Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Just a few of the songs I'm looking forward to playing from this batch. Overall a meh. And a double meh to the rerecord of No one like you.

Disappointing reveal outside the Rush song, rest are all forgettable, starting to get a RB3 vibe from the setlist (a handful worth playing, the rest isn't great)

pretty much, I re bought a 360 yesterday with Warriors of Rock and RB3......threw in RB3 and just remember at how many songs that I actually cared for on the disc.....was probably only 25%. But dear gosh, warriors of rock had an unrealistic overall on disc soundtrack....blew my mind how many good hits were on there. RB2 on disc soundtrack was probably my overall favorite on disc soundtracks, even the Harmonix band songs were fantastic.

I don't like/know a single new song announced for RB4 aside from Failure by Breaking Benjamin. At this rate, I might not buy RB4. The setlist this time around is just so meh to me personally.

I feel keys kinda fucked RB3s setlist by limiting them alot, WoR was the "last" game so they went all out, I really liked how they got some harder songs in there too

Quite happy with a few of the songs, but I was hoping for more modern-day stuff and some heavier genres - there's still more to come though so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Lightning Bolt is a Harmonix band as well IIRC.

I don't believe so... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Bolt_(band)

I'm shocked to see them on this list, my freshman roommate in college (he was in a hardcore band) introduced me to them and I still have one of their tracks, 13 Monsters, on my iPhone. They're a duo and from a video I saw, the singer played with a microphone strapped to his face. They're loud and thrash-metal-y as fuck, but they always seem to be having fun. I look forward to playing one of their songs in Rock Band. Here's hoping we get 13 Monsters as DLC.

Part of what I love about GH1&2/Rock Band is Harmonix' setlists introducing me to new music. I'm glad I don't recognize most of these tracks, even if I recognize the band. It makes me excited!

I don't know, for me at least, the songs I've never heard of before typically turn out to be my favorites in the Rock Band series. Worth a listen at the very least.

I wonder if this is an effort to cut costs some, to throw in some unknown bands and save on licensing fees.

Harmonix has always been one to put in local bands into their games (in the GH days, they were often the "bonus" songs), so it's nothing new... though I'm sure it does help with those costs.

I'd actually say that there's been a lot of songs announced that are off pretty recent albums (like, within the past two years.) More is always better though.

Taking my time to listen to all the songs announced before giving my impression of this batch of songs. I am pretty thrilled to have "What's Up?" though.

The bassist is Harmonix's lead artist.

I will probably never pick that song if ever given the choice......I'm not a fan of pure trash scream fests. The entire song is just drum blasts.........

welp

There are quite a few melodic breaks in the song. Still, I think this is the first time a song with blast beats has been on disc.

Oh, I know. That's how I grew to love The Acro-Brats between "Laughtrack" and "Day Late, Dollar Short." But I think the last time a Harmonix band was found on-disc was RB1.

"What's Up?" by 4 Non Blondes - Joke song, but it'll be fun at parties
"Fever" by The Black Keys - Heyyy The Black Keys. They're cool.
"Prayer" by Disturbed - Disturbed is okay, not really looking forward to it.
"Knock Em Down" by Duck & Cover - Never heard of the band or the song.
"Albert" by Eddie Japan - Never heard of the band or the song
"Centuries" by Fall Out Boy - AWESOME AWESOME PICK
"I Miss The Misery" by Halestorm - Do we not have Love Bites?? Nooooo
"Kick It Out" by Heart - Heart is a good band, so I'll be looking forward to it
"I Am Electric" by Heaven's Basement - I think I heard of this song before. I think.
"Dream Genie" by Lightning Bolt - Never heard of the band or the song.
"Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" by Rick Derringer - I remember this song. I hate the name of it
"A Passage to Bangkok" by Rush - Awwwww yesssss
"No One Likes You" by Scorpions - We still don't have Rock You Like A Hurricane :C
"Light the Fuse" by Slydigs - Never heard of the band or the song.
"Dead Black (Heart of Ice)" by Soul Remnants - That band sounds... familiar
"Spiders" by System of a Down - Never heard the song, but I like SOAD
"At Night In Dreams" by White Denim - Never heard of the band or the song.

Overall, I'm not crazy about the batch, but that's because I don't know a lot of the songs. I entered Rock Band 3 only knowing 3 songs (Misery Business, Bo Rhap, and Crazy Train) and now it's my favorite music game setlist. I don't listen to the songs I don't know leading up to the game, so I can look forward to listening to them for the first time when playing Rock Band 4.

Also where's toymachine?

There were a bunch in Rock Band 2, even some of the main menu tracks in that game were Harmonix bands (NIght Lies, Get Clean, Shoulder to the Plow, Welcome to the Neighborhood).

I think the Mighty Mighty Bosstones are considered a Harmonix band as well, the band's manager works for Harmonix.

That Slydigs song isn't even on YouTube.

Anyone manage to find this song?

Rock Band 2 had the nine bonus songs from Harmonix bands, but they were integrated within the main setlist (not set aside like in previous games), so it was easy to just think they were from other bands. Examples include: "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter", "Rob the Prez-o-dent", etc.

From what I can tell though, they didn't have them for Rock Band 3. I'm glad to see the return here as I really enjoy the Harmonix band songs.

Listened to all the stuff I haven't heard yet. Now I actually have some negative opinions on the setlist so far! That Fallout Boy song is like nails on a chalkboard. Will definetly be only playing that song once on each instrument.

Halestorm song sounds like a Paramore song. Pretty forgettable song and band. This and that FoB song'll both languish in my least played list.

Heart, System Of A Down, 4 Non-Blondes, Rush, Rick Derringer, Disturbed, Scorpions, and White Denim though? Mwah! Fantastic picks for the main setlist!

I agree that there's been a few, but with new albums from bands that have previously been on RB I can't help but think there could be a few more! There's also some great bands that haven't been in RB before that deserve a place.

I love how the only Fall Out Boy song I like (My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark) is only in Guitar Hero Live.

Actually, that song from Big Hero 6 was okay, too.

WHOAH! WHOAH!, Watch I Miss The Misery live and that will change your tune on it being a paramore sounding song.....they are no where near the same genre!

Everything else I agree.....Centuries is just too overplayed on the radio already and it murders ,me. It's like how many times uptown funk is played....as much as I like the song.

I hate that 4 Non Blondes song. My sister screeching to that will never leave my memory. I hope I can disable that. It will be pure torture to have to endure that again.

I'll give the other songs a listen, I don't know them.

Ugh, I hate that it was "Centuries" that got picked. Between the radio, every sporting event ever in the past year, etc. I am very much over that song. The CENTURIEEEEEEES is particularly annoying for me. Would have preferred "Uma Thurman" off of that album, but I will have to deal with it.

Heard the song live at Download 2012 when passing the stage one time, and I've just listened to a few other live performances, sounds...pretty unremarkable to me. Heavier but still similar, and forgettable.

bleh, blast your opinions and the ability to have them lol
