New Kojima edited MGSV launch trailer coming

Holy melodrama people.

He's not dying.

Guy has been living like a king for the past decade, I'm pretty sure he finds this bare bones workstation nostalgic if anything.

Start humble, finish humble.

It's a sea change and probably will lead to a better output from Kojima, but it's also been a constant in gaming for me. New Metal Gear Solid games to look forward to. I feel just a little sad about the whole scenario because it is my favourite series. I can't help feel a little sad that a series almost as old as I am is coming to an end.

Fairly common video editing keyboard in case you were wondering

yep, they stuck him on a cubicle machine. His cool production keyboard with the black and red and white keys is boxed up.

anyone noticed the "what about him" at the end of the very first metal gear V trailer? When snake is going into the coma? "Him"..has to be Chico.

It's been one hell of a ride, so guys what's your favourite MGS trailer? Mines got to be the Nuclear trailer followed by the infamous MGS2 trailer.

Red band E3 2013 trailer. Fucking intense, to the point where I questioned whether I even wanted MGS to go that dark.

Also how do u know he's not dying bro. Hasn't Metal Gear taught you anything about the way the world works? Kojima's Law: the most melodramatic thing that can happen, will happen.

I consider Metal Gear to be a foundation for deeper thinking, as goofy as that sounds. As a youth I wasn't exposed to a lot of challenging narratives and this really did blow my mind! I know it was a lot more that inspired me but I'm still really sad it's ending. I was 7 years old when I started playing! No reason that shouldn't be impactful. That said I'm more excited to see what Koji does next than I would be to see another MGS after V.

They might as well print out free discs and hand them to people at this rate. Anymore trailers and you'll have seen the entire game.

Damn. Crazy that it's his last one...sad.

I feel obligated to buy this over Mad Max on Tuesday strictly because I want to say "Fuck off!" to Konami.

Looking back at that E32013 trailer they really haven't shown much, even with contextless cutscenes. The latest trailers have really shied away from the story since then, I mean characters like Eli, Code Talker, or even the child soldiers have been barely seen since then. They haven't really shown much of the Africa side of the game and we've seen pretty much the same slice Afghanistan multiple times now, so unless this is a Destiny situation where this is all there is then there should be tons still left unseen.

So any bets on what song it will be?

My way - Frank Sinatra

Hahahah, that'd be hilariously cringey.

Please tell me that you're talking in terms of video game narratives and not philosophy. The melodrama in this thread is reaching critical mass.

I hope Kojima keeps it humble like he always has. Save the nostalgic moments for the games.

are you crazy? i'm pretty sure we've only seen a similar amount as the Tanker from MGS2.

I'm certain the trailers shown so far have cuts from significant events in the game, and while it's impossible to know full context at this point, certain events and/or series of events could be deduced if you wanted to go over them with a fine tooth comb.

Most trailers are littered with more spoilers than people notice.

true, i believe without context we have no idea what they mean, and thus those moments don't linger in our heads unless we memorize the trailers.

Well, Kojima loves his huge spoiler/wrong context trailers. MGS4
with Solid Snake's suicide
, MGS2
Snake being only playable at the begining
or even Ground Zeroes
Big Boss strangling Chico
.

1. Red Band E3 2013 (MGSV)
2. E3 2003 (MGS3)
3. E3 2015 - Elegia (MGSV)
4. E3 2000 (MGS2)
5. ECTS 1998 (MGS)

Very solid list. For me:

E3 2013 MGSV red band is the beat trailer kojima has ever made and the best edited. You get to see a good amount of gameplay, learn about new mechanics and see some solid story portions. The pacing is wonderful unlike the legendary e3 2000 trailer for mgs2 that is too long and doesnt strike the perfect balance between showing cinematics and gameplay.

Also, sins of the father is a GOAT song for MGS, which is an original song/production so edging out over choice liscensed tracks. Dat crescendo in the trailer is sooo good.
