Destiny PSA: Xur's selling the Gjallerhorn this week

go and get it Guardians!

If you don't know it's by far the most powerful weapon in the game for PVE content. it will receive a nerf in TTK but it still should be a great weapon.

Congrats to all guardians who can finally get their hands on it!

I no longer feel bad for having 5 of them drop for me.

Haha, he's selling it after a year. Damnit Bungie. Glad I got my drop back in April or I would've gone crazy.

This is literally the only thing that would of convinced me to boot the game back up until the taken king comes out...

i knew they would do it. get people to boot up the game and get them hooked again just right before TTK.

and it wont matter because soon there will be a new horn to chase.

Yeah, I'm not even sure it's worth doing the weekly for it. Doesn't seem great for PvP and there won't be fresh PvE content until TTK... and by then it will have been significantly nerfed.

Course I'll get it.

lol I should boot it back up just to get it. Stop playing completely in December.

I wonder is I have any coins...

Given the timing I now know for a fact the selection isn't random. It goes on sale once, meta involves around it, incoming nerf and meta getting flipped due to a major expansion and what do you know, it goes on sale again.

Very funny Bungie.

Ok hearing all this nerf stuffing didn't buy six

Only three

Finally ha ha. What annoys me is whenever you want to join some destiny game with people, they literally want max everything and always an ghorn. I don't even agree it's so OP, but I guess I'll find out now and I'm more happy about not being shunned because I don't own one gun anymore.

That was already known. Some data miner was able to figure out Xur's inventory for several weeks in advance. He also learned that occasionally, Bungie would manually replace an item with another.

It really is OP.
It's by no mean a requirement for any activity in the game, but it makes everything reaaaally that much easier.

I've been wondering if I should download the game again after over eight months, and return to the grind. I take it, that my save file is in their server, as it's not on my HDD?

Finally, all those "it was taken out of the loot table" conspiracy theories can be put to rest once and for all. Luck of the draw all along.

Congrats to those who are getting one for the first time! The current Nightfall is a great place to try it out (be sure to get Wolfpack Rounds on it first, though).

It's one of only two rockets in the game with both tracking and proximity detonation. Also has high velocity and blast radius, and Wolfpack Rounds means it's the only RL that can kill a full-health Bladedancer. It's a top-tier PvP choice assuming you can spare the Exotic slot.

And even though it's getting nerfed, I'm sure it'll always be a useful PvE Exotic despite not being the overwhelming 100% best strat everywhere like it is now.

Yours has proximity detonation? What the hell's wrong with mine!?

I came back to Destiny this week after a looooong hiatus, thought "I just need to replace that blue heavy slot and I'm good", and then this happens.

It's like all my shit karma from Destiny launch is coming back around.

Yeah, it's on their server, afaik.

YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, nearly a whole bloody year without one. I'm buying 3 for all my Char's then sharding one because F U Xur

Can't wait for DeeJ's comment on this. I expect a pretentious "See, guardians? We're always listening!"

He's just spouting random #gjallarhornfacts

oh, and this:

DeeJ @DeeJ_BNG 45s
Tomorrow's forecast calls for a deluge of the phrase "I earned my Gjallarhorn," on Destiny forums. #gjallarhornfacts

#IEarnedMyGjallarhorn

Jk. But it seems the nerf is gonna be more severe than I thought if they're just gonna hand the most powerful PvE exotic to everyone.

It's a hidden perk. Test it! As if the thing isn't OP enough it also has a super useful unlisted perk :p

To be honest though? Proximity is 100% required in PvP but more often than not a disadvantage in PvE. Way too often you'll kill yourself because you shot while an enemy was too close to you and it proximity detonates with you right there :p

If people are frothing at the mouth just because they're finally able to buy a weapon that makes bullet sponges more tolerable, you done goofed something up Bungie.

Or you waste one valuable rocket against a thrall passing by instead of that boss you were aiming at way over there...
