One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 |OT| Feel The Pain Of Koei and Namco Bandai's Victory

i know it says it covers the whole story this time, but i am curious if there are any arcs skipped.

for example I only see kuro as a support character, does that mean that usopp's arc isn't really present?

also how long does it take to play though the story? if it covers it decently I figure it's got to be at least 30-40 hours to get through everything.

I'm merely asking as I can't start playing for another 3 hours as my wife would kill me if I played it without her lol.

The game skips the foxy games arc and Amazon Lily. Ussops arc is in but it is only 1 mission likewise with the other arcs excluding Marineford which is 2 missions. The story can take 8-12hrs depending on difficulty if not longer if you want to complete the treasure events.

So less content than a normal DW or SW game?

You also get 2 missions for preordering. One is Davy Back and I think the other one is Marineford.

Cheap-ass publisher making you pay for the costumes that were in the previous games, lol. Are those two pre-order costumes in the season pass? In Sweden we have to choose between steelbook and costumes and I'm going for the steelbook.

I got the last Steelbook

Wow, I am UPSET!

I received my pre-order from EBGames.ca today, and not only did I not receive the metal case [which is what I wanted most] but no DLC either. I had a pre-order at Amazon.ca, back during the E3 promotion, for $69.99 + 30% off + free shipping that I cancelled, to receive this metal case + DLC. I paid $30+ extra, to go with EBGames and their "exclusive items" [I know, sounds a bit insane, but I'm a fan of One Piece as well as metal cases] and I didn't receive any of the things I was promised, outside of the game. I already sent EBGames an email.

Honestly, if they don't correct this I'm tempted to return my copy and go buy it somewhere else. To make matters worse, it's STILL advertised on their website [although the game is out-of-stock].

:/

I ordered online to get the case, and if it doesn't arrive today with it I'm going to be pretty upset and return it, considering it cost about $15 more than BB GCU.
As stated above, I pre-ordered mine online a while back, and received no metal case or DLC. I wish you luck, because I sure as hell didn't have any.

Barely played any DW since DW 2 but a recent re-dive into One Piece compelled me.

Only done two missions so far so no real handle on anything yet. But Good Christ their faces are terrifying in motion.

I like the coin stuff more than the Hyrule warriors material stuff. Feels like less of a grind and it out right tells out you what you need for the rarer coins.

I didn't order it until a few days ago, so I guess I am fucked. But I did get DLC code sent to me in a separate email earlier today.

I didn't even receive the DLC code, so not happy. :/

Update:

There's hope! I just received this email from them.

"Good Afternoon,

Thank you for contacting EBGames.ca!

We apologize for any inconvenience. Your preorder Bonuses will be shipped tonight or tomorrow. You will receive them within 1-10 business days."

So we'll see.

Is there any word on (quality of) steam version yet?
PC version releases on Steam on the 28th
how do you change costumes in this game

On the character select screen, when you select someone, there's a menu that pops up, right? I believe one of the options there is to change costume. Obviously not available if you haven't got any alternate costumes, and I don't think you start with any (unless you have DLC)

There was an exception with UPS that prevented delivery today and will delay it to tomorrow.

Can anyone help my friend and I out with getting the co-op to work? We were under the impression that we could complete the story mode using online co-op, but every time my friend accepts my invite for the first mission after the tutorial we are given a message saying he hasn't completed the mission yet. Do they have limitations put in place so you can only co-op missions you have both completed?

3.14GB update..This is going to take all night ;/ and came with no manual which I could be reading while d/ling the update! Welp, back to onechanbara.

I went ahead and bought the Vita version. There was a glitch initially when the Playstation Store updated earlier today (only the DLC was available to download and not the entire game) but it was quickly resolved.

Just some initial impressions:

-- It works on the Playstation TV. The Dual Shock 3 seems completely mapped and supported (probably already confirmed in the Japanese version) ... but the US version here is the same deal. There's no mention of the PSTV on the Playstation Store page.

-- I've never really followed or know anything about the One Piece series. This game purchase more of my fascination towards the game genre. I'd played Hyrule Warriors, Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3, and Dynasty Warriors 8. I've been sampling Koei beat-em-up games since.

-- Performance. Characters pop-in occasionally. The fade in casually. Didn't notice any slowdown whenever there were the maximum amount of characters on-screen (say for the prologue, roughly 50-70 characters). It's a lot smoother than DW8XLCE on Vita. I did get a chance to play the PS3 version to directly compare and contrast a bit. The draw distance is about the same. The environment will pop in on the Vita where they casually fade on the PS3. There's some visual glitches that happen on the Vita that don't on the PS3 (like part of a tree didn't fade back in right. You're definitely not getting the visual fidelity of either PS3 or PS4 version with the Vita version. I guess the enemy count is a little disappointing but it's not bad. What surprised me about the Vita version was the consistent frame rate and load times equal to the PS3 version.

-- Nice touch is the cross-save. Even though there's an auto-upload feature, it seems to just prompt you if you want to store your save on the cloud after each stage. It's handy and it works (without PS+) if you want to go from PSTV <-> Vita <-> PS3 <-> PS4.

-- Vita has online and voice chat. The latter option is muted by default. Honestly, haven't figured out how to play online or join a specific game. There is a dedicated online mode and then a way to ask other online players for help.

So SharePlay doesn't seem to work for this game. I think they blocked it :(

Edit: Wait, my friend read online that you can use SharePlay with this game.. but when we tried, it's giving us a message saying that the screen is blocked for the visitor... weird.

Been playing for about 4 hours or so. I love it so much. The moves and special attacks are awesome. Havent played a musou game in awhile (even though i always enjoy them) and im impressed with the whole package. Im gonna recommend it to all my friends.

I can confirm the online is sadly the exact same as last time in that it'll terminate after any game, you can't just roll along easily with the same person. Meh. Wonder when will TK or Omega or whoever will update their systems for that..

There are further limits to the online mode as well, isn't there? From the little I've read, it doesn't seem like a huge waste to lose the mode in the PC version (unlike w/ the DW games).

Man I am really enjoying this game. Best Warriors type game I have ever played. The Vita version is very good too. I am not sure what the kill count is like in the other versions but this has more guys on screen than any other Warriors game on the Vita IMO. The team attack mechanic is really cool and the coin system is easy to understand. The presentation of the whole game is top notch.

Cant wait to keep playing tonight. Again Vita buyers, good port.

In an ideal system, you should be able to invite a friend to a party and play through story mode together. (Or at the very least, attempt any multiplayer map without having to
set up invites after every single battle.)

The rescue system is "neat" but really annoying for friends if it's the exact same as PW2. I need to test that. (You couldn't lock it to friends only, so you had better hope your friend was faster than the game's matchmaking.)

This sounds awful. I was actually planning to do some MP.

Played the ps4 version a bit last night after the update. It's certainly better than OP2 ps3 version when it comes to performance but there it still has noticeable frame drops.
I guess ps4's netbook cpu can't cope with so many characters on screen.
