I didn't say earlier, but I'm glad to see those 4 Non Blondes, Rush, Rick Derringer, and Scorpions picks.
That Duck & Cover is probably a Harmonix band. In fact, it sounds a bit like The Acro-Brats.
I know, it's awesome![]()

Disappointing reveal outside the Rush song, rest are all forgettable, starting to get a RB3 vibe from the setlist (a handful worth playing, the rest isn't great)
Yea. Their Bandcamp says they're connected to them and Bang Camaro. Eddie Japan is also Bostonian.
If some of these are in house HMX bands, then that is indeed awesome. Some of my favorite tracks in previous games have been from them so I'm happy to see them return after their omission in RB3.
EDIT: No One Like You sounds like a rerecord.
pretty much, I re bought a 360 yesterday with Warriors of Rock and RB3......threw in RB3 and just remember at how many songs that I actually cared for on the disc.....was probably only 25%. But dear gosh, warriors of rock had an unrealistic overall on disc soundtrack....blew my mind how many good hits were on there. RB2 on disc soundtrack was probably my overall favorite on disc soundtracks, even the Harmonix band songs were fantastic.
4 Non Blondes Whats Up?
Would appear so, just listened to the verse side by side with the original and it sounds like a recent re-record. Thank god they picked this song instead of "Rock You Like A Hurricane". Now all I need is "Blackout" to complete my Scorpions wishlist.
Oh dear, get ready for final tier drums, guitar and bass guys! Black metal song included in the setlist.
Soul Remnants - Dead Black Heart Of ICE
4:25 is brutal as fuck.
Lightning Bolt is a Harmonix band as well IIRC.
I don't like/know a single new song announced for RB4 aside from Failure by Breaking Benjamin. At this rate, I might not buy RB4. The setlist this time around is just so meh to me personally.
I wonder if this is an effort to cut costs some, to throw in some unknown bands and save on licensing fees.
Quite happy with a few of the songs, but I was hoping for more modern-day stuff and some heavier genres - there's still more to come though so I'll keep my fingers crossed!
I don't believe so... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Bolt_(band)
I'm shocked to see them on this list, my freshman roommate in college (he was in a hardcore band) introduced me to them and I still have one of their tracks. 13 Monsters, on my iPhone. They're a duo and from a video I saw, the singer played with a microphone strapped to his face. They're loud and thrash-metal-y as fuck, but they always seem to be having fun. I look forward to playing one of their songs in Rock Band. Here's hoping we get 13 Monsters as DLC.

Part of what I love about GH1&2/Rock Band is Harmonix' setlists introducing me to new music. I'm glad I don't recognize most of these tracks, even if I recognize the band. It makes me excited!
I will probably never pick that song if ever given the choice......I'm not a fan of pure trash scream fests. The entire song is just drum blasts.........
Harmonix has always been one to put in local bands into their games (in the GH days, they were often the "bonus" songs), so it's nothing new... though I'm sure it does help with those costs.
welp
There are quite a few melodic breaks in the song. Still, I think this is the first time a song with blast beats has been on disc.
Oh, I know. That's how I grew to love The Acro-Brats between "Laughtrack" and "Day Late, Dollar Short." But I think the last time a Harmonix band was found on-disc was RB1.
That Slydigs song isn't even on YouTube.

I'd actually say that there's been a lot of songs announced that are off pretty recent albums (like, within the past two years.) More is always better though.
Listened to all the stuff I haven't heard yet. Now I actually have some negative opinions on the setlist so far! That Fallout Boy song is like nails on a chalkboard. Will definetly be only playing that song once on each instrument.

Halestorm song sounds like a Paramore song. Pretty forgettable song and band. This and that FoB song'll both languish in my least played list.
Heart, System Of A Down, 4 Non-Blondes, Rush, Rick Derringer, Disturbed, Scorpions, and White Denim though? Mwah! Fantastic picks for the main setlist!

WHOAH! WHOAH!, Watch I Miss The Misery live and that will change your tune on it being a paramore sounding song.....they are no where near the same genre!
Heard the song live at Download 2012 when passing the stage one time, and I've just listened to a few other live performances, sounds...pretty unremarkable to me. Heavier but still similar, and forgettable.
They took er serngs!
It better bloody well be "Brianstorm".
Figured more Arctic Monkeys was on the way when "R U Mine" released as DLC a few months back.
Moar like "They took er Online play" or "They took er Keys" amirite?
