Nice! Do you have duplicates? For example seeds of death is available as both a standard and a special edition. I've got everything complete apart from the 5th and 6th doctors.

I even managed to get the really limited edition davros classic who collection by fluke. Saved me loads.

Sweet, good choices. I always have trouble with picking my favorites because I like them all to some degree and it entirely depends on my mood or what I'm watching/listening to at the time. For instance I'm real into 6 right now, but if I try really hard to narrow it down I get here (jn order of appearance and not rank):

2
4
8
11

But then I look at that list and think things like "oh no the 10th doctor got cut! how can this be?" and "but what about the 1st doctor? He started this!"

As for side characters I love the Brigadier. He's #1. And Amy was great. Wilf was the one we all deserved more of. Charlie and Lucy were both good.

Always loved the 3rd aswell. Bringing in the color and also the fisticuffs. Also that sick ride.
Everyone loves the Brigadier. Like the goverment but not power hungry at all and cool about all the bullshit he gets put through which is alot.

Favorite companions?

Jamie (Amazing, was the 2nd Doctor's true right-hand man, and was able to think through things he didn't fully understand. He did have disagreements with Two, but didn't go all Danny Pink on him.)

Ian (Took charge of a situation and cared about helping as many people as he could. Not afraid to clash with the First Doctor.)

Sarah Jane (Enough said haha.)

Donna (Loved that sass.)

Ace (Probably my absolute favorite, she is totally awesome. Nothing like blowing stuff up and calling 7 "Professor".)

Best side character: The Brig, hands down. It still annoys me how Moffat did the perfect tribute with 11, and then messed it all up by making him a Cyberman in S8. Ugh.

Talking bout bad guys.
Those very first Cybermen(or second)? with the pots on their heads and white ski masks were most hilarious. And there voices too very sick. Never failed to the deliver the fuckery to the doc. And the Master. A troll that lives for lolz and sometimes drops by to mess with the doc after getting bored messing with planets. Daleks the best tho.

I tend to really like the idea of the old Cybermen. Seems tragic, and if you intentionally put aside the cheesy 60s costumes and suspend your disbelief then the whole bag-face freaky-voice awkward-bodies thing is actually pretty scary. The realization is iffy but the idea is solid.

Contrast that with modern Cybermen where I think the realization is solid (costumes are way better made) but the idea is more iffy. They look less like some robotic freaks and more like a generic robots now. And their voices are no longer super strange, they just talk like 50s robots now. Surprising that they had more range in the 60s than they do now.

I'd like to see them more cobbled together, more of a mess. More evidence that there's a person trapped in there.

I really like the Valeyard who got underused in an unfortunate time period of the show but I've been hearing him in a couple Big Finish audios lately and it's fantastic.

Yeah, I've been buying them here and there for that long, too haha. Every b-day and xmas I ask for a couple of new ones. I can't even count how many I have now and still have a lot to go

more than few. I have gotten rid most of the older versions over the years. I also have the CD's of the 60s missing episodes but that's about the limit of my collecting, I haven't bought Toys in years or extended universe books, comics or audio plays.

I tell a lie, I have bough some behind the scenes stuff on Kindle.

Clara has really overstayed her welcome. It's not the actress and frankly, it's not really the character herself since she's likable enough and self-sufficient, it's just she's not really interesting, and the attempts to give her character arcs using Pink last series seriously fell flat for me.

Is anyone else bothered by Capaldi's version of this Doctor CONSTANTLY changing clothes?

I dunno...i quite liked and looked forward to each seasons "new uniform" but this time seems to be going all over the place with hoodies and pink tshirts vs the cool black/doc martins look that was first promo'd.

Clara continues to be utterly adorable!

I don't mind that he changes a lot of things in his outfit, the Doctor finally showers!

However, can't say I'm a huge fan of the hoodie. His S8 finale look remains my favorite.

Regarding Capaldi's looks: I don't think I can see him dressed in the more 'costume-y' look most of the other Doctors had (everyone apart from Eccleston, really). I like how he looks now, I think it adds to his aged rockstar-vibe (which they seem to be exploring a bit more this series with the guitar scene in the trailer, and last series you had stuff like him whistling 'we don't need no education'). It fits Capaldi's actual history, is something new for Doctor Who but fits the character at the same time. The fact that there is some variation in what he wears is fine by me - I always thought Eccleston's look was a bit boring (although he obviously had the role for such a short time that it wasn't that noticable). He keeps things interesting this way.

Also, this has probably been discussed already, but I think I spotted him wearing some Hartnell/Throughton-like trousers in some of the promotional material.

I hate his new costume and hair, but I am sure I'll come around. I mean, it fits with the post finale+christmas vibe where he gets over himself and unwinds a bit.

Still, I love the season 8 uptight buttoned up look.

I've never done this before, but I Freaked out when I saw the new costume because it's literally a merger of my lab coat and what I wear to conferences so I decided to do my best. It doesn't really work because I'm a bigger girl who just got a haircut but damn.... as a scientist with zero artistic or crafting abilities I'll take it :)

No surprise, but we're getting a Christmas Special. DWM 490 confirmed it. Yes, I am browsing r/Gallifrey.

Steven [Moffat] is currently writing the traditional Doctor Who Christmas Special, and tells DWM a whopping great big spoiler that brings a smile to our face. But you'll have to wait a bit longer for that one.

There are several things to note:

- The series 9 finale (or episode 12) is scheduled to be shown on 5th December, so the Special will only come 20 days after the end of the series.

- I'd guess that the Sherlock episode will either be shown on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. Now there's an interesting idea for a BBC Christmas ident...

Wear a wig, hair "problem" solved.

Looks like you've got yourself a nice outfit to cosplay if you ever decide to do so, and you already own everything you need.

Missy is actually Romana getting back at the Doctor for abandoning her in the war and posing as the master.

Who she's having kinky times with.

Sherlock goes back to it's original version for christmas.

So obviously Doctor Who is also going back to it's orginal version.

Hartnell will be back.

or not

They said it'd bring a smile to your face, though.
Oh, hush. Sure the Song Arc got a bit contrived towards the end, and her 'exit' from Eleven's series was extremely disappointing, but I actually liked River. Her Weeping Angels two-parter in S5 was great, and the Library episodes were brilliant. Fuck the haters.

I don't dislike River at all, but I think her time on the show should be over. She really belonged in Matt Smith's era, with a nice little prologue during Tennant's run. I'd prefer it if they let Capaldi create his own storylines and recurring characters before they'll go back to close off storylines of the Doctor before him (beyond the search for Gallifrey obviously, that's something that would concern any of the Doctors). If you look at the history of the show you'll notice that they all start of with, at most, just a handful of recurring characters and situations from the previous Doctor to help the transition, but that their golden years start the moment they find their own identity and start exploring their own version of the universe. Of course you can have returning companions etc. later on, but something as big as the River story - eh.

That doesn't mean Moffat won't do it obviously. I just hope he won't.

A press screening of The Magician's Apprentice took place this morning. Haven't seen any spoilers yet, but be careful if you're trying to go spoiler-free.

I would actually love to see River Song interact with the 12th Doctor.

Yeah they did overuse River during Matt Smith's era but I wouldn't mind seeing her occasionally coming back for Capaldi's era as long as it was a bit rarer then Smith's era.

I would honestly not mind if we never saw River or the Paternoster Gang in a Doctor Who episode again. I can see the positive aspects of their character, but the way they're written and the way they keep popping up makes them so. Damn. Irritating.

It's like Deep Breath was supposed to be anti-Eleventh Hour with loads of familiar faces around, but god if I didn't find every part that didn't feature Capaldi's Doctor immensely tedious. The characters aren't endearing, and they actually managed to make the concept of a semi-reformed Sontaran dull.

Capaldi needs his own characters.

Get rid of Clara
Get rid of Jenny, Vastra and Strax (they make their species seem tame)

Bring in a new companion or two.

Make the aliens terrifying again.

Actually make aliens that one can fight. The Boneless, Silence, Weeping Angels etc are all more of a concept than an actual enemy.

The recycling of old characters/villains is the absolute worst part of Doctor Who. In this vast universe, throughout all time, and we keep running into the same people.

But it won't stop
