Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

I wish I could help - I have a Venom too, but I've never had this issue. I've played USF4 PS4 for an hour or two at a time with zero problems. If you have it set to PS4 mode the PS4 should recognize it as a PS4 controller as soon as you press the PS button.

I really wonder what's going on there, considering I've never heard any other Venom owner have this problem. Guess the ebay seller sold you a faulty stick.

Thankfully the ebay seller has begrudgingly accepted the return and will refund the postage costs. Will look to just buy the stick new from Amazon, as I've still got a sanwa stick and buttons coming from Arcade World. I do think I prefer the Venom case over the TE2. Which Madcatz have said they'd refund but minus postage costs. So that battle continues.

That TE2 in all white looks sick though. Almost makes me want to keep it.

Hey guys, not sure if this is customary but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding Yatagarasu artwork for a Hori real arcade pro 3 (HRAP3). I found a good example of a design for a TE2 but havent had much luck finding art for the stick I own.

I was going to attempt to make my own with Gimp but I dont really understand the process of inverting the colors.

Thanks for the links. I don't have photoshop but does anyone know if you were to want this done by this site, if you could send the the artwork and they'd show a preview of what it would look like? I have a picture and it looks like it might be okay but I'm not 100% sure.

Just realized my stick is coming fedex. My past 4 packages from fedex look like someone decided to throw them off a skyscraper.

No. The art has to be submitted to them. Maybe you can find someone to do the art for you. What kind of art are you looking for your stick?

Just a quick update on my my mini arcade machine.build progress.

Sorry for not posting that much, I wanted to have something physical before posting again, otherwise it's just boring read posts about planning/concepts and such drivel.

So I had my first go at using a laser cutter.

This is what I got :D

Only took 2 minutes to cut as well, really tempted to learn CAD programs now :) really impressed with the results using 6nm mdf, really sturdy and strong, no flex, will apply a acrylic layer on top, probably white. or red. my only two complaints are that I should use flat screw bolts, while the current ones are not uncomfortable they are still annoying when playing. The other annoyance are the length of happ buttons, I doubt I can fit buttons on the side as they will hit the other buttonss due to size (280mmx140mm). I really like it though, it's compact but still has plenty of spacing for fingers. I was really scared I screwed up the joystick mount but it was a perfect fit :)

I also solved the 12v to 5v problem! Costs less than £3 and no rainbow square yet so far :)

I'm going to buy a sheet of MDF and cut out the rest of the parts probably next week., wish me luck!

I might stick with this design now that I think of it.

Not sure how to get the white etching on red acrylic, maybe using a cut-out on clear acrylic I guess.

So I've finally gotten to use my recently bought HRAP 4 Kai and I wasn't aware that it actually had the worst input lag out of all the ps4 sticks.
Now its not unplayable, but its definitely noticeable. Would I be fine with just getting a PS360+ and swapping the original PCB with that? Is it easy to install?

PS360+ is a no-solder PCB so it's easy. Just need a screwdriver. However you will have issues playing on PS4 if you use it. It still gets locked out at 8 minutes.

Seems like a small annoyance but I'd rather deal with that than having to drop money on another stick. Do I have to unplug and plug the stick back in to reconnect or will reconnect automatically?

So I need serious help with this stick I just got from Amazon. I cant tell if its working or not. Its a HRAP3 ( Hori Real Arcade Pro V3) for PS3. The turbo button works and I can pick which button to use the turbo hold fuction (I can see the light flash and then stay lit when on hold). But I cant seem to get it to work on the ps3 at all. Is there something im missing? Should it just plug in and work?

It's also not working on PC but it could be Win 10/user error.

Not sure what to do, I can send it in for a refund but I got a good deal on it and it could just be an easy fix that I don't know about. Any advice would really help.

It could just be a loose connection somewhere, is this common after a lot of use?

Any way to test if it works? Or if some parts work so I know what needs fixed?

The pcb for the PS3 RAP is right under the turbo panel. It would be very unlikely for something to be loose in the stick. Is the stick used? It very likely that the pcb is fried or the D wires are fucked.

The stick should work automatically for ps3 and pc. Is the anyway for you to open the stick?

Got my xb1 Atrox today. Doap. Just seems so nicely built. Love how I can open it up and there's tools in there, another stick top, a very nice usb cable with a screw on end for the fightstick. Just all around high quality. Haven't had time to really test it but it was sick playing KI with it for a bit.

Yea im gunna open it tomorrow and see whats up. Its from Amazon but used so I can always return it but I want to see if its an easy fix first. I already ordered the damn custom artwork panel and stuff too :(

If it is the pcb or D wires that are fried will it be easy to tell/fix? if not could it be anything else? Its obviously getting power if the turbo button works and led lights up.

You can unplug and replug or just hit Select+HK (iirc) to disconnect it and then Select to reconnect it.

Random question for creating art for a top panel.

Where can I find Hori and the RAP logos that are on the HRAP V series with transparent backgrounds? I see alot of people use them but google finds nothing that I want.

How easy is it to replace the HRAP 4's joystick? It seems smaller than the Mad Catz SE1 SF4 stick I have (or maybe that one is custom) to where I can't seem to grip the RAP's balltop comfortably to use.

Is there one that'll raise the stick's balltop by like... an inch or two?

I commissioned that Ibuki art specially for my stick and though I really want to commission a new one for my TE2 I will probably just end up using the same.

My baby. I just got a TE2 for my PS4 and need to customize it.

That looks so awesome!

I was cleaning out storage today and found a stick I had commissioned years ago. It was meant to hook up to 360/PSX/GC/Xbox, but the MC Cthulhu and RJ-45 cables never played nice and I wasn't knowledgeable enough to figure out why, so it stayed a 360/PC sick. I may be back eventually for help in figuring out what's up :) The paint is all jacked up and it needs to be sanded and re-painted as well.

Super simple, but that's what I wanted and I like it :D

I really like the simplicity of it. Honestly I would rather have the form factor of yours rather than the MadCatz Pro. Though I am happy with the form factor of the TE2.

Not necessarily a pick-up, but I customized an arcade stick for a friend and she sent me this picture today :)

What turns you off about the form factor? I've never used that stick, or even seen it before honestly, but one of my first reaction was wow that looks comfy.

For those who have amassed a stick collection and who don't have a ton of space how do you store them all? Do you keep the boxes and just stack them up or do you keep them all sitting out? Some sort of shelving or compartment thing?

I'm not usually one for premade sticks, but the FS Pro is pretty comfy. It's a little bit too wide for me personally but the little slope in the front is nice.

Other the the two I use the most often, I keep them on a dedicated shelving unit. My main two are in a little compartment in my entertainment center.

I have a table I got from Ikea that has space underneath. I keep some on a shelf and some on the floor.

I keep two of my VLX underneath my bed in bags, and the one I'm using as my desk stick I keep near my desk.

Really nice job on your fs pro! The button color choice and arrangement is a nice touch & obviously the custom art is really good as well.

Hey man, we really should be friends. Any way to get that white usb procable? Future friends want to know lol.

Maybe I should look into a small shelf type thing. I just keep the couple I use sitting out, and the rest in their original boxes. Someone needs to make an arcade stick hutch or cubicle that allows them to be stored on levels vertically to minimize footprint efficiently.

Is it possible to buy a spare usb cable for the Atrox? It uses that round end plug to go into the base of the stick. I have my other cord all tied up and it wraps around the wall and whatnot. If I wanted to move my stick to another room it would be a bit of work. A shorter maybe 6ft one would be nice.

It's similar to that. It's 5 pin, but it's arranged in a star pattern. It would have to be female too.
