Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain | Review Thread | Words That Kill

I didn't. I'm from the north east and they're shite :)

It's not my birthday for 2 months. Hence the sudden purchase :)

Ah, I misread 'your area' as meaning my actual area and just thought you were really, really on the ball. Or Psycho Mantis. Remarkably, out here in sunny Morpeth, the mail is actually awesome. Surprising considering how bad it is everywhere else in the North East.

Ordered, so now going to spend the next 48 hours crossing my fingers. Just found out I've possibly got an unexpected day off on Friday, so this would ice a very nice cake.

I've used them before. Usually same day dispatch before 3pm. I got Witcher 3 3 days early from them.

I ordered MGS today at 12 as I couldn't wait till my birthday to play it as a present. I got a dispatch text at 16:11 so I should get it tomorrow. If you order now it should get dispatched tomorrow for a Friday delivery.

The only blocker in this is how shit Royal Mail is in your area. They're absolutely shite in the north east.

Really? I live in Northumberland and I always get 1st class deliveries the very next day.

Morpeth? Not far from us here in Choppington

I understand french, so I can comment on that. They're saying that in the context of "missing stuff may disappoint fans of old MGS". They're saying the OST itself is beautiful and fantastic, but that it doesn't include classic themes and clashes a bit with previous games in style.

Oh, I just had to convince my brother to order from simplygames, didn't I?

He'll have the whole weekend to play it and brag about it, while I have to wait for the damn thing to unlock on Steam.

so is there any videos that yall think are the best to view to learn/freshen up on the series story? I have friends interested but are worried about not playing any previous titles.

70 bucks. Hidden in a plastic bag like dealing with coke.

Got it now. Now I have to wait for an hour until I get home from work and then the magic starts.

why do you like MG2 so much?

Basically the prototype for Solid 1(my favorite of the Solid series)
Everything is there but the voice acting and graphics(yet 2d has an stylistic charm to it)
Everything about it I just liked better.
Fighting Gray Fox hand to hand,
Metal Gear D
Hind D boss fight
Big Boss
Holly
Solid Snake without the clone stuff.
OST even has tracks on Solid's level imo.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRDRd_Zefx8 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS3G87TLVyg ,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVbsPua__sU )

And I played it after MGS1,2 and 3 so it wasn't a case of first being my favorite or nostalgia or anything.

Technically Solid does stuff better but my Solid 1 was close enough gameplay wise that my imagination for certain aspects covers it for me.
Even then its amazing for what it was/is

I started out apathetic towards this game but all this prerelease hype has gotten me really interested in it.

I've only ever played a bit of PW though. What's the best way to get through the rest of the MG series? What games should I skip?
