MGSV:TPP LAUNCH TRAILER

What the hell would be the point of that though? MGS is what it is because it's *not* down to Earth.

Making another one without those elements makes no sense when you could just make something new.

Either way, sans Kojima and whoever else left in the wake of Konami's shenanigans, I don't think there's much chance any more worthwhile MG titles will come.

Yeah that's a valid point. I guess people just like the games for different reasons. I like the cloak and dagger-type story bits and also the sci-fi aspects, I just don't think they co-exist very well, and I don't have any special feelings for Kojima's talents other than he's unique. Any new games certainly wouldn't be in the same style. They couldn't be even if they tried, but it doesn't mean someone can't take a different slant on the story and it not be good.

and that there were more advanced Metal Gears before is Rex is kinda weird too.

This.

How would anyone developing a new Metal Gear model after the ST-84 create this as the next logical evolution of the machine:

Tx-55metalgear.jpg

Also strange is that Big Boss is the one that oversees the production of the Metal Gear TX-55. Wouldn't he want it to be more advanced that the ST-84?!?

Jeez. A god dang
transforming
Metal Gear. How do they explain not having those in other games I wonder?

The Shagohod in MGS3 and PW both had multiple forms. This would be the third 'transformer'.

Though the Shagohod didn't really transform but had a second form.

Nanomachines.

It's like they completely forgot that in Ground Zeroes, the camera pans from SF to BB in one shot. It can't even be a Fight Club situation.

It cant'? Who said the SF part was actually happening at that exact time. And what's with the flashing light as the badges are falling down, could that not be an indication of the game "going back to real-time/reality" type situation.

Chico freaks out when he sees Big Boss for the first time in GZ.

It's Kojima. Anything can happen.

The parts that allow that will be the weak point, or something like that.

Not that your point isnt valid, because it is, but how was it obvious?
Look at every step of the changes in the hallway, like Snake suddenly being soaked in blood or everything catching fire. Do you think those things literally happened? If not, it's a metaphor.

read my post above, and let me know what you think. Btw Im not being condescending I actually want to know what you think about it

The Patriot AI was destroyed at the end of MGS4. Zero and Big Boss are dead. There's no reason for them to go back in time to stop the Patriots. Also, there's no reason why Old Snake would do a 180 after all he went though. He had closure. Actually, Skull Face's ideology and history (if he's telling the truth) doesn't even match up with Old Snake. It makes no sense.

I dont think that scene literally happen, No. I dont think anyone is saying that

You are correct, however we dont know what happen after MGS 4 ending, outside of the Revengence story

Turns out Big Boss is a huge fan of Battletech.

The Patriots aim was to suppress technology growth in order to better control the population.

Big Boss may have created the weak Metal Gears in MG1 and MG2 as a rouse to prove he was not a part of the Patriots and then create more money for private military funds showing there was a legitimate threat.

When you time travel, you regrow the limbs you lost, that is why Kaz invented it. Obv.

Despite all the jokes, in fairness, this is a game where you can (in the 1980's) make a portal to fulton people to other places. It isn't much of a stretch for time travel to legitimately be a thing in an MGS game

You're basically making up your own story here. Literally anything is possible if you start from the position that everything they've shown us is a lie in GZ. There just isn't a good reason to believe that though.

Also, both Chico and Paz don't want BB to save them because it was all a setup. Chico's distress call was done under orders of Skull Face.

Liquid didn't know the full capabilities of Rex. He was a noob pressing all the buttons to try to kill Snake.

Expecting credible technology in MGSV is going to leave you dissapointed. I mean, the IDROID is more advanced than most of the stuff in MGS4, You can upgrade your fulton to create teleportation wormholes..

Besides, this game is the sequel to peace walker, which featured this guy.

I mean, here we are in the 70s, yet a hovering, railgun wielding, AI controlled robot existed. Why even continue developping bipedal walking tanks after this, especially manned bipedal tanks ? That thing was way more advanced than Rex and Ray combined. ... I'll say it again... It's a flying gigantic battle tank that shoots lasers and that is controlled by an autonomous AI.

I wish he hadn't shown much past the the metal gear staring down big boss or that I hadn't seen it. Not for any supposed story spoilers, but seeing that new metal gear do that shit mid mission would've been a real "oh fuck" moment.

Not that there isn't a precedent for this though. MGS trailers showed Rex moving, MGS2 showed all the Ray models. And showing Rex vs. Ray in the MGS4 trailers was a similarly bonehead move, but he definitely did. I guess in the end Kojima never could learn to keep it in his pants. #robotcock

You know, if it's indeed Eli who pilot ST-84 in the trailer, it's kinda funny when Liquid was yelling witness the weapon of 21st century in MGS1 considering he already piloted something far more advanced than REX 20 years earlier. :p

I dont understand the spoiler. You guys can't seriously actually believe that that
transition is saying Big Boss is Skullface right? That makes no sense at all.

FOX made Solid and Liquid, Eva gave them birth, maybe it's this.

In one of the trailers that line is followed directly with "FOX vs. XOF". Also, Solid and Liquid were made by Cipher, not FOX.

The two phantoms are (evil) Big Boss and Skull Face.
