Oh boy. Can't wait.
After megatons during this E3 I can expect everything. So here is my wishlist for Sony:
- new Wipeout on PS4/Vita
- new jrpg from Sony Japan
- The Last of Us 2
- new Crash or Crash 1-3 HD
- Shenmue 1&2 HD
- new exclusive game from...Kojima
Thank you Sony.

Nothing will be more amazing than for someone in Crash costume to come on stage to announce an animated crash movie

So many people are asking for Sony to get Crash, but how many have thought about who the hell would actually make it? There isn't anything that suggests that ND want to have anything to do with Crash anymore. So who would actually develop the game?

I just want SSM to be there with God of War 4. Don't care for any other announcement. E3 had all the megatons I could ask for. I just want to see my eyes bleed with SSM's mastery on display now.

I don't know why people keep saying "this is an E3 game, Sony won't announce it here". When was the last time Sony announced one of their big sellers at E3? The last entry of Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, & The Last of Us (their 5 or more million sellers) were all announced outside of E3.

Sony doesn't think E3 is as big as people believe. It gets a lot of enthusiast press coverage, but a reveal trailer on their twitter account gets them more exposure.

Sanzaru Games or Insomniac is my guess if it ever happens.

But I am sure IG would rather work on Ratchet and Clank.

That is completely untrue. A twitter announcement gets more exposure than an E3 reveal? Like, what?

Playstation's twitter account has 8 million followers, which is significantly more than any other gaming twitter account, their YouTube channel is also the biggest brand on YouTube.

E3 gets them 300k viewers at best, all of the hardcore variety, that's why indies & AA games can do fine getting enthusiast press coverage, while the big budget games need TV & billboard ads to be successful.

E3 gets additional coverage and attention, by a wider net of global press. Whatever announcements get made there, also get made on official Twitter and YouTube accounts, so in that sense it only adds to the degree of consumption.

True, but Sony doesn't think it's big enough for their first party games.

Their PSX UC4 demo got as many viewers as their E3 one did, so their first party games don't get any less exposure outside of E3.

Gamescon I think is far more important, instead of getting 300k viewers on Twitch, they get 300k people potentially playing their games on the floor.

The PSX YT demo video only has about 800k more views than the E3 2015 one, despite being a much older video, on top of which, it was the actual first reveal and gameplay shown from the new title, so you'd expect it to be more popular. The fact that the new video is already almost at the same number of views, despite views also being split between another longer extended walkthrough of the same demo, I think actually shows just how impactful E3 can be.

Man I wish I could go but the event is scheduled the weekend right before exams. I look forward to watching a livestream of the press conference though. However since I graduate this fall I hope to attend PSX in 2016.

YouTube views are extremely front loaded, that's why YouTubers get upset when they get a copyright claim, they lose monetization for a couple of days during the time they dispute the claim.

Why else do you think Sony doesn't reveal their bigger titles at E3? I'm pretty sure they have more data internally than we do.

Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, & GTA also get revealed outside of E3, so it's not just Sony that thinks a reveal outside of E3 with a big Internet campaign is bigger than E3.

The internet and social networking has made E3 "just another event".

Some people see it as a massive deal, but I've found other shows to be of equal importance in terms of reveals.

Sony could skip E3 and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference in how their reveals go, because the other events like Gamescom, Tokyo, Paris and Experience are all big enough events to cover those reveals because people aren't tied to "one area", they can watch these events live around the world.

They won't though because it would cause too much "Sony lost" nonsense.

I hope Sony knows that after last year they've set themselves an expectation for Vita fans. We've generally gotten used to Vita being ignored at gaming events and set our expectations accordingly, but last years shock Vita love sets expectations for this year. If they don't deliver then it's more heartbreak. This has to be the one event of the year where Sony show Vita and Vita fans love. I hope Sony is aware of this.

Kinda interesting this thread took off more than the TGS prediction thread. :)

This isn't a competition, of course, but show TGS some love, you guys.

At the very least I hope we get more Suikoden 1 & 2 esq announcements. Or just PS Classics in general, as they've slowed down too much for my liking. Always prefer playing those in the Vita rather than blown up on a 50 inch screen. They should work on getting Square to add more of its PSP library digitally, like Valkyrie Profile and Kingdom Hearts BBS, too.

Localisation announcements couldn't hurt either.

Honestly if this wasn't 18 and up and allowed kids, I would NOT go and I could only imagine how awful it would be having kids near expensive, pre-release hardware and in a convention environment full of gamers. People would get so mad.

Anyway, for the GAF meetup...

I can do ID badges. Like, GAF VIP badges. If those of you going are interested :)

I'll be interested Xenorevlis that actually sounds awesome. I saw your banner work nice job or you working with krae_man on the Gaf meetup ?

Hell I'll tell you a sad story being at the PlayStation Experience Keynote front row and six people next to me all playing Nintendo 3DS (Shakes Head).

So this is where they are going to announce the next Parappa, Syphon Filter, Gravity Rush 2 and Wipeout? I'm in!

Honestly, in addition of ff7 remake, Uncharted 4, horizon zéro dawn, tlg, if they bring gow 4, gt7, and say the last of us 2, it would be fucking unbelievable.

Still waiting on a lot of last year's reveals, mainly Yakuza 5. I was hoping it would hit before the big Fall games drop.

Also hope we hear more on Day of the Tentacle SE soon, maybe a January release like Grim Fandango.

I'm sure momentum will rise significantly once we get an official date on Sony's pre-TGS conference. I'm surprised they haven't given one yet, seeing as how it's probably less than a month from happening now.

Didn't The Last of Us get announced before Uncharted 3 released? Pretty sure it did.

Nope, U3 was released in November then they announced TLoU at the VGA's in December. They were originally planning to announce it at that years E3, but plans changed. That's why that hint about TLoU exists in U3. They just forgot to take it out when they delayed the announcement. :P

Oh that's right. I had it in my head that it was an E3 announcement for some reason.

What about third party multiplat reveals? Capcom could show RE7 or the new Capcom Vancouver game

I'm so jealous of all the people attending haha. I hope they bring this to Europe in the future.

Have fun guys!

It would be awesome for them to do this around the world. But since PGW is in end of october-november, doesnt really make sense to make two big events in a month spam like this.

Sony Bend is up? Probably not until E3 2016, but I'm dying to see that open-world horror game. We need a leak like that Horizon concept art.

Its my safest bet for a first party reveal in a gameplay scale. I think they might save GoW for E3 2016. Maybe a teaser ending PSX

I am expecting this from the conferences

TGS
Focus on the heap of Japanese games that have been announced in recent months adding to some first party titles like Gravity Rush HD and the sequel.

PGS
More of a focus on Christmas plans with bundle announcements for November and December. Price cut a possibility from November 1st. More of the big first party games will be out by then.

PSX
Focus on a bumper 2016 lineup and adding to it.

My crazy predictions
Sony bought the Monkey Island IP and contracted Double Fine to make it. Re-releaseing Monkey Island 1 and 2 Special Edition on PS4.
Full Throttle Special Edition PS4/Vita/PC
Legend of Dragoon being remade and Rebooted.

I am really looking forward to the Third Party Productions has up their sleeve this year. Suikoden I and II on Vita was a highlight for me.

Media Molecule, Sanzaru, Tarsier, Japan Studio, Insomniac?

Damn, was hoping it was in vegas again where my wife and I had our wedding last year.. Maybe we'll make the drive down after vegas. Anyway, it was a great time last year and looking forward to this year's event!

They need to find a developer who has a passion for the series. If you look at Sanzaru Games they had a passion for the Sly Cooper series and watching the interviews with them it come across at just that.

Personally I think he should remain a memory. The industry has grown and changed and I don't think he would fit in. He would be fighting the same battle as Sonic trying to remain relevant.
