yes...............that's definitely the gosh dang choco post.....son of a bitch. Maybe they are going past the boundary in this footage.....we are literally watching the game unfold as they complete it....oh dear gosh that would be terrible and would mean development is not going to hot lol.

honestly, I just want a good story based trailer that'll whet my appetite enough for me to say "okay, see you next year" when it releases. I'm a bit bored of being strung along with tidbits here and there and promises of content in future updates. one good big daddy 8 min trailer with some gameplay and world building with release window and i'm all in.

i wish they'd follow with the KH route where they just say "hey, here's a trailer! see you at the next conference"

Re trailer length: the average person has a pretty low attention span (according to market research) which is why SE has focused on shorter trailers for their overseas marketing based on some things mentioned to me recently. I expect such a trend to continue.

I remember MGS4's fifteen minute trailer...

Those were the days...that said I'm happy with a 3 minute one if it's new stuff/story focused etc.

Oh come on i can't believe the only thing we're getting out of an hour long ATR (hell its actually coming BEFORE it) is a 3min long trailer...
Do you have any idea of the actual content of the livestream?

That's good imo.

I feel like long trailers spoil too much, like the ARR patches trailers. You already know everything before the patch actually lands.

They're going to announce the localizations for Dragon Quest 7, 8, Slime 3, Theatrhythm and 11.

:-(

Well let's remain positive maybe some actual legit info is given at the ATR

Like M_Night would say #Believe

Clearly Kojima dosn't give a fuck.

That said, I apreciate short trailers too, no need to spoil the whole game.

Uhh... who is saying that's all we are getting? The trailer could be short, but an hour-long ATR could include all kinds of stuff from new tech demos/behind the scenes footage to some direct feed gameplay footage.

Since they're giving this trailer a name, I imagine this is just one of a series of trailers they'll be releasing regularly(most likely around major events).

I guess it's better than blowing their wad early, but we all know by release they'll have said and shown way too much.

So there are some people saying that the shot of the team rehearsing the ATR depicts Duscae on the screenshot. I'm looking at it and I'm not sure... Is that really the Wiz Chocobo Post? If it is it looks like the ATR footage may take place in Duscae.

What do you guys think? I'm not complaining either way with the confirmed story trailer but I thought I'd mention.
Is it just me, or does the ground look wet?

Yeah. Realistically, I'm not expecting anything longer than 4 minutes. 4 minutes would be okay with me.

Nah I'm just saying that's why they've been putting out a lot of shorter trailers as of late. I don't know what they're showing, no. I haven't really asked.

Personally I reckon the trailer will be similar in execution to the big re-reveal trailer (where Versus officially became XV), perhaps a tad shorter.
I expect there will be snippets of new CG scenes (with a focus on story), lots of looks at new locations and enemies (maybe a hint of some new summons) and just generally a pretty big blow out of new stuff they've been sitting on while gamers have been saitated with Duscae.
Top that off with a release date at the end (or the very least, a small window, i.e 'Winter', 'Spring' etc) and people should be quite happy with that, I know I will be.
After the excitement over FFVIIR they really ought to get people paying attention to XV again, considering this is their next big title, so I think this would be an ideal opportunity to do that on an international scale - we'll see!

I want a leak :3

4 minute trailer would be great. I'm expecting a big story and Insomnia focus. Just please show me some more city exploration. I really hope to see a bit of in game Accordo or another city. Maybe some Insomnia exploration snippets too not just combat. And some new Shinomura music !

Who ever cuts Square Enix Trailers needs to get fired/moved somewhere else and replaced with someone who knows not to spoil shit.

Like the Terminator guys cut there trailers.

Considering how much they spoiled of FF Type-0 in the HD trailers... lol

Honestly, yeah. After this, assuming that it comes with a release window and it's a satisfying trailer, I'm going on a black-out until it's on store shelves. By the time I bought XIII I knew the game like the back of my hand.

Even if you don't know what's being spoiled, it can still be a big deal.

If a trailer shows something 50 hours into the game...and you are expecting that memorable shot to be in the game and you don't see it, then that shot is always at the back of your mind. It can ruin any feeling of pacing when that happens.

Like, if I see Bahamut being summoned at Niflheim or something, and I know that I won't get there until the end of the game, then that moment and feeling of pacing until that moment is ruined.

I don't know why people are expecting much more than that trailer. That's usually more than enough for a game making an appearance on E3.

As long as it's good and it gives us a release date or window.

My point being, from the trailer alone, you wouldn't know that Bahamut was at Niflheim, and you certainly wouldn't know when to expect it in the game's plot. The trailer itself is just a load of disparate scenes spliced together, of stuff happening. So unless you spend time analysing the trailer, picking parts out, trying to fit things into the plot, then what you're seeing isn't really a spoiler. If you already knew that Bahamut gets summoned, that Niflheim is a place, and an end of game setting at that, then you're already spoiled yourself IMO. If you're sensetive to this kind of thing then maybe it's best to watch the trailer just once or twice and then forget about it.

That's true. The thing is that with these flashy trailers, they purposely show memorable moments from throughout the game. Even if I know nothing about the scene, nothing about the character(s), if the shot is very memorable then that'll be in the back of my mind until I get to that point in the game. It's not how you want to experience a story.

Of course, that's the territory that comes when watching trailers, but it can definitely hurt my impression on the game. That's why, ideally, you would have stuff from the first half of the game shown in the marketing. We know that won't happen, though.
