also i think C. Viper would have been the "femme fatale" of SF but then Juri kinda came along and basically swiped that title with ease

Yea that would be great. Really tired of all this "Unknown" BS. Its ok for seth since hes artificial or something. But atleast put the current location of the other fighters or something and give them a stage , Like how Bison was Thailand in SF2.

Sure she has a story... just one that's kind of hammered together from loose floorboards and whatever else was to hand :P Everything else you said is true but it doesn't mean she suddenly doesn't have a story.

Just because they don't show it doesn't mean there isn't a reason :P

Veering wildly into speculation territory they make a big deal of her insignia in the games she's in as it appears in her moves, is on the psycho-drive and most importantly is on her hair decorations. At the end of the half-baked mess that was evolution, after defeating the Pyron, the insignia appears to her in the sky shining down on her and she gazes up at it. They then they cut to her putting those crests away and walking off, so it's entirely possible those are an artefact that give her goddess powers.

Like I say, what little story she has is kind of all over the place so there's plenty of room to fashion it into something a bit more solid/substantial and I doubt anyone is going to squeal too much if they retcon some of her previous stuff to fix it :3

That may be my one issue with Ingrid. They haven't done jack shit to really integrate her into Street Fighter. She's just there now.

I think many are expecting Juri because she's a mascot at this point appearing in many cross overes and being a darker Korean Chun Li. :P

We've already has this conversation here. Just because they gave Cody a storyline originally intended for Joe doesn't mean that they can't utilize him some other way. He'll be back.

Well, I do find Juri infinitely more interesting as a character. She might be sadistic and hedonistic but you feel like she's actually going to do stuff and get involved, maybe even move the plot along with her crazy shenanigans. Chun-li on the other hand doesn't really feel like she's done or going to do much beyond "OMG BISON."

I mean, Ryu's character was so simple you could sum it up by singing the first two lines of the pokemon cartoon theme song, but they've progressed him beyond that a bit and added some interest with the whole dark hado plot and whatnot, but Chun-li? She's still just 'there' playing little miss interpol and getting sent to hospital every second anime. I just find her really dull :/

Isnt she related to Gen in someway? Maybe they can expand in someway through that. But yea shes a very "vanilla" character. But I mean almost any character will seem like that unless they get some kind of "Evil" mode.

Ryu is vanilla as hell untill the whole Evil Ryu/Akuma story.

Cody would have been just another goody good boring character if he didnt go all Gangsta criminal ( Capcom even mentioned how people like Anti-heroes and thats why they brought SFA3 Cody for SF4 instead of FF)

Guile is vanilla as hell and Nash was too , but now hes a very interesting character because of joining the illuminati and shit.

Every character needs some kind of "Edginess" to be considered not totally boring.
 
Yah more antihero shake ups of existing characters I'd welcome. Not like Evil Ryu, but more like Nash or Cody. Nash being SF5's Frankenstein really made the character more interesting.

They could try pushing the really hammy kung fu movie thing she has in 3rd Strike. She's still a police officer, but her main thing is raising orphans and teaching kids kung fu. Her story in 3S is supposed to be about rescuing one of her orphans after Urien kidnaps them.

Gen trained Chuin Li after ger father died. Chun Li's father and Gen were also friends.

Chun Li has the possibility to become a very interesting character, but Capcom never developed her. Hell, they could do something really interesting regarding her father history.

She isn't a good fit for SFV. She would need to be reworked.
 
Capcom isn't going to just announce a new date for the beta at PAX.

PAX prome is the biggest consumer gaming convention in the country. They will announce a character there.
 
Another character this month seems very likely , so yea expect a character at PAX. I really do think we will have the entire roster by December. The character reveals will not stretch out to early next year.
 
I for one welcome our completely OP teen girl KOF-style goddess overlords, Ingrid's design and moves have always been cool to me. It'd be nice to get some actual insight on who (or what) she really is.

Still not getting hype til Alex is confirmed though. :p

I don't know why Capcom has such a hard time developing things for Chun-li. Her goal of taking down Bison and co. should make her a super interesting secondary main character already. But all her win quotes and rival fights boil down to "lol Im gonna arrest you". They could at lest make her win quote against Nash interesting, but nope. At least the Vega rival stuff with her is interesting.

I dont think it will be Juri. Considering we got Vega earlier this month. This will most likely be a New or Non-SF4 character.

1 new 1 SF4-returning seems to be the recurring theme for reveals.

I awouldn't really care if they said Mike and Balrog were the same, but until they make it official I'll consider them separate.

I actually want Joe to be part of Cody's storyline, and if they make another Final Fight, he could appear there too, so that would be cool with me. I just want to see him brought back.

Careful though with how you give a character some edginess, though. Overdo it, and the characters can come off as trying too hard too be cool. It tends to garner eye-rolls instead.

There's nothing wrong with someone being a goody good as long as the character is likable enough and the writing of that character is passable. Same with anti-heroes.

I think the Cody thing pertained more about the his clothes rather than anything else. He still would've been Mr. Apathetic had he gotten the FF clothes instead of the prison getup. It only worked for Cody because the guy barely had a personality to begin with.

But yeah, they need to work on Chun Li a bit more.

Obviously the first reveal was for the game itself :P So it doesnt really matter.

If anything I am betting the last month we will get an extra reveal for the final boss or something to balance it out.

I remember people saying "Crimson Viper doesn't fit in street fighter v, mainly cause of her seismic move"

so yeah, she probably will be in later

necalli was beta tested as omega t hawk, who also got a seismic move (hugo and zangief got parries in omega, for the record)

Yea honestly I want some more info. This is a new game , not just an expansion like Ultra,Super. They can show way more than just characters during all these events. I wanna see game modes,story cutscenes..etc
