Rise of the Tomb Raider Syria Demo

Watching that was a lot of fun. I can't wait to play it. The only thing I don't like is the exp counter that pops up every so often. It's so lame. I wish they would go the Zelda route and have power ups be power ups instead of something you're "grinding" towards.

Other than that, Tomb Raider is getting all my attention in November. Everything else is cleared out.

It is good to see some tomb raiding in this Tomb Raider game. Easily the best demonstration thus far (as opposed to "climb this mountain" and "Lara Croft is female Rambo").

I'll wait for PS4 version, hopefully with 60 fps.
 
Looks good, but man did it piss me off when it highlighted that rock wall that she needed to pick axe through. Don't treat me like an idiot, please. Thank you.

Hopefully ps4 version lets you turn hints off.
 
Funny when people say Rambo. Location and that helicopter very close to Rambo 3. I expect there will be some mega explosion escape scene with the helicopter blowing up, I mean making your route of escape into those slidy slides that Lara ends up in all the time.
 
Graphics look clean but.. This is so far from what Tomb Raider was all about, it's just bleh, nothing, why did they have to turn TR into a generic third person run-jump-shooter? And the writing/VO is beyond awful.

I can't help but resent this and the previous game because so long as they are successful, we will never get a real Tomb Raider game.
 
Damn that looks fiiiine. Can't wait to get my hands on that and go on long nights of spelunking.

Game itself looks pretty good too.

The facial animation in this game is more impressive to me than Uncharted 4 but UC 4 has great facial animations as well. The animations here flow together quite nicely.
 
Game looks amazing, day one purchase for sure. Loved the reboot. Yes, it wasn't classic TR, but a good game nonetheless. And as a PC/Xbox gamer I've never played Uncharted, so let me have my fun, okay? :P

They should've shown this at the Xbox conference. That part looked like an expansion for TR2013, not a sequel.

That's what you get when PS fanboys keep repeating over and over that Xbox One graphics are absolute shit and comparable to N64.... some actually start to believe it.
 
Overall i think it looks nice, but I feel it is just following the same formula as the last gen action adventure games turned up to 11. U4 feels like it is innovating on the formula, doing something that seems obviously above what was done last gen. The visuals look very good overall, but the lighting is a bit bloomy.
 
So much scripted gameplay, auto-platforming for dummies, painted edges you climb on because even auto-platforming too much for some people, somehow? QTEs everywhere, puzzles so dumb a child could solve them, but on top of that the game tells you how to solve it anyway. Finally the 'gritty and dark' nonsense returns.

Awful. This reboot continues to take a dump on why the series was good.
 
Each video has this looking better and better, I'm pumped for it, just not too thrilled about Fallout 4 dropping at the same time. Oh well, first world problems I guess. May try a 3rd run through of the previous one before it releases. I know some people have an issue with how easy they make jumping, climbing and general traversal and interaction, but I usually soak in the world a bit more than I should so having certain things in place to prevent me from dieing when my eye wanders to soak in the details.....long story short,I can deal with some simplicity.

That's what killed the first one for me and that's what will probably kill this one for me. You just can't get lost in these tombs and slowly figure your way out. Nah, just straight line that shit and get ready to look at the next big cinematic action set from the devs.

They fucking turned TR into a goddamn Disney ride.

It's amazing how many people loved pushing forward on their sticks and pressing A with no sense of player agency in the first game. It's surprising so many people were even looking forward to this.

After recently playing Tomb Raider III for a bit recently, this 'tomb' is...laughable. Oh well. I expect some good set pieces like the first game hopefully. And a few gruesome death scenes.
 
I am already onboard for this game and liked tombraider reboot a lot so my criticism are very minor.

Graphics are mixed bag. Sine elements look current gen while others look last gen. Tr 2013 in the other hand one of the best looking game last gen

I really hate moaning of voice actress. She has very fake accent and acting

Also lara being hurt has been overdone at this point.
 
Oh wow a actual tomb with traps and shit and awesome atmosphere I might add.:o Too bad everything was also scripted/cinematic galore, while Lara doesn't shut up.XD
 
First minute impressions:

why is she wearing so much (or any) makeup?
lol at her hair
lol at the voice acting and dialogue
lol at the car crash physics

I liked the first one well enough but its weaknesses appear to be carrying over to the sequel.
 
Looks great. Definitely my favourite footage so far. The sting of having no uncharted 4 this Christmas has gone for sure. This'll make the wait much easier to swallow. Day 1.
 
Incredible looking level design, really nice change of pace from everything in the first game and what's been shown so far.

The game itself looks average at best but I'll probably get it on sale for a weekend distraction, why not?

Also, she looks like YET another different woman, again. They really need to pick an actual face and hairstyle for her and just keep it.

I never really took much notice of the period Tomb Raider is set. I thought the first games were set in present day, so around the mid 1990s?

With this being a prequel, should this be set in the late 80s early 90s or something? She looks to have mid 2000 equipment on her like the type of light and snazzy GPS screen, and the screen type you see looks 2008 onwards possibly? Not that it matters much to me.
