Advice for life: "If you're afraid of dying don't be born"

Days like these...

Have a Blessed Day
The original untranslated saying in Spanish is "El que tenga miedo a morir que no nazca". I'm not sure who it can be attributed to but it resonates deeply with me even though it's epistemically impossible making it absurd. I'm not only a landscaper I dabble in thinking. Humor me with abusrd quotes/advice you like.

My dad said, "You want horns but you will die butt-headed."

Context: The phrase "you want horns but you'll die butt-headed" is an idiomatic expression that conveys a sense of frustration or a warning about the consequences of one's desires. It suggests that while one might desire something, it may not be worth the effort or outcome. The expression is often used to describe situations where someone is in conflict or disagreement with others, implying that their desires or opinions may lead to negative consequences.
Whole podcast about it. (who knew)

"Win, the yes needs the no to win against the no"

Jean Pierre Raffarin, French prime minister at the time

No one could understand this one in France so if you guys have any idea...

Ask stupid questions, get stupid answers.
There are no stupid questions...

One of my favourite sayings growing up was about doing dumb shit and waking up dead and "if you break your legs, don't come running to me crying" along with my nans "they pair of shits need tying ass to ass and heaving of a cliff".

Al Capone
It was a reference to this old post a little before your time

"Don't mistake my weakness for kindness"

A dude on Resetera

"It's just one of those days when you don't wanna wake up
Everything is fucked, everybody sucks
You don't really know why
But you wanna justify rippin' someone's head off
No human contact
And if you interact, your life is on contract
Your best bet is to stay away, motherfucker"

A real tough guy

Is he saying there's no winning without opposition? That an opposing point of view is beneficial or even necessary to get the best out of people. Obviously it must be less clear than that since you've mentioned it, and I don't know the context. I'm not sure why I replied, really.

That's what I say.

There's a little card in the box or even printed on the outside. You normally know exactly what you're going to get.

It is a very good guess, because you don't know how stupid french politicians are :messenger_grinning_sweat:
I think he is saying those who vote yes needs to convince those who vote no in order to win.

"All that you see will soon perish; those who witness this perishing will soon perish themselves. Die in extreme old age or die before your time—it will all be the same."

Marcus Aurelius

"That which was born alive was, by the law of the Church and the law of Nature, suffered to live, and helped to maturity if possible, by those who had begotten it. The law was not always obeyed, but it was obeyed with sufficient frequency to sustain a scattered population of adult monsters..."
