of their day to visit some sick children because a few forum posters online were going to question their motives for no real reason? I'm sure it really brightened the kids' day and like someone said earlier, that's what's important.

They can do whatever they want. Motives and intentions are questioned all the time especially when money is potentially involved, this is nothing new.

Try calling a local hospital about setting up an event and see if you get away with no questions asked about your motives before they allow you on site.

I'm actually surprised some posters here have a problem a little cynicism. This isn't a perfect world after all.

Just because some people are a little cynical, it doesn't make them sick child-eating demons that you get to slay on an internet forum.

What money is involved? The cast just went to a hospital to hang out with some sick kids. Do you think they charged the hospital? Do you think they charged the kids?

There's no real reason to be cynical though. You're just going through mental gymnastics to find a reason. Have any of these four women done anything to warrant such cynicism?

You win at understanding another point of view. Peace out.

There heart was in the right place.... I think the children would of appreciated this more after the movie came out but then again it would probably be harder for them all to meet after they finish filming.

Pretty much this. How many of these sick kids have even seen the first Ghostbusters movie, much less care that a second one is coming out.

Third and I'm sure the kids were very excited that a bunch of celebrities visited them in the hospital. It was simply a nice gesture people.

Thinking that the kids were excited simply because they were "celebrities" is presumptuous. This is a shameless marketing ploy. If it was after the movie came out, it'd mean something.

A marketing ploy... for a film that doesn't come out for a year. Well those handful of articles that have been written about this is definitely going to ensure the film's success. There was nothing to suggest this was a PR movie other than any conspiracy theory bullshit you've fabricated in your own mind. Utterly embarrassing that these celebs can't do something nice for a bunch of kids without people like you getting up in arms about it.

Welcome to a Ghostbusters 2016 thread. Everything they do is satanic to some

It's not a conspiracy, if they actually cared about the sick kids first and foremost they would just go as themselves and not bring photographers as someone mentioned. What is utterly embarrassing is exploiting sick children as a marketing tool.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
Most of these kids probably have much greater imaginations than any of us. Who's to say that they wouldn't get a kick out of anyone, celebrity or not, dressed up in any kind of costume coming to visit? Even if they don't know who the Ghostbusters are, it's probably an upgrade over some generic clown or whatever they usually get. Plus, it's probably neat for the parents/guardians, who might need some cheering up or a distraction or whatever, you know?

If I was a kid there, I'd be like "Who the fuck are these people?" Most of those kids have probably never even seen The Ghostbusters and for those that have they still wouldn't know wtf was going on. Should wait until the movie's out at least.

Nice gesture. When the movie comes out, these kids will be able to brag about meeting the New Ghostbusters to their classmates.

That said, I hope that we aren't going to have rampant fuckery in every Ghostbuters thread that comes up. I hope the movie is good, and makes tons of of money, just so that people will stop.

I...huh?

Why do people make this shit up? It's so simple. These actors were in their costumes. Probably decided after a shoot to go to a hospital and greet patients. Some of the hospital staff recognised them and took pics. Posted them on the hospital's Facebook. No photographers brought. No official PR.

Can't accept them doing this before the movie is out. They're just comedians cosplaying until then. Second, those uniforms are fucking awful.

Well by this logic any actor from marvel movies can never show up to cheer up some sick kids

They can absolutely show up out of costume, as long as there's a chance these kids would actually have a connection to them/their character from seeing the film or at least some footage. Here there's 0 chance of that. It's still sweet for them to show up but really damn strange.

Oh man, I keep forgetting there's a new movie with a female cast.

I could totally imagine myself asking to see the Ghostbusters cast and thinking I'm gonna see Bill Murray and the gang, then Wiig walks in :(
