So was this game actually any good? I mean besides the awful motion blur I've heard so much about?

Some nice concepts, but I fizzled out real fast. Besides the motion blur(patched and bearable now on PS4), the need to return to a savepoint to do any inventory/equipment management pissed me off more. Plot is kind of aloof requiring a bit of research to fully flesh out(and even then a second play to fill in vital bits).

Combat is interesting at first though and I liked swapping about the different characters who mostly play differently, but the 'draw' mechanic feels really janky and the action itself can get tiring fast over time. Really wanted to like it more than I did, but I have felt no motivation to give it more playtime.

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1 64bit
Processor: CPU Core i5 2.7GHz
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX750 mp4 [H.264]
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
I wonder what they mean by that, lol

Anyone know what's going on with Type 0? I went to preorder it and it says that I cannot, even though just other day I could. (Japanese steam store)

just got a email 26% off code for greenmangaming and got it for $19.98

I am also staring the GMG deal in the face, is this game worth it? I typically like JRPGs, and goddamnit square where the hell is steam Lightning returns you promised us the trilogy what the fuck!

FF Type-0 is a good Action-RPG with big flaws related to the battle system and depending on your opinion, story. I enjoyed it but it's my least favorite of Tabata's games.
Lightning Returns is coming this fall on PC.

Good news about Lightning this fall. Also i bit the bullet on the 19.98 price. Basically a steam sale price after a couple of months at launch so couldnt resist.

Do I get the doto items with this or are those steam only?

Pre-order now!

Pre-purchase FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD and receive the Master Chocobo as your courier and Moogle (Class Zero) as your ward in DOTA 2, plus an exclusive FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD loading screen.

Whoops, sorry. Don't think I've ever seen a case of a non-Steam preorder getting TF2 or Dota 2 items before so just went with previous experience.

Probably means Nuuvem will get them too if they sell the game before release.

I was planning to wait for GMG deal, but decided to grab it from Steam directly because of refunds, just in case the port is another shitshow.

Guess I'll play through this and wait for Lightning Returns before starting the XIII trilogy. No consoles the past 2 generations really set me back on the FF series.

To those who've played it: how long is it?

HowLongToBeat makes it clock in about 30 hours, but I've also read claims on forums that it's way over 40 hours. Some even say it's as long as XIII.

I'm interested in a slightly briefer experience rather than the meaty XIII-trilogy, so I'm curious!

If you go straight to the main missions you should be able to beat it in 20 hours yeah, but some missions could be a bit difficult if you don't level all your characters. I beat the game in 27 hours IIRC.

One playthrough is enough unless you want to play the missions that you couldn't play in the first playthrough, because the new cutscenes don't add a lot to the story. The class members get more exposure and a bit more development but all the answers you need are in the Archives.

My first playthrough was 60 hours. I did absolutely every thing I could possibly do in a single run though.

Takeharu Ishimoto needs to compose the Final Fantasy XVI soundtrack.

So is the game simply not well-ported for the PS4, or why do people prefer the PC port?

PS4 version was fine, but it could have used some tweaks (which it eventually got). PC version offers more options though which isn't a bad thing.

Well, I don't know about other people, but I prefer PC for everything for a great variety of reasons, including convenience, library longevity, input and graphical options, graphical quality, and full control over the running program and its environment which allows for modifications to both.

My playthrough (which is actually multiple playthroughs since I wanted to beat all the secret bosses) was over 100 hours.

I also didn't do stuff like the Agito tower nor did I level everyone to lv.99 nor did I use the exploit on the secret training stuff (don't know if its still there on the PC version).

One playthrough should be anywhere between 20-40h depending on how much side content you like to do (there is much more side content in the game than in the main story lol)

Any word on when preorders will be made available once again in Japan? They pulled it about 2 weeks ago, and it goes on sale in less than a week, cutting it close for preorders.

Big Picture Mode :")
Also because my PC boots faster than any of my consoles.

Just have someone send you a gift copy in exchange for, say, PayPal Bucks. It'll work just fine provided the buyer isn't in one of these countries or Turkey.

Can you buy it on Greenmangaming ? It qualifies for the pre order stuff if that's what you wish.

Buying this again for some reason. I will definitely do a second playthrough this time with JP voices to see the stuff you can only see on your second run-through. It should hold me over until MGSV.

For those that have played both the PSP and the HD versions, how big of a leap in graphics is it?

Pretty huge, for character models at least. They used the CG models from cutscenes for characters, so they look much better. Lighting is also improved, and resolution is obviously higher.

That's pretty nice. I was expecting a resolution bump and little else.

Never remember how close to release GMG has keys. Day of?
