I had to read ASM RYV #4 twice cuz I had to get over the overbearingness of MJ. Still, it's another good issue by Slott.

But in a surprising turn of opinion, 1872 is my book of the week. The last issue was a little underwhelming that I didn't even have it in my Top 5. But this issue turned it around.

But I legit lol'd because
Natasha said she was a "Widow"
. That shit was hilarious.

So any idea who that was popping up at the end of Guardians of Knowhere?

I think that's proxima midnight, but hard to say because the outfit looks off.

In other news, I can't get over how great weirdworld is. I can't believe they dug crystar out of whatever IP grave he's been moldering in for 30 years.

Yo this book is so dope I can't believe this is going to be an ongoing thing in ANAD Marvel. What a time to be alive.

Also if you're not reading Captain Britain you are fucking up!

Did it make it worth having to read all the previous ishs? Because the first one was.... not good at all.

I think so. I actually liked the first issue too. Sure it was a slow start but after it got going it's been interesting. Without a doubt I'd read them all. I'm kind of interested to see where they go as they finish this series.

The new one turned me around, first issue was pathetic imo.

I really do read Ewing's Avengers (or Defenders) as self important snobs though.

Cmon Psych no love for Prowler?

Wait, Weirdworld is getting an ongoing?

Pretty sure, I know the new Black Knight book is also set in Weirdworld.

Agreed. Weirdworld getting an ongoing is shocking as hell, but I'm glad it's happening. They need to keep the artist on it though or it won't be the same.

I'm reading everything son, think of who you're talking to ;)

Don't think anything has been announced at this point. I'm still hoping for a Runaways on-going myself so hopefully we both get the announcements we want soon.

EDIT: or maybe it is lol

weirdworld will continue past secret wars, with Dane whitman as the protag.

Yeah, Weirdworld was in the back of the ANAD preview book along with A-Force, Old Man Logan, and probably something I'm forgetting as books that would go past Secret Wars.

Are the following books worth reading?

Guardians of Knowhere
Armor Wars
X-tinction Agenda
Spiderverse

The middle two you listed are so dull. I dropped Armor Wars because of that stinker of a first issue. X-tinction Agenda has a 90s event vibe that is hard to overlook.

The first and the latter books are actually not bad.

the only thing that's clearly NOT worth following is Ultimate End. everything else is worth the read.

I'm pulling literally every secret wars book except those 4 and Ultimate End.

You can see that Ultimate End didn't make the maybe list haha. What an absolute garbage waste of a cool idea. :(

These waits between the main issues are starting to wear on me. I'm liking the various spinoff books but the real meat is in the main story.

it's up to date with the exception of three individuals, who JUST got deposed or dealt with in the last week or so. seeing as how those events are huge spoilers for their associated books, I'd give it a pass.

one book got spoiled though, so they arent all that concerned about spoilers.

Secret Wars delayed again.

Secret Wars #6 was originally solicited for the beginning of August. Then it slipped to the beginning of September. Now it is scheduled for the 16th September.

Secret Wars #7 is scheduled for 23rd of September. With Secret Wars #8 scheduled for the 7th October, the same day as the first All-New All-Different Marvel titles ship.

This Week's Books

Ant-Man Last Days #1
Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps #3
Civil War #3
Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #4
E is for Extinction #3
Hank Johnson: Agent of HYDRA #1
Magneto #21
Marvel Zombies #3
MODOK Assassin #4
Old Man Logan #4
Spider-Woman #10
X-Men 92 #3

I guess 3 weeks before Secret Wars issues was too good to be true. I wonder if they will be able to hold to the schedule for the last 2 issues.

I'm more interested in the tie-ins than the main story anyway.

Small week for me.....

Civil War #3
Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #4
Marvel Zombies #3

Ribic's good, but at this rate, I really think they could've just alternated artists.

It's a lot of material too. I think #6 is like 50+ pages or something.

Captain Ameribug is probably the damned cutest thing I've seen in a long time.

As it sounds like Weirdworld is getting an on-running series, I hope it remains somewhat cut-off from the rest of the Marvel Universe. It doesn't need other characters finding themselves there and going "Woah, what is this weird place?" in a crossover.

I really damn hope they won't delay Secret Wars any further, it's bad enough.
Last Secret Wars and new ANAD titles at the same day will be a clusterfuck, especially since we will get previews about them both at the same time, right?

They should delay ANAD at least one week, but i know that's financially impossible.
