It's not just women, it's anyone with text 2 speech (like Reynad or Forsen).
They do this because it creates more money for them.
If someone is being harassed I can see the outrage, but the streamers and viewers are both in on this spectacle. No one is doing anything illegal or even against the Twitch TOS. If people want to make or spend money this way, who am I to tell them not to?

Everybody on Twitch is competing for attention. Every view counts and it doesn't discriminate against trolls. Of course it's not real, who would ever let that continue without turning off the camera?

Of course it's an act, she gets roughly 1 every 10-20 seconds. That's like around 250 an hour. I bet she will keep this up for a few hours. Even with tax deduction she still gets around 1000 for a show. She's is playing the twitch game really well.

Seems like you didn't understand what we meant at all. We are talking about how donation alerts take away from the actual purpose of this platform. I'm well aware that people can get partnered, which allows streamers to have subscribers and play ads whenever they want. We are not demanding people not donating... We are just saying that donation alerts shouldn't be on stream.

I think these kinds of streams really, really feed the misogynist stereotype of girls who play video games and as such are actually quite harmful. If I was twitch I'd shut them all down. If I was a girl I'd be super pissed off at these girls. About as pissed off as I get at Pewdiepie whenever I stumble upon one of his videos, maybe even more.
