Final Fantasy XV 'Dawn' trailer

Trailer didn't really come off to me as particularly striking, and it didn't really evoke the kind of emotion from me that it seemed to be going for. Lack of context made it kind of bland for me, to be honest.

I'm really not okay with the father's redesign

Tabata just keeps disappointing me

I do really like the scenario we are finally getting to see here.. is at least different from other mainline Final Fantasy games aside from Tidus and Jecht. Music was aces - as expected from Queen Shimomura. Graphics look pretty..

.. that was definitely a teaser though. BS at a trailer.

Wow. I really want Nomura's Versus 13.

The royal family dressed in modern day suits, the royalty being like the mafia, contrasted by enemies wearing incredibly simplified armour...A city exactly replicating a blackened Japanese city....A so called "love story" that involves both parties being forced to try to murder each other...All major reasons why I was so obsessed with a world I barely knew anything about.

All gone.

I didn't really think this stuff was gone in the new version.

Anyone else care to comment?

I was expecting a release date at the end instead of Preorder at Amazon now. Why SE why....

UGH I'M SO TIRED OF SQUARE ENIX SPOILING EVERYTHING IN THEIR TRAILERS!

*Watches trailer*

UGH WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW MORE? THIS WAS SO DULL!

who is saying this?

set a date and maybe highlight some mechanics/features. they also need to stop drip feeding us story tidbits that I would rather experience in-game.

Fair enough. I think the animations in the trailer were very good. Particulalry between the king and his son. However, it went on too long and it is a difficult scene to portray given they are going for subtlety. I think they did well though in that regard. The game looks stunning, up there with the best.

The king looks pretty different now. I like the change.
The faces particularly look doll-like to me instead of life-like. But strangely Noctis here looks more like an actual person than when he's an adult, I kinda wish that was his hairstyle as an adult.

What do you mean?

Ahead of the ceremony, Prince Noctis, heir to the Lucian throne, sets forth from his homeland to formalize the union of states through his marriage to the Lady Lunafreya of the imperial province of Tenebrae.

^^^^^^

Typical cliched arranged marriage bs.

I just want to be excited for this game again. This trailer was longer than the 2 previous ones, but had less content and less interesting content. Oh well, let's see what they say in the ATR

How long would it take for previous Regis to grow facial hair like current possible Regis? Perhaps he's been in a war for months and his facial hair grew.

I'm not sure how some people are complaining about the graphics. As far as I'm concerned, it's competing as one of the best-looking multiplatform games revealed so far.

The graphics for the most part looked great. Top notch. But in the scene with the father & son, the car in the immediate foreground looked off and so did the the other assets in the background. Especially when it zoomed out to show the building. That building looked like it was an asset from type-0 HD rather than something made for this gen. The vaseline effect going on at that point didn't help and the shot was given a lot of emphasis. I can see people complaining about graphics if they are just looking at that scene.

Which is a ruse.

They're not getting married.

What, is Noctis a lesser character because he's arranged to get married too?

this trailer just reinforced what I was scared about, that she'll turn into some sort of damsel.

the fire that we saw in stella's eyes will never appear in luna's :(
Yes, because a child is a fair match against some mysterious knight guy. Adult Luna, perhaps, but child Luna? Maybe crying child Noctis is just a pussy.

My reactions to this trailer...

"Fifteen years ago..." Final Fantasy Versus XIII was unveiled.
Oh wait, that was only 9 years ago? This must be an actual story plot point.

<watches 30 seconds of back story>

Man, Noctis' father really loves his son. Let's watch them hug for 90 seconds.

And it's over.

I got the impression that the man holding young Noctis was about to give him up, and that King Regis was going to adopt him or something.
