New Kojima edited MGSV launch trailer coming

Japan 26, 2008? I known its out on the 25th US . But whats with the 2008?

There's no 2008 there, I have no idea what Google Translate messes up with that sentence.

I can never trust it with Japanese after learning the language myself and seeing how bad it is most of the time, lol.

I'd probably rank the E3 2013 Red Band trailer as the best MGSV trailer. It's nice to have actual gameplay footage implemented it, with the Sins of the Father playing over. In a sense it shows you a mission from the start to finish, and has a crescendo with you rescuing Miller.

It's a really effective trailer because it tells you everything you need to know about MGSV, and what's new.

I just watched yyyyyyyyYong's Day 9 video. It covers this trailer and I got a tingly feeling all over.

Every day we wait now represents one year of Big Boss's coma.

The last MGS with a soul.

It's entirely possible that an new MGS without Kojima could end up being better than previous games and still have "soul".

Unlikely but still possible. So I'd wait an see, but certainly expect something different

I don't know. Aside from the gameplay, what I really enjoy about the MGS games are the little things, the small touches that most developers don't seem to bother to do. That's the thing I'd miss most frankly. Kojima Productions just had this attention to detail that I don't see replicated very often among any other developers, really.

Oh my God, the fucking bandana.

He looks thinner.

Didn't they say he would be thinner in the beginning of the game and gain weight over time? Perhaps that's early in the game, shortly after the hospital.

No horn? I wonder how far through the game that pic is? I could be remembering wrong, but his horn was too big to completely hide in the hospital part, so I think it might be later on, he looks thin though.

It's not going to be story related. Kojima said it's a trailer for the fans about evolution of the metal gear series, and also not much spoilers. Like the image Sn4ke_911 posted up there, it's just to show the old big boss's look from MGS3. I doubt it will have any story significance.

That makes more sense, and is good to know, I was a little worried it'd be a very spoiler heavy trailer. He looks old though (older than MGS3 Snake), and also has the scar on his nose and cheek, but that could just be due to them using TPP's Big Boss model, to save time, I suppose, but I also wouldn't put it past Kojima to put a late game cutscene in a trailer.

how come I don't remember that suit from MGS3?

You find it in Groznyj Grad, in the locker room before the Shagohod hangar. It's fucking rad as shit; a '60s era Soviet prototype sneaking suit with CCCP markings all over it. I'm pretty sure it halves the damage you take, too. Konami seems to consider it the 'canonical' outfit for MGS3, I think; MGS3-era Big Boss is usually wearing it in promotional art:

EDIT - ^Yep, there you go.
