Is opencritic stupid?

They have to use Ai or DEI people that are clinically retarded.

86 metascore is much, much higher than I expected, now I'm excited, seriously.
The game itself is deep and elegant even by today's standards, so if they've recreated it successfully then it's a 90. Unfortunately the UE5 fears have come to pass, no stuttering though from the sound of it which is a plus.

This review is absolutely stupid and nonsensical. Some people should not write reviews or even have the privilege to reviewing games
Some of these people think they're Hunter S. Thompson and T.S. Eliot illegitimate love child and that their genius is simply stuck in the gaming ghetto for now.

They're just waffling goofballs. They can write all they want though, I think it's funny.

I mean, they're reviewers, some of them always have been and nothing has changed. Just depends on who you want to flock to.

Yup, it's why I never understood review praise. People talk mess about reviewers, but then they still crave their numbers, lol. If anything looking at the total summed percentage is enough to go, "Oh, okay it's apparently pretty good" or "it's shit". Finding out for yourself is the best method, especially if it's something you're genuinely interested in IMO.

My two biggest curiosities:

1. Have they added any exciting new game plus unlockables? Extra high difficulties or new gameplay modifiers

2. How has the ai been altered to counteract the new camera and controls.

If anyone sees anything please lmk

Remaking arguably the most beloved MGS without Kojima and having it be a great game that people accepted was going to be nearly an impossible task. Looks like it doesn't land beautifully for everyone but that it is earnestly a great game that people will accept. Really happy for Konami that they were able to accomplish this.

Glad it reviewed well. Def want to play this but I'm still in the middle of DS2, so not gonna back to back Kojima. Will play this maybe end of the year or early 2026.

Does this game have scores like in MGS V? Or can I kill everyone with no repercussions?

You get ranked at the end of each playthrough (which is generally 2-5 hours long on subsequent playthroughs when skipping cutscenes) and get a higher rank depending on kills, alerts, healing items used, and time taken. Some ranks have special requirements like requiring you to eat every animal & plant in the game.

I would recommend playing the game at least twice. Once for the story, and then another time for one of the special ranks such as Kerotan, Markhor, or Foxhound.

Yeah, it's just a glorified Remaster, as expected. Gonna buy it anyway.
Why you wanted something different from a remake/remaster of MGS3 in particular? Game was great back in the day, now it has great graphics, doesn't need to change anything, well, except some of the stupid kerotan locations...

A good Remake can stand on it's own alongside the original - see RE1+2+3+4 Remakes. Upgrading the graphics is nice and all but I think it's a waste, especially because a Remaster of the Original was released on the current gen not long ago. What the point of that Remaster now with the release of the Remake?

I'm really concerned this hasn't been called out as the slop it is. It has some great assets, but they stick out like a sore thumb. None of the systems are updated enough to really incorporate them properly, so it's like an AI upscaling job. The animations in cutscenes, especially facial animations, are atrocious. It really is just playing the game from 2004 with "better" graphics, proving that you would all just take any old game imported into UE5 and give it 10s. Shameful.

I want to play this, but I played the original many years ago and hated the controls back then. Plus MGS V spoiled me as far as gameplay/controls go, so I don't think I'd like this one much despite the updated graphics.

Is not having to fix it infinitely better than no way to fix it on Xbox?? And you don't have to pay $70 dollars. https://www.cdkeys.com/metal-gear-solid-delta-snake-eater-pc-steam-na
Dude it's just my thing. I play most games on PC but a game like this or Borderlands 4 I'll just play on console for simplicity's sake. It's like a checklist.

- Does it have ultrawide
- Does it have support for higher framerates
- Do I have to fiddle with ini files
- Do I have to download mods
- Is it a UE5 game

I'm a filthy fucking casual in that sense.

I'm in the 1% that never really never played this one. I did attempt a couple times, but I barely did anything. It's the only one I've never played (aside from the PSP stuff). I hated the perspective for whatever reason. I even bought Subsistence at one point hoping it would be less frustrating, but nope. Looking back, I honestly think it was just a case of me playing at the wrong time in my life (early 20's). And as much as I can't stand gaming media, I enjoy Tamoor Hussein's reviews and his really sold me on it...obviously on top of everything I've read and heard over the past 20 years.

The problem is that Gears PS5 and That Fucking Kirby Update for the S2 is out on the same day. This year has been utterly insane. There's never, ever been a year when I haven't been able to catch up and stay current, but this year is kicking my fucking ass man. My backlog is starting to become a problem.

Oh and then seven days after Metal Gear we get Hell is Us. And the day after that we get Cronos.

With all due respect to the other games you listed, MGS3 is an all-timer. I'd probably recommend playing the HD Collection version first though.

I don't know how it can get such high marks when it has such serious performance issues, while running at super low resolutions. Absolutely unacceptable. I won't touch it until it's fixed.
